Okay so my friend swears by this place. Every time we make dinner "plans" we always end up coming to the Merritt. It's cheap, great food and is open super late.   Let's start with the food. One thing that's great about this place is that they have an extensive menu and almost everything is great (I don't eat seafood so I can't comment on that).
