I've never had North Carolina BBQ before so I decided to break up my four hour drive to Raleigh with a stop into Eley's.  If you want take out, walk up to the counter and place your order.  If you're dining in, just grab a table anywhere, don't wait for someone to seat you or else you'll look goofy like I did ;)  They do have a smoking area in the back but it does kind of waft into the non-smoking…
