Ok, folks. It's been months since we've gotten together to play some trivia.
I'm giving a week of notice, and sending us back to the Asgard on a Tuesday night. Yes, it's the Tuesday of Hearthrob at the Middlesex, so those who wish can get back into the MiracleAssSex groove.
If this day isn't good for folks, we can adjust, but thought I'd throw this out there and see who's interested and get things rolling.
Aw, would love to do this since I miss Trivia at the ass-guard but unfortunately I have prior engagements for pretty much all of that week and weekend... Have fun though, whoever makes it! And take pics :)
If you're free, you should come Melissa. Singularly, many of us aren't very good at all.... but with our powers combined.... (We're comparable to Captain Planet.)
Melissa, come, I've never met you. Tom knows lots. I may or may not still have a gift certificate from the last time we won. I may or may not be related to one of the other "E's" who are saying I'm in. Allix, they might hate us, but there's lots of space, and we like to take over and win. And I used trivial pursuit because I didn't have any good seatard photos. :-)
I'm on the fence, bc A.) I'm old and meeting at 9pm is late for me. B.) I told Susan I'd boycott the Assguard just yesterday and then this fine event pops up. All things considered, I think this sounds fabulous and I will say I'm in. Now, how late does this go to? And, is there parking??
Oh, they lost my friend's credit card (probably gave it to someone else) and instead of being apologetic about it and trying to rectify the situation as best as they could, they tried to say they never had it and that my friend probably had it, though they ran the bill on his card so they fessed up to lying about that. The manager wouldn't even admit he was the manager till we blatantly asked him. When I asked them to look through the stuff a second time (it looked like they barely looked), the manager basically said, Oh, I already looked. He didn't offer to take my friend's phone number just in case. My bf had to make him do that.
Mistakes happen. Mind you, the bar was 50% empty when we sat down to have drinks so it's not like it was super hectic and the bartender couldn't concentrate. This was handled very badly by the staff and management at Assgard. And Boston has a ton of trivia places around so why support someplace bad when there are tons of good places that could use our food and refreshment money to thrive, while doing their best to make patrons feel welcomed and not lose their credit cards.
If you want to change the venue, I found one that is on Tuesday and is Bus and T accessible: Green Briar Restaurant 8:30pm 304 Washington St., Brighton 617-789-4100 Whaddya say??
That sucks. Yes, Boston has a bunch of trivia places, and we often try different places. But, we periodically go back to Asgard because it's across the street from the Middlesex and folks like to start out at trivia and end up at Hearthrob. There will definitely be other trivia outings at other places.
I have to downgrade to "Sounds Cool" because my first Kickball game of the year is that night. I might sort of maybe make it at the end, but it's doubtful.
I need to downgrade too, I will try to make it, but am taking a class that night in H20town that gets out a lil after 8...then I have to drive home to allston, shower, etc. I'm gonna try to get there though.
