So, with all this rain there's not much to do but stay indoors and work! So that leaves me wanting to go to coffee shops. I work at home, and after awhile its like cabin fever! So I need to get out. And who better than the Yelpers!

What am I looking for? First and foremost atmosphere. I'm not a finicky coffee drinker so the coffee could almost suck as far as I care. Same with the service. I'm going for a place that has nice couches to relax on. Maybe friendly people to talk to. And free wifi would be really good as well since I plan to maybe work some while I'm there

Yes, there is The Coffee Society right down the street from me. But you can't even hear yourself think in there! Not to mention being pretty much packed out any time school in is session. I do go there on occasion. Starbucks are good, but when's the last time you've been to one that made you actually want to relax and stay for a bit? Or actually had comfortable chairs? I'm looking to broaden my horizons.

Anyone wanna grab some coffee with me? :)

Check out Orchard Valley in Campbell...  They have couches, chairs/tables, and even a fireplace!  Their website is: http://www.orchardvall...

I don't think it's too far from Cupertino.  Maybe we can do a Yelp coffee social one of these days...

There are some cool coffee and even tea places in free wifi and free parking in Palo Alto, my fav hangout. The coffee has to be good though.

Check out Willow Glen Roasting company on Lincoln in San Jose (close to 280/17).  Original art on the walls, couches, tabes.  Tends to be sunny/airy, older crowd.  There's a starbucks on the corner right across the street where the trendies go.

Other good shops, although not close to you: Bay Street Coffee in Fremont, and Cafe Purgolisi on Cedar St. in Santa Cruz.

I totally -heart- Cafe Coupa in Palo Alto.  A new Italian shop also opened up near the Borders on University that is less crowded---I'm not sure if they have wifi.

Orchard Valley is nice and large.  A sort of alternative might be the Borders on Stevens Creek at San Tomas Expy?  (You can get up and stretch your legs too.)

You might want to look around for a Panera Bread.  A friend recently did a "work from home" from one around Cupertino (I think) and she loved it.

Oh, I don't know if you've heard about the increase of laptop thefts, some quite violent?  Always bring that computer lock cable with u!
