Throw it away. Not in your kitchen trash. Somewhere far, far away from you or anyone who has a sense of smell

Can you tell I don't like Durian?
But really, you can make ice cream with it, or just eat it. I'm sure if you google it you'll find other recipes.

If you decide to open it and eat it then you'd better make sure you do that outside or else open up all your windows because you home will stink for months. Durian is actually suppose to be pretty good frozen, kind of like orange juice cubes. So after you open it you can also freeze it.

I made durian ice cream and cakes many times and definitely loved it. The smell of it will depend on people- some love it, some hate it.
You can eat it as is or freeze it a bit to make it harder. There's a bakery in chinatown that sells sponge cake layered with durian and cream. So yummy!

oh yeah, make sure you don't have people over for a while (or open it somewhere isolated), or else they'll think you have a dead body/animal laying around in your home. enjoy!

What species of durian? There are over 60 types.
I really don't know what I'm talking about. I just had no clue what a durian was, and I looked it up online. Actually there might only be 30 types of durian... I can't read or write.

Wow, that fruit sounds particularly unappetizing.
Let us know how it goes.

ah! I've bought a durian- but I didn't know it was called that. It is a strange strange thing! We were just in an Asian grocery and couldn't resist getting the thing. I didn't think it smelled that bad. And it was oddly tasty... maybe I've revealed too much...

Thing is, I'm not 100% sure what species, but I think it's a Thai durian. I'll definitely keep you folks updated on how it goes. I mean, if all else fails, I'll have found the BEST HALLOWEEN PRANK EVER.
Seriously. Nevermind smashing pumpkins. Cut one of these bad boys open and hide it under someone's porch! You can only imagine the look on their faces when they find the "alien fruit" sitting under there.
Thanks for your help, yelp. I'm gonna eat it raw this time around, but if it goes well I'll hit up them recipes.

Yeh. Mebbe wedge it into the exhaust manifold on the car of your least favorite person.
I've had good durian shakes, but it turns out that they tasted good because they had hardly any durian in them.

I hope you refrigerated or froze it before you opened it. It helps kill the smell when it's cold. I love to eat durian raw (unlike most of the people in this thread I see), and when it's frozen or cold it barely smells!

Pete S. says:
The manifold? No need to go under the hood -- just stick some up under the dashboard. The smell will so confound them they'll sell the car in desparation! (Remember the Seinfeld episode with the car smell that wouldn't go away? You guessed it -- durian.)
