hi guys,
i am searching throughout the US for a place to relocate private fitness business. i have searched demographics in several different areas and the 2 main areas that are coming up are austin texas and nashville, tennessee. im curious to see what would be the more appropriate place to relocate. so if you wouldn't mind selling me as to why my business would succeed in nashville that would be great. any feedback good/bad is appreciated.

I don't know much in particular about the industry, but I can tell you in general that Nashville is growing and expanding a lot and it seems like a great time to be opening new businesses here. Are there any particular groups of people you are looking for? I think there is some of everything here...

I've lived here for more than five years. If you can be more specific as to the kind of business you are thinking of opening, I can try to tell you if there are similar businesses in the area, and if (in my never-to-be-humble-opinion) I think it would succeed here. =)

I agree that Nashville is expanding rapidly and that this would be a good choice for a fitness based business. The fact that we have one of the highest obesity rates in the country doesn't hurt either. It would be great to have a fitness alternative that's not the YMCA but not a meat market either. One thing to note though, there are lots of personal training type businesses popping up all over the place already if that's what you have in mind.

For what its worth, I've been looking for gyms in the area, and haven't quite found what I'm looking for. Brentwood/Franklin is fairly far from where I am, but that area is growing like gangbusters and I can see a ton of interest in a pilates studio.

i wonder how much interest there is in fitness in that area of the country. that is my only concern. it seems to be a very affluent area and very trendy which is what i am looking for. there is a good chance i will set up the pilates business there. thanks for the info.

affluent and trendy DEFINITELY applies to Brentwood and Franklin. even in my neck of the woods (we'll say, not so affluent) there are lots of recent developments in yoga & pilates studios - I don't think you'd have any trouble making a go of it.
