I just moved here from Ohio and would really love to find a bar that regularly shows the Big Ten Network. Does anyone know of a place with good beer to catch a Buckeyes game tonight?! I keep seeing people list Michigan bars, which will come in handy when I want to see them get stomped this November, but I would really like to find an OSU friendly zone :)

Wow, that's a tough one. I'd try an uber sports bar. Try the Sports Depot in Allston.

While I'm not sure if it's an OSU friendly zone or not, try checking out The Tavern in either Porter or Central - they have tons of tvs and usually each one of them are on different sports stations. You might have some luck there.

Hey Tiffany
Game On by Fenway is the local backer bar. The Sports Depot is an awesome place to catch a game but if you want to be in a sea of scarlet and gray come to Game On. We're always open to new friends!!! :)

I-O!
It sucks that shirts from my favorite t-shirt company, based out of Ohio, are now being sold in Urban Outfitters.

Coolidge Corner Clubhouse in Brookline is your best bet

Game On - Ohio State
McGreevys - USC
The Greatest Bar - Tennessee
The Greatest Bar - Minnesota
(Coolidge Corner Clubhouse was the worst suggestion ever)

I was wrong, the Sports Depot is the worst suggestion ever.

Seems like Game On is your place... check with alumni associations for this type of thing - and also, prepare for PSU to kick your a$$ ;)

Also, consider checking out BC games for a small (very small, as compared to what you're used to) school D1 football game/tailgate. I went to the recent College GameDay gave vs. Florida St. It was a blast and a great game. Going this weekend too.

Thanks Emily G. for that link! Before I posted this, I searched forever to find an alumni association in the area, and the one web site I found had a contact email that didn't work, otherwise I never would have bothered Yelpers about it. Thank you everyone for your wonderful suggestions! I really do appreciate it :)

Thurman Grill for a Thurman burger (or the thurminator if you dare!). Schmidts for a bahama mama. There are a ton of chains in that area, but some are good chains (IMO) like Bob Evans (I love eating breakfast there). If you're going to be there on a game day, definitely hang around the stadium area, it's a total scene ... I've spent some quality time at the varsity club on game days.

I am going to the Canes game in Columbus on Sept 11th. What is there to do in that area?

Yeah, I've never been around any other large football school on gameday to compare, but it's an impressive sight.

Sept 11th 2010, Miami at OSU. Should be a classic game. I go to every Marque Miami Game every year. It is never to early to book hotel rooms on game weekends. Some of this small towns book up pretty quick.

Down w/ Ohio Buckeyes. We Penn Staters only route for you when you play Wolverines. Have you contacted the local alumni chapter?

Ohhh... Greg, I thought you were referring to the Carolina Hurricanes ..My bad :) I wasn't thinking that far ahead I guess, but that's awesome that you are going!
Yeah, I had found a Ohio State Alumni Association of Greater Boston, but the web site hadn't been updated since 2007 and the contact email was no longer a valid email address. So I was hoping I could get fast answers on Yelp, but Emily G. hooked me up with a better link, so now I'm all set!
