I was walking around in midtown with a gentleman friend, chatting as we headed over to the Stage Door Deli to grab lunch. A beefy stranger stops the two of us and says, "Bald Man. Sexy! You like!" then smiled a huge grin and went off on his merry way. Whoa. We both broken into unstoppable laughter.
My friend was caught off guard by the bear like dude's comments. I'm not certain if he's thought of himself that way. I'd venture a yes, since he is indeed both bald and sexy.
I have another friend that is bald and began seriously losing his hair in college. He took to wearing a toupee while in school. It was like one day he was almost bald and the next day he had this big mop of hair. Some our mutual friends want to sweat him about going natural, but I think that this is his own choice and they should leave him alone to do his thing.
So, what do you think? Bald = Sexy, is this a metropolitan distinction or does everyone think this is so?
Should people with toupees be shamed into going commando?

Maria, I think it depends on who's sporting the bald head... Taye Diggs = one hella sexy bald man (see?? he made me say "hella"!!)
I think if you're already going bald, you might as well try and accept it, embrace it, then rock it. Who knows, the guy may end up looking hella sexy like Taye :-)

Bald can totally be sexy. Bald is a state of the head. Sexy is a state of mind. Sexy can go on for years after baldness has set in.

You know, the guy with the toupee is not a bad looking guy. He'd probably look just fine without the rug. His parents are kind of older though. They had him after years of trying. I'm thinking Dad might be of the toupee generation, Son took after Dad and now is too entrenched to fly without cover. Like it's the big change that is more off putting than actually showing the world he is bald.

I think a bald head is much less distracting than a toupeed or hair-plugged head. But Maria, I know what you mean. To older generations, going bald seems to have more of a symbolic meaning (e.g., old age, loss of masculinity, etc)

My dad used to have this awful comb-over until, in a tragic twist of events, he had to have his head shaved, and the comb-over strands never grew back. He looks 50 times better now. Very Robert Duvall. But he did go through a small mourning period. I guess it became such a part of his life, like he was Samson or something.
I found my first gray hair shortly before turning 31, and I freaked out because I was all "Oh it is the end of my days as a cute chick!!!!" But now I am proud of my new "highlights", even though they are only a few right now.

If they are balding or bald and have grafts of hair or a toupee, then i am turned off

I am 'plugging' (ah i kill me with the puns) the fellow bald-headed guys out there saying it is the way to go. of course, since i've started going bald, i just decided to shave it all. now i can't wait for the day when i go completely bald and don't have to shave it anymore!

it's my ultimate turn on.
comb overs, extensions, hair paint, etc... stop kidding yourself. like Kristine R. mentioned.... just rock it with confidence.

Bald can be sexy. Taye Diggs= yes, Britney Spears= no. Seriously, though, I think it depends on the shape of the head. Sometimes it makes guys' heads look like big eggs. Other times it looks pretty hot.
Apparently Ryan used to shave his head for a while... way glad that was before he met me. He said people told him he looked like he was going through chemo.
And hair plugs are the most horrible things I've ever seen. They gross me out so much!!

The biggest problem with Britney's bald head was that she was half-assed about it! She didn't even shave it all off at once! She was like a poster child for trailer trash... it never ceases to amaze me how someone who was that successful and was literally worth billions of dollars at one point could be such a wreck. Just goes to show that having money does not equate being mature.

I think the bare feet in the gas station restrooms made Britney the poster child for trailer trash. The head shaving (and subsequent events) moreso made her the poster child for people who need serious help... she even knocked Lindsay Lohan (aka Miss "I've been in AA for a year, but I've been sober for a week") out of that spot. Ugh, celebs..
I saw Vin Diesel on the train a couple months ago (or someone who looked JUST like him)... his head was all stubbly (and not in the fun to feel just buzzed way). Extremely *not* sexy.
