Yes, GIS mapping has proven to be quite robust. The health department also tracks rates of HIV infection by zip code, so maps can be generated likewise.
I like maps. Perhaps we can employ GIS for Yelp purposes. A map for the best beverages in town, to help one's barhopping ways?

I don't own an Iphone, but for those of you who do, have you tried out the Yelp iphone app? it's pretty damn cool--I know Gilbert A would love it!

I have not tried it, but my friend has. If you have one of the newer GPS (or pseudo GPS) models, it can automatically pull up things that are near you. Apparently, you can narrow by category and even what's open.

A very interesting map. I've just spent the past hour googling the names of the victims and finding out what happened. Very creepy, but I couldn't stop myself. And I bookmarked both for later perusal. Hmm.
