Hey fine folks,

I have a good handle on where to buy used CDs, but what about selling them? Who have you guys made the most money off of, for both CDs and used books? Who's especially stingy with buying? I have to do some trimming of my collection, and I'd like to get the most bang for my buck.

Yeah, that's where you sort of get screwed - the selling CD's part. Do you have time and energy enought o deal with eBay? B/c if you are selling more off the beaten path type stuff you might do ok there. I'm a wicked stingy buyer and will often wait to find soemthing used.

For books, Brookline Booksmith gave me a lot more than I though I would get this summer when I unloaded a few bozes there. I'd try them first.

For CDs... I don't really know what to say, except... good luck?

Half.com for books.  I think it is affiliated with ebay, but a lot of my friends have earned a bunch from them.  Abe.com is another one I used to use when I worked for an auction house and had to price/appraise some of the used books lying around...Other book nerds wandering the gallery seconded Abe...
