my friend and i are going on a road trip and spending the night (2 nights total actually because of going there and coming back) in little rock in the la quinta downtown. we dont plan on really doing much aside from maybe just doing things walking distance from the hotel, getting good food, and going to fun bars.

i guess i have 2 questions:
1. any restaurants we just need to try? assuming we each just get an entree and iced tea we would each max spend up to 15 bucks.
2. any fun bars for people in their 20s-30s that we can just go to wearing jeans, a tank top, and flip flips?

oh yeah. this may make a difference but neither of us are that into meat. we will eat chicken and fish once in awhile, but nothing else.

Aw, Carlos, you are selling Little Rock short.  Check out some Mexican places.  For a good dinner/bar option check out Juanitas---they have great live music.  Also, for pizza/atmosphere/music check out vinos.

I agree with Katie, There are plenty of wonderful options to dine in. LR may not be the Dallas or New York but it also isnt the Bald Knobs and Toad Sucks of the world.

One of my favorite places to just hang out is the flying fish in the rivermarket. also bascos is a good option as well. now mind you these are not the best places, but for 15 bucks, you can get great food there..

if you wnat a true dining experience that is not over priced try Capital Bar and Grill, it is in the Lobby of the beautiful Capital hotel. You never know who you will see there either... it is the nicest hotel in the south and when in town many hip and trendy people stay there some celebrities, politicians writers, etc...

I'm thinking these people are missing it.   LR isn't the creator of any specifically wonderpus cuisine but is home to some great places for unique foods.  Layla's is a great middle eastern food place and Vino's brews thier beer and rootbeer as well as has some awesome pizza!  Also if you want a bit of everything go to the Rivermarket's Ottenheimer Hall, it's like a big food court.

U.S. Pizza Co. used to be well-known and very good in Little Rock.  I'm not sure if that reputation still stands.
