I'm curious...
The laundromat seems to be a staple in the existence of a renter in San Fransisco; there are all sorts of perturbations on the theme...machines that accept credit cards, laundromats with bars, etc. But I don't see too many laundromats here. My house has a washer and dryer; I'm wondering though, where do the majority of Yelpers do laundry? Do you use a laundromat? Is it clean? Do you feel safe there? Is it open 24 hours?

I dunno where everyone else does their laundry, but I have a washer and dryer in the bathroom 2 feet away.

Judy, I suspected that most people in L.A. have access to a washer/dryer in their own home or apartment complex...
It's a shame, though...the laundromat with the bar is a great idea :-)

Laundry cuts into my drinking time! Laundry bar would solve everything!

Wow, I thought I was the only one who ever thought of a laundry mat/bar. Hmm, guess I didn't factor in there are drunker people than me.
I think most people in LA do have access to their own machines. Or their apartment does. I don't know who can afford to send out their clothes regularly though besides basic dry cleaning but I try to avoid dry cleaning.

Well, it's actually a good idea...the laundromat/bar...or the laundromat/internet cafe...or the laundromat/something. Businesses need to get on the multitasking bandwagon.

Home.
There used to be a bar / laundromat in Manhattan Beach, but went out of business. They could not advertise ...

I don't know if I would want to do my laundry drunk in public -- what about your "unmentionables"?

beth... they then become "mentionable"..

Lucy's laundromats are multi-purpose places, and a lot of laundromats in LA have Internet terminals and/or Wi-Fi.
I forgot where I read it, but there's some sort of "fancy" laundromat somewhere on the westside that's kind of a lounge and credit cards are accepted? I'm not sure.
There's a laundromat one block over from my house (we have a washer and dryer in the house), and two doors down there's a bar. Every now and again, my roommate and I go down to meet up with our neighbor at the bar when he's doing laundry.

I know some girls that moved away that used to go to a place on sunday because they played "The Beatles" all day that day! how cool is that?

I reviewed this laundromat long ago, and now it's gone. The whole plaza is being torn down
http://www.yelp.com/bi...Wish I had taken more photos of those murals.
I notice there are reviews of laundromats in the column to the right of my review.
I got washer/dryer at home, Christopher. Big front-loaders! haha
It always creeped me out to use public machines. I would run an empty load with disinfectant (the kind that kills staph) before I used any machine.
I used to talk to the attendant at the laundromat on Montana Ave. in SaMo and she told me stuff that was so gross.....like how people bring stuff to public machines that they don't want contaminating their machines at home. I can go into more detail, but it's really gross, all about body fluids, sick people, and such.....

I won't go into more details, but if you just think about it....you will realize you gotta carefully disinfect the machines before you use them.

Yeah renting in SF sucks. I hate going 4 blocks and over a busy 19th avenue with my laundry.
