If my roommate would agree, I would have put up the Christmas Tree in October. She thinks I'm crazy.
Slowly I've been putting out little Christmas decorations. A candle here, a string of lights on the balcony...she hasn't noticed yet. If I could find my Christmas CDs I'd be playing them already.
Are there any other Christmas freaks out there like myself?
Any scroodges who despise the commercialization of the season?
Are there any holiday traditions you can't wait for?

I like Christmas but we don't go too crazy with the decorations. I'm looking more forward to Thanksgiving :)

we used to have THE dustiest christmas stuff and every year I'd be put in charge of decorating, which would be way more fun if I wasn't allergic to dust mites... but my favorite part is plugging in all the lights when you're finally done.
also, my mom got us these awesomely stretchy stockings years ago and she still stuffs them for me and my sisters. Stretchy is good because one year my parents put a CD player in my stocking : ) And my mom always signs everything "Love, Santa."

Monica, I'm totally with you! Christmas is the absolute best time of year. Christmas music, sweaters, lights, PRESENTS, tamales (at least at my house), warm cozy socks, pretty decorations inside the church, santa hats, poinsettias, the smell of pine... what is there not to love?
I've already starting playing my Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera Christmas CD's (hey, the both have beautiful voices, ok?!... sorry, I always feel like I have to defend myself for owning both of these albums)
anyway, Christmas RULES

Elena: Yes, the tamale assembly line!!! In my family it was always all the females who were in charge of the tamales, even the young one had a part.
You could always tell which tamales were assembled after the alcoholic drinks were served because they lacked a certain quality. They were still tasty though!

hmm, my Mexican-Am friend's dad makes all the tamales himself, bc her mom only knows how to fry things and nothing else. He's a very good cook though.

mmm christmas tamales.... I really wish I learned how to make my grandmothers great tamales while she still knew how to make them.... but back on topic....
as a child my sister and I would listen to christmas music all year if allowed... thus a strict rule was was created at our house..... no christmas music until after thanksgiving.... (meaning the minute the pumpkin pie plates were being cleared from the table the christmas albums/cassettes/8tracks were being pulled out of the closet)
