Hi,
I just moved to the south bay area and would like to know some cheap places I can go for lunch, hopefully around $5.00.
Is this even possible in the bay area? In or around San Jose, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Mountain view or any of this surrounding area.
Thanks.

Tung Kee Noodle..
Key to ordering...order fast...it takes about 3 seconds for them to get seated, order, get your food, eat and pay....then they kick you out.
It's cheap here though.

Theres Good Kharma Vegan in downtown San Jose, their plates start at $5 for two items and then when you add more dishes its only $1 more, there's La Victoria Taqueria, the burritos are $4.99 and they don't charge tax. There is the Hot Dog place on First Street and their hot dogs range from $2.50-$5.00.
My favorite Chinese place is Little Chef's on Winchester in San Jose, and they serve HUGE plates and only charge like $3.
Good luck hopefully this helps!

I second the Vietnamese sandwiches. Lee's Sandwiches is an expanding chain that's easy to find.
In my opinion, Tung Kee noodle is nasty.

Amy "I am the God of Hell Fire!!" C. says:
- Kimba Vegetarian Bistro (downtown SJ)
- Dakao (downtown SJ)
- At most taco trucks in the South Bay, tacos can be had for @ $1.25.
- Taco Bravo (Campbell) Not my preferred place to eat, but it fits your criteria.
- Freshly Baked Eatery (downtown SJ) if you can splurge an extra $1.50, you'll get a wonderfully made and very fullfilling sandwich.
