Lockhart is the self-declared "barbecue capital of Texas". In my mind, makes it the "barbecue capital of Earth", as no 'cue beats Texas 'cue. Needless to say, the short drive south from Austin was nearly unbearable - I couldn't wait to just drive in, sit in the city square, and let the brisket wash over me in some weird creepy fantasy sequence.
