Sweet Basil is one of my favorite lunch spots in Southern Pines (my hometown.)  The only downside is the wait (usually 20-30 minutes for a table) but there are plenty of shops nearby to pop in to while you wait.  Pepi's fresh soups are THE BEST!  5 stars for them alone.  Get soup no matter what.  Seriously.  The sandwiches are deelish too, I recommend anything with basil mayonnaise, especially the…
