10/27/2010I'm the last person to give people any kind of such advice. BUT... here's what happened.
First, I've never had even had an overdraft issue, never been overdrawn, no other account problems, just so we're clear. And I loved using the Bill-Pay thing that Chase uses which immediately reduces (or "Funds") the bill payment amount from your available balance so you don't have to keep balancing your account till the bill-pay item posts.
So this is what happened.
October 10 - Someone in a whole different state went on a POS -- read again "POS" (point of sale) shopping spree with my card at some Wal-mart and other places. How this is possible without cloning one's card god only knows seeing I had never left California. A quick google will show a lot of people are having their cards counterfeited at Wal-marts. Again, no idea why "Wal-mart"
The Fraud department calls me to report suspicious activity -- "Wow" how nice of them. I call the number the automated system tells me to call. Quite apparently, its in the PHILLIPINES... and Communications is a nightmare... Their call center is even worse than any I have talked to in INDIA! I tell them transactions are not mine. They go ahead and file a claim... and I am given temporary credit.
Well, a few days later the Claim was denied and not only is all the money taken back, their Loss Prevention Department CLOSED MY CHECKING AND SAVINGS Account!!! Apparently I am a risk to their bank.... through zero fault of my own. If I had known this, I would have even paid off the fraudulent transactions and never even filed a claim.
Everything gone. Spent the last couple of days being tossed between the Fraud and the Claims dept with both sides just passing the parcel back and forth. Nothing resolved and there is nothing I can do about it.
Learn people. I have never in my life experienced anything like this. Even the manager at my branch, that used to be WAMU before, became stone-faced when I tried to reason with her. Every single rep I tried to talk to would suddenly become robotic-like stone-faced or still-voiced as if something really weird was turning them that way all of a sudden. No one would help me.
Close your account before something like this happens to you. Its not worth taking such chances with your money. -

10/27/2010Dude no... why do you say that? I have a separate checking for Entertainment/Dining purposes at Wells Fargo they seem to be way nicer and personal. Like I said I have never experienced anything like the interaction I have had the last few days.
Are you understanding what I'm saying??? They closed my checking and savings because of a counterfeit card someone else cloned and used illegally in a whole different state. I mean its one thing to make me pay for it, but to shut down all my accounts?? -

10/27/2010Tom, I'm not sure what will happen next but pretty sure they won't (or legally can't) keep my money.
But for now, they have put both my checking and savings account balances at negative (-$10,000) which means they are frozen completely. -

10/27/2010I always thought they did have fraud protection :/ :( I'm so miffed you guys have no idea.
They should have insurance against this type of stuff. Believe me, I'm not even short on cash but imagine this happening to some unemployed person out there.
Like I said, I would have even paid the for the fraudulent transactions if that meant keeping my accounts open, I never thought they would be penalizing me for filing a claim which is supposed to be what they tell you to do. -

10/27/2010Did they close and cancel u as a customer? Or did they close one acct number and assign u a new one?
While that is a PITA for bill pay, it is neccessary once your acct has been breached -

10/27/2010No they cancelled me as a customer and closed all my banking accounts.
Apparently it was The Loss Prevention Department that did it.
I have appealed telling them they're insane for cancelling our business relationship over a few out-of-state transactions that don't even add up to more than a few hundred dollars. I finally got to one sympathetic ear-drum who said he would have this investigated, but so far I have my doubts about this. -

10/27/2010I have heard of banks closing/freezing accounts if fraud is detected. In most cases, you get your money recovered, and you are issued a new account number. But your situation sounds weird. I have never heard of a case where they totally kick a customer to the curb. I think you're leaving out some information. Or perhaps you didn't ask the right questions when you spoke with the fraud department.
And yeah, I tell people to never use their debit cards. I mean, all the news stories you here about card skimming deals with ATM machines and debit cards. So it makes sense not to use them right? And all credit cards have a set limit for fraud liability. If someone jacks your card and goes on a spending spree, you're only responsible for $200 or $300. In some cases, they will waive it. But it really depends on how nice they are. -

I don't get charged for anything, I've been with them for 10 years and haven't ever had a problem that wasn't my fault, and I can count them in two fingers! They have always took care of me and tried to help me with what ever issues I have. They all know me and everyone is very friendly!

10/27/2010Hmmm...i had chase credit card before but I cancelled it coz they have too much fees which didn't make sense. I have US Bank and Bank of America for my checking/debit and I too was a victim of fraudulent transactions (4 different times) but were resolved with no hassles on my part. No overdraft fee or cancellation or closing of accounts happened. Sucks to be you.

10/27/2010RR and Kenneth, I swear I'm not leaving anything out. This is EXACTLY what happened... they called me when they suspected fraudulent activity on the 10th, I called them back and upon hearing my card was being used in various different Wal-marts in DIFFERENT states AT THE SAME TIME, I obviously told them these were not my transactions. I think I must add that one HUGE problem is the communication with their claims department in the Phillipines, the lines are horrible and the English spoken is overwhelmingly terrible to understand, and one wonders if the same is happening the other way around with us being understood or not.
They, then, did indeed send me out a new card, transactions were credited temporarily but all of this was reversed a week later and I was told the claim had been denied and I was found responsible -- OKAY I GOT IT, I WOULD HAVE TO PAY for those transactions which sucked but it was what it was -- but then I woke up this morning to find my accounts -$10,000 in the negative I was told it was because my claims had been denied and after that the loss prevention department had frozen and canceled my accounts due to the claims being denied as they considered ME a risk.
Look, I'm not leaving anything out of what I said above. I have never heard of anything like this so extreme either, but after I googled these circumstances quite obviously others have gone through this, ESPECIALLY old Washington Mutual (WAMU) customers, which I was, which were bought out by Chase, and as you can tell from those links people have been trying to file Class Action Lawsuits but in the end it doesn't help my situation that they have caused me such a great amount of hassle and ordeal. Now I have to start scrambling and run to getting my bill-payments set up elsewhere for the coming month.
Look, its their bank in the end and its their prerogative to cancel their banking relationship at anytime, but its not the action I cite -- it is because the reason is so incredibly stupid! .. And that they won't even budge or reconsider except for that one last person I begged to look at my long history with them. I also had them back when I was living in New York City and left them closing an account in good standing.
On a separate note, I liked using Debit Cards, because I spend a great amount of cash outside on Food and Entertainment, and they helped keep track of what I spending on, down to the very last drink at a bar. I was able to separate bills and entertainment expenses a lot easier this way.
I'm going to check out US Bank down the road tomorrow and move my assets. -

10/28/2010call Chase Fraud Department -- when you're routed to the Philippines, ask them to route you back to a US-based service representative in the Fraud Department. if they ask you why, tell them you've had your account wrongfully closed and you've been having communication problems between you and the Philippines for the past couple days. they will then transfer your call back to the US.
if transactions are happening in multiple States at the same time at actual POS systems, it's a fairly easy (clear-cut) case and you should have your accounts reinstated and your funds returned to you. if transactions are being done in various states via internet purchases, it may become a little more complicated, but it should still be easy to establish where (state/county/city) the purchases originated from via I.P. address.
just be clear and sure that the transactions which are in question are ALL fraudulent transactions and not mistakenly one of your own because it may come back to shit on your case with Chase. -

10/28/2010when will people learn. only keep money in the bank that you are willing to lose. It's not like it's a safe and secure location. Once your money is in their bank they treat it like their own, ala investing, etc. Even when you feel like it is your money, when you take out money from the bank they treat your like it's a loan or some shit.

10/28/2010@ Jason G. the issue isn't about the bank losing his money or failing to give him money he's asking for (ie. a bank closing down) -- the bank knowingly closed his account based upon claims of foul play. J M is saying that he's the victim of fraud/theft, his bank thinks otherwise. the issue is still pretty fresh seeing how J M said that Chase closed his account yesterday, so i have a feeling that this will be cleared up eventually.
plus, J P Morgan Chase & Co. is a HUGE financing company -- their banks are FDIC insured -- if J P Morgan Chase & Co. went under all of a sudden, there would be more things to worry about with our nation than a bank with your money. -

I spoke with many managers and finally they took the time to research the account it was there fault after many man hours on the phone and back in forth to the back I finally get my money back but they fucked my credit.

10/28/2010You know Chase has account text alerts - you can set them for any amount. I've set mine at $20, so any time a transaction (which is really mostly my autopay and when I use the ATM) I get a text within 1-2 seconds alerting me of the transaction.
I'm saying this, because if anyone has a chase account, and you use it often, getting a text every time a transaction takes place by your or a cloned card will minimize your damages. Think about it- when they go to wal-mart they usually spend over $200 to being with -and you getting a text saying you just spent $200 at a wal-mart without doing anything is when you can call chase and say "Hey - that ain't me!" -

10/28/2010I think the default alert is $100, but I lowered it to $20 just in case someone is smart enough to always purchase "little" amount of under $100 several times. The odds of someone using it for less than $20 (other than a test run) is low.

10/28/2010I also recently got my Chase debit card cloned. Whoever did it spent $170 POS at a Target.
I discovered it the night it happened (I check my online banking almost obsessively) and Chase Fraud Detection sent me an email alert the next morning when I was getting ready to call them anyway. The call took 2 mins and within two weeks, I got a new card, the investigation was complete and I had my money back.
I'm really sorry to hear your situation turn into such a nightmare and hopefully this gets resolved soon.
Now I'm wondering if I should switch banks if debit card fraud is going to be a recurring thing with Chase. The strange thing is, I almost always use my credit card for purchases and never my debit card, so I have no idea how it got cloned. -

10/28/2010Watch out when using an ATM. Thieves place thin devices over the card slot that look like they are part of the machine but are cloning devices. They read your card on the way through and you don't even know It because the ATM still works. I only use a credit card because you are protected, with a debit card, not so. My one checking account is with a credit union. You can now pay almost all bills online so I hardly ever write a check.

10/28/2010My understanding is that Chase is no longer participating in the FDIC program as of the end of this year:
"Beginning January 1, 2010, JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. will no longer participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. As a result, after December 31, 2009, funds held in non-interest bearing transaction accounts and IOLTA, IOLA and IOTA accounts will no longer be guaranteed in full under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program. However, until December 31, 2010, these accounts will be insured up to $250,000 per depositor under the FDIC's general deposit rules."

10/28/2010@ Jay, Yes indeed the transactions were (strangely) actual POS transactions happening in different states at the same time, so you're right it should be a pretty clear cut case, so its not even like they were being done over the internet which makes it harder to point blame.
And yes, Jay you are correct here "the bank knowingly closed his account based upon claims of foul play. J M is saying that he's the victim of fraud/theft, his bank thinks otherwise.."
@ Refined Steel: Yes, it was Negative Ten Thousand; apparently that is the number the debit amount they put on your account when they are about to freeze and close it.
I'm on the phones again today, playing passing the parcel between the Fraud/Loss Prevention and the Claims department (which initiated the closure request for "Claim Abuse") -- both sides are blaming the other party. So much for coordination. -

10/28/2010I can't say I had ever had any issues with them ever before. Like I said I was becoming a big fan of the online Bill-pay system and the way it works there. I don't recall having any issues with them when I was with them in Manhattan, NYC either.. I only left because I chose to go with a free checking account with HSBC back then.
I did call two of their nearby branches... One branch manager on La Brea near hung-up on me saying I had to call the OLP Dept. The other one on Sunset said they couldn't do anything if I came in except put me on the phone to the same departments I had been calling. I believed them.
Look, I'm peeved but I'm not bitter. Its their prerogative to choose who they do business with... But if this kind of crap can happen to me and then they are so unrenegable about it that everything falls on deaf ears then it can happen to others too. -

10/28/2010@ Janea: Well, gosh, I do hope my physical Rent Check through the online bill pay goes through. Customer Service says it should since once you send out a physical check through bill-pay, the money gets moved to a corporate account immediately (the feature I liked), so it should get paid... Fingers crossed. Last thing I want is my landlord calling me with a tossed check.
BTW: Not sure what kept me trying, but I just got in touch with someone in the Chase Executive Branch, who says she'll have someone look into this and get back to me. But who knows. If she can sort out this mess, then kudos to her, and I'll be really impressed and even send her flowers.
In the meantime, I am already looking at other options. -

Alas, wish I had come back with a better ending, but even the Executive branch wouldn't help reason with me and my accounts are still being closed. Then I just came across the following post online and know that sometimes when companies or people do bad things to us, they are actually doing us a favor by ridding themselves. Better right now than if I had been on the road traveling for work and no way to pay my bills.

Chase Bank Complaints - CLOSED MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT NOTICE

CLOSED MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT NOTICE
CHASE BANK
California
United States
I recently had a problem using my Chase Debit card while making a purchase. A few hours later I called the automated recording to check my balance since I knew I had available funds and to my surprise, the recording said I was negative $39 Million dollars! I then called the banks 800 number and asked what happened. They then connected me with an "account specialist" who really had no answer for me. All she said was that "Chase has made a decision to end the relationship with my account and will be closing it" ! I said what!!! Why, whats the reason? No answer was given other than I will be getting a letter in the mail. I had a few transactions that had not cleared and she did not care about them and said, "well- they just wont get paid"
My wife then called also and they gave her the run around with no answers either! Finally, after the weekend passed my wife went into our local branch to speak with the bank manager and was a total ASS!
She said that she strongly suggested I keep our money there til our recent transactions cleared or we will get an overdraft. My wife said " you guys are the ones that are closing our accounts after being with the same account number for 15 years, through Great Western, WAMU and now Chase and they treat us like this !!! With no explaination?? I just also found out that 5 people I know had the same thing happen to them. And no answers either for them!! What the Hell is going on here? Can anyone explain or have a theory or maybe happened to you as well??

11/5/2010Hey JM
Sorry to hear this happened to you. It just happened to me this week as well and they are closing my account under the guise of some kind of fraudulent claim, and no one has been willing to help me.
My strangely weird out-of-state fraud transactions which appeared out of nowhere never got reimbursed either and instead they are closing my account, and I have had to pay THEM for all the overdraft fees and further extended overdraft fees (all left due to the fraudulent transactions) to bring the account to zero before they close it, so that I don't have an account that was closed by the bank which had been left with a negative balance.
What a complete nightmare, especially since I had just moved all my bills there. Might write more later.
DO NOT WAIT TILL THIS HAPPENS TO YOU!! RUN! ...This bank has no integrity. -

The day that the money was refunded (today) I go to use my card and it was declined. I Called the costumer service number and was told my account was closed and I was a risk. I Am going to get my money in the morning I hope. This Is ridiculous. How is this legal thank god I have another bank but I wrote checks on that account. I Have banked with them for years I'm devastated. Please please stay away from chase

11/9/2010i applied for a home loan through chase. they are crooks. i hate them. the ordeal ended with me telling the loan rep that i didn't blame her, i felt sorry for her because she had to work for such a horrible institution. it took them 6 months to deny my loan (because of an issue with the house...nothing to do with me) and they kept their $600 "application fee"...I got another loan within 10 days. No application fee.

12/9/2010Hey all, turns out my husband and I are a victim of credit card fraud. Chase texted us last night asking if we spent $1052 at BJs last night. Turns out someone made 2 face to face transactions at BJs one for the grand and another for $988 so we're talking 2 grand. Weird thing is that neither my husband or myself have lost our debit card - how is a face to face transaction made with no card? We are not even members of BJs nor have we ever stepped foot in one. Called Chase, they cant do anything until the transactions are posted, then they say file a claim, then they will temporarily credit the account while they conduct investigation. I asked them 3 seperate times if they can guarantee i will get my money and they cant. they said if BJs validates the transactions then basically we're out 2 grand. I cant see how BJs can validate these transactions though but still i'm worried. My question is, once Chase credits our account can i go into Chase and withdraw all of our money and close the account while the investigation is still in progress??? I can not risk losing this money and taking it all out asap after the credit is issued is the only think i can think of.....Help :0(

Have you called the police yet? BTW, BJ's isn't a membership type of business since it's a public pizza/brewery restaurant. I don't see how the suspect was even able to spend that much money at that restaurant. -

12/9/2010Rebecca: Cards can get cloned... there's been a lot of cases recently of high-tech thieves installing disguised card scanners on ATM readers and gas pump readers that copy your card's information before the thief comes back later to remove the device and the data. You're not out the money even if it is a couple of grand, because if someone paid via the Visa or Mastercard function of your card, there's a law in place that protects you against being held liable for fraudulent transactions using the card, even if it's tied to a bank account and not credit. You are responsible for reporting it ASAP.
Also, due to the amount of money (not sure what the threshold is for grand theft), it might be practical for you to file a police report ASAP as well as reporting it to the bank, the sooner the better since they might want to review surveillance tapes for that amount of $. -

12/10/2010Hey guys, I filed a police report yesterday, less than 24 hours after it had happend. Just checked bank account and charges have now posted. I will be calling Chase in a few minutes to get the claim form (theyy wouldnt send me one until charges were posted). I will keep you guys posted.
@Chris "Now I'm feeling so fly like a G6" E. says - BJs is a whole sale club here in NY. They sell everything from clothes to electronics to food in bulk so this person would have had no problem spending 2 grand there - at all. In order to shop at a whole sale club you need to be a member. -

12/15/2010THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME TOO!!! THEY ARE CLOSING ALL OF MY ACCOUNTS I'VE HAD FOR YEARS! (previously with wamu)
Someone in the midwest used my debit cards to make 2-3 Face-to-Face or what they call POS (point of sales) transactions at a Wal-Mart which is impossible since I never left California and the card was in my wallet the whole time. Chase Fraud Protection notified me over the weekend about this since my card was being used in two states simultaneously, so I told them to shut down my card and issue me a new one... then I called their Claims department to tell them the charges were not mine, well the charges that were not mine were still pending so the idiots in their off-shore call center filed the claim for the wrong charges and issued temporary credit -- as soon as I saw this I called them back to tell them they issued credit for the wrong charges and they told me they couldn't do anything with the other charges as they were still pending.
Meanwhile all this time I'm at a negative balance incurring fees.
Well finally 4 days later the charges post and I call to have the claim filed for the correct charges, and the next day wake up to find both my accounts 9,999.99 ($10,000) in the negative!!! Turns out they are shutting down all my accounts with them for "filing too many claims" and their fraud department considers me a risk!! WTF???? What did I DO wrong here???
To top it all off my claims have been denied and I now have to pay them whatever negative balance was left on the account. This is completely insane! I have talked to numerous reps in various departments and all they do is suddenly go silent and they just stop talking and become curt... its weird, like "Is that all, sir -- I'm sorry but I'm going to have to hang up now."
I even talked to the supervisor in their Executive Offices in Houston, Heather Joyner, and she only told me that she is CEO Jamie Dimon's end of the line and Chase Bank can choose to terminate their relationship at anytime at their own discretion and there is absolutely nothing that can be done.
Someone please shut this bank down. This is downright criminal to enter an agreement to do business with someone and then treat honest people this way for doing the right thing and nothing wrong. I am still reeling from whatever repercussions this may have in my immediate future.
SHUT YOUR ACCOUNT DOWN! DON'T WAIT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU!! Its just not worth it!!
[I'm already looking at Citibank who have just started a Free checking option. Chase was going to start charging $10/mo anyway starting Feb 2011.] -

12/15/2010You'd better take it out soon, PD.
Starting February 2011, all accounts which don't meet the minimum requirements will be charged a $10/month fee. I found out by chance, but you can ask at any branch and they will confirm this, they are just not advertising it at all, perhaps hoping to ding a whole bunch of people with fees before they close their account.
(for now, I would at least close your debit card so this doesn't happen to you where someone starts charging your debit card.) -

1/25/2011As of January 1st 2011 CHASE banks have begun to randomly shut down checking and savings accounts of there customers. the accounts are being closed for a period of one to two weeks. with no notice or warning at all. in this one to two week period your account is CLOSED. you cant touch anything. in order to re-open your account you must meet with your branch manager after the one to two week period. where you are issued a new account number and debit card.....the branch managers have no idea why this is happening! corporate isn't telling them anything.. this has happened to two of my close friends since the first of the year, and complaints are being posted all over the internet....get out now people. put your funds in a CREDIT UNION

1/25/2011This happens EVERYWHERE!
In my life I have banked with BofA, Chase, US Bank and Wells Fargo and something like this has happened at every single one of them.
It's just like people who say Ford makes shit cars because they've had a problem with their Ford. Believe me, there are problems out there with every company...you're not alone and switching banks won't save you! -

1/25/2011I had my B of A card cloned and used at an ATM in Northridge or Calabasas or something to clean me out of several thousand dollars.
Amazingly (because I never go to ATMs and hardly ever use cash) I'd hit up a B of A ATM literally moments before this assclown all but drained my account to pull some cash out to pay the valet at the restaurant where I was headed. An hour and a half later I had another legitimate charge down the street at a restaurant. B of A emailed and called me in the morning notifying me of my low balance and the fraud alert, and didn't have any problem believing it was mighty unlikely that I'd withdrawn some twenties from my account, somehow spirited myself 60 miles away within 15 minutes to withdraw a few grand, and make it back to We Ho to close out a $50 dinner tab an hour later.
My debit card number was changed, and I had to live on the cash I'd withdrawn. The first day I couldn't withdraw any money, even in person, from the bank, as my account took 24 hours to be refunded. The next day I could go in and withdraw cash but it was "temporary" meaning if I was found to be responsible for the charges I'd owe them any negative balance due.
Of course, I wasn't found responsible, and I was issued a new card for all the charges. Whole thing took about 3 days. -

1/26/2011@ SocalSkipp I also have checking accounts at BofA, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Schwab, and now as a result of my account shutdown, I have since moved to Citibank; and I can SWEAR that nothing has even begun to come close with my absolutely disastrous experience at Chase. NOTHING. I only use Wells Fargo for limited purposes but for all of the other above accounts there was nothing that ever happened that wasn't eventually resolved by my branch manager *(the worst thing I can remember is when I was hit with 4 $35 overdraft fees at BofA on a monday for Debit Charges from over the weekend, and that brought my account in the negative, which compounded the same problem the following day for FOUR days because my card was blocked and I couldn't make a deposit! HOWEVER, even that peculiarly bizzare situation which is really too much to get into in detail here, like I said when I had no where else left to go/complain, my branch manager at the North Hollywood location took control and reversed all $240 or so in overdraft fees.
So in short, being with Chase is an overly temerarious and hazardous situation where you are only biding your time until something shitty happens. My utmost sincere advice would be to research another institution and go through the teething pains expected to set up a new account elsewhere. Trust me you don't want to be traveling or be in the middle of nowhere or out on a weekend or at the beginning of the month when bills are due and have this happen to you. I can assure you that when this happens the following weeks are conclusively nightmarish and unconditionally brutal. I actually had a near bout with depression because of all the problems that multiplied as a result of my Chase account closure. I wouldn't wish the situation I had to go through on everyone. And the original poster J.M. was right in that there was no recourse.
@P "the euro" D, I don't understand why you haven't received the notice Chase sent out in November. All Chase customers were sent a notice telling them about the new policy for the new year (although it had already been posted on this Talk page on Yelp way earlier) and that there would now be a monthly service charge unless you meet certain requirements. If you only have $0.78 sents in your account and never use it then yes, expect to shell out $10; or rather when they take out the $10 and your account goes in the negative a heck of a lot more with the overdraft fees that will be coming your way. -

1/26/2011I have had accounts at 4 of the major banks and so far I prefer Chase, but I'm much better with my money than I was in college or high school. All of the big banks will screw you though. What happened to the guy up top, he can sue the bank and will win 10 times out of 10.

Go in the beginning of the month on a week day. Avoid weekend at all cost u will b the 50th person walking in to ask fir a fee 2 b waived Tuesday morn is best. I know I worked in the branch of another bank.

2/2/2011I can't say for sure, but based on what the original poster says, he might have been "swiped" by an RFID reader. Easy thing to do and whoever steals the card no. doesn't even have to see it or touch it. Chase put this tech into their ATM and Credit Cards quite some time ago, but for the most part, people are clueless about it. Demand a NON-RFID card to avoid this problem!

2/2/2011chase cards don't carry card info via RFID; OP was either skimmed or had track2/track1 taken from the hacked point of service and then written onto another card with an encoder (i.e. msr206).
by the way, it's illegal for chase to do that according to federal law; you are only liable for $50 and no more.

2/2/2011Most people who gripe about banks are broke asses who continually over draw their account or get fees for failing to keep the minimum balance. I have accounts at chase and wells Fargo. No issues with either.

2/24/2011Tammy, before you bitch and moan about people with complaints being broke asses who overdraw their account, please properly read the post and topic before forcing your unrelated stupid ignorant thoughts onto the rest of us. Poster and others have clearly stated their cards were "cloned" and Chase denied their claims and instead designated them a bank risk and shut down their accounts.
Rob what you said actually made a lot of sense as it doesn't make sense how a card can be present in one state and make it across the country to some obscure town in less than 90 minutes and then make it back to the original state an hour later; but then I read what Tim wrote and that made sense too. Tim, I know its illegal for Chase to do this, but do I have the time to sue them or do anything about it?? ....Honestly, I can't even get to my laundry getting done these days so I just sucked it up and forked it out, opened an account at Citibank and forgot about them.
F*&+! them and the people running their show and if there is any justice in the world than they will get it in their personal and professional lives.
