Just tonight in Lincoln Square, a guy with a shaved head, a messenger bag, and a bike--accompanied by an Asian girl with a partly shaved head--approached us about the "Green Music Fest" and claimed to be in Art Brut. He was giving out CDs and asking for donations to cover the cost of recording. He namedropped like crazy and spoke pretty much uninterrupted, giving his name as "Mike Meadows." It's a complete scam. The CD's are blank, he's not in the band. Punch this guy in the face for me--or a small reward if you can tell me where to find this guy.

Dude we ran into this same guy (almost certainly? unless there are more...) yesterday in Lakeview. Wish I would've seen this post before then! He was claiming to be in a different band, at Riot Fest. I forget which. Hope he chokes on whatever he bought with the five bucks.

He likes  to roll in Wicker Park too, cutting out pieces of Metro flyers to use as CD inserts. The people at Brooklyn Industries along with a few other WP stores are onto him and his little sidekick and won't allow them in their stores. If you see him, snap a pic so everyone knows what he looks like.

that dude tried that with me last year- said he was in kaiser Chiefs. they had just played at a club i worled at, and i knew he was def NOT in the band. i laughed at him and his broken down ass.
