Sooo I 've never had to use a storage place before, and don't have any experience with what's good and bad. And none of the places listed on Yelp have any reviews.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Public Store (PS) chain is consistently clean, well run, secure.  Not the cheapest rates, but a good value for good service.

Are you looking for moving and storage or just storage?

My better half (see photos) is moving down from Canada and into my tiny cottage until we find another place. So now I have tons of junk that needs to go away. We're doing the uhaul thing later this month, so I just need a place to put all this stuff.

There's an interesting place out on the east coast, I think I saw something similar here once, where they send out these huge containers to your house - you fill them up and they take them away. I told my parents to do that with all my crap in their house but they didn't bite -- I think they just like complaining about it.

Then there are those huge separated storage units that look like train cars over by the dump. You get your own for $130 a month. Not sure about security there, though.

Then there are the more standard storage units...which looks like the priciest but safest option...

for as often as i ran at stanford. you would think that i could recall the name - i want to say Pod something

parents will never put your stuff in storage, it is a universal truth that all parents from here to China secretly enjoy teasing their offspring about the junk in their house that belongs to people who no longer live there

Ralph C. probably has it right.  Most parents do create bedroom shrines to the departed fledglings.   Not me!  I had the kid's bedroom converted to a home office before she arrived at her freshman year dorm room.
