I'm heading to Minneapolis tomorrow for a conference, and I'm looking for good places to eat in the not-so-pricey, not-so-fancy range. I'm a big fan of visiting local faves when I travel, so I figured my trusty Yelping colleagues would be able to help. :)
In a perfect world, I'm looking for places that are easy to get to on foot/public transit (tips on buses/trains welcome!), and would be good for groups of people (as group food is inevitable at conferences). I'm figuring the good stuff will be away from the conference center, which is totally cool.
Judging from the other threads I've read, and some stuff I saw on Food Network, I'd like to hit Aura and Psycho Suzi's for sure. What are your picks?
Thanks!

Hmm . . .
Psycho Suzi's a little off the beaten track, but apparently the 11 bus goes by there. metrotransit.org will help you with the details. I always think the place is worth the haul.
Other places you might try are the Loring Pasta Bar (the food is nothing special, but it's cheap and the place is one heck of a piece of eye candy), and Joe's Garage (a little pricier there). Those both strike me as transit accessible and good for groups.
That's what pops into my head.

Thanks for the recs, Ralph. While I know that Nye's is considered a "best bar" and all that, I'm looking for something a little less crowded/hectic, and on a Friday night to boot (yeah, I know, asking for the world, yadda yadda), and these sound right up my alley.
I'm guessing there'll be a bunch of places I hit on my own or in smaller groups, too, so any recs for those kindsa places would be awesome. :)

Nicollet Ave (aka "Eat Street") -- decent Indian food at New Delhi, German fare at the Black Forest Inn, tons of Vietnamese (try Jasmine -- it's small, but cheap -- or it's sister restaurant Jasmine 26 around the corner for slightly more upscale food or Quang for noodles that are off the hook), an array of Mexican places, and loads more. Also check out the Midtown Global Market -- it's got a sort of "food court" -- but that doesn't do it justice. Best Mexican Tortas, Middle Eastern Food, Italian sandwiches, and loads more all in one place. You'll have to go to the bar there to get drinks, but for a mid-day meal, it's a great place to go and you can see all the great stuff that Minneapolis has to offer.

On a Friday night Loring Pasta Bar and Psycho Suzi's will be busy. Walking up and down Eat Street until you find something you like is a great idea.
