earlier this year, i stayed on a farm and cuddled up with the cutest little lamb in the world and told him i'd never eat him while i held him.

that all changed the SECOND i took a bite out of the mouthwatering lamb burger at zuzu's. oh man! the lamb was so juicy and tender!  it was topped with yogurt and garlicky sprouts served with quinoa on the side.  we also got the octopus, which was good, but came with very little octopus, and my bf got the sangria.  this is the perfect place for a date and i wanna go back to napa! nom nom nom nom

Mmm.. I love this place: Zuzu tapas restaurant.
A bottle of Albarino: perfect pairing with all of our small plates.
Pea shoot salad with octopus: tangy and yummy.
Artichoke and portabello mushroom salad on top of arugala with truffle oil: every flavor you could want!
Pork meatballs: so delicious and sweet.
Shrimp: was spicy and good with the bread dipped in the sauce..

Good service and very friendly. Great atmosphere. Very enjoyable place to have lunch or dinner.

Great tapas bar at Napa. Wine and tapas are two things I enjoy deeply.  Spending couple of days in Napa deeply satisfied the desire for wine and I was craving some good tapas.

Great ambiance and good service. It might feel kind of cramped when you try to squeeze 4 people on their tables that should be for two; but the taste of tapas invalidates this shortcoming. If you have a big group; they have a more spacious area above. Skip the shrimp based dishes. The rest is very good. I could have given it five stars, but they did not have a "Paella". A good tapas bar must have Paella available on a daily basis.

This was our favorite restaurant in downtown Napa. When we lived there we would visit every week-end.  The wine list is pretty limited, so we usually bring our own bottle.  Corkage is $10.  The waiters are friendly, but the receptionist is not.  In the 300 times I've eaten there, she has never said hello, never smiled, never said thank you to us, nor to anyone she speaks to.  She is lousy at customer service. They should get rid off her, REALLY.

I love their paella, boquarones, tres leches and basque cake.  It's hard to find food quite like this.

If you want to enjoy one of the best Tapas places in the country,  mingle with the locals, and wine enthusiasts of Napa, this is the place to go.  We waited a good two hours at the bar for a table, and decided to just stay and have our Tapas plates at the bar.  We did not mind the long wait, since the venue was very exciting to be in.

The bartender was very friendly and recommended a beautiful bottle of wine that was surprisingly not from Napa, but from Portugal.   The venue was getting more crowded as it got later in the night, so we decided to finally order our Tapas.

We had:
Tortilla Espanola - traditional Spanish potato/sweet onion omelet.  Queso Frito- pan fried Manchego cheese with pablano chiles.
Ceviche del dia.
Moroccan barbecue rack of lamb.

Everything was to perfection.  The view at the bar seats we were sitting at had an open view of the kitchen, and every tapas dish coming out of there looked AMAZING and smelled unbelievable.

Like I said, as the night went on, the drinks were flowing and the tapas were still being served.  It must have been about 12 midnight when we finally left and it took us awhile to get through the crowd to make it to the exit.  A very fun and great dinner/overall night experience.

My favorite tapas restaurant, gotta have the caramel empanada (don't share).

The entire menu is awesome!

No reservations and open for dinner only but worth the wait, while you wait I suggest having some wine.

Our group of 8 came here after a long day of driving and wine tasting. They don't take reservations, but they will let you call ahead for a table which is nice. We called in advance and they said 45 minutes for a table. Can't complain considering it was Labor Day weekend.

We arrived and it's a cute 2 story restaurant right across from a park in downtown Napa. They really only have 1-2 tables that can accommodate large groups so we're at the mercy of the large group currently occupying the table. They ended up taking longer so we had to probably wait about an hour 20 minutes total.

They use organic local products in their food which is great because it makes everything taste great. Here's what we ordered:

*paella - very delicious and flavorful; takes 45 min to cook so order it as soon as you sit down
* ceviche - unique flavor and fresh fish, but not the best ceviche i've had. plus they only gave us like 4 chips to eat it with.
* flat iron steak - so tender! tons of garlic though so beware of bad breath afterwards
* mussels - it came with feta cheese and it was good, but not great
* pork meat balls - my favorite dish we ordered. it has a sweet and savory flavor to it.
* artichoke salad - can't remember the full name. i think it had arugula and parmesan in it too. if you don't like the bitterness of arugula, you won't like this.
* gambas al ajillo - a standard tapas dish but my least fav thing we ordered. the shrimp was not fresh in my opinion and tasted like the ocean.
* peach empenanda for dessert - had a delicious rich caramel sauce to accompany it

I may have left off a few things because we ordered so much stuff I can't keep track. The waitress was very attentive and constantly kept our glasses filled. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a nice, yet affordable meal in Napa.

This place is really good - well worth the trip and in the heart of Downtown Napa.

This place fills up quickly so it's best to make a reservation or just go for early dining.  There's not much very much space to wait by the bar so when we were there I noticed some irate patrons as we lingered at our table and oh so good dishes filled with yummy sauces that required several rounds of bread to properly do justice to the juices.

There are so many reviews here that I'm not sure if it's been mentioned that one of the waitresses looks like Eva Longoria.

Despite that striking resemblance it did seem that she was overwhelmed in being able to pay the right amount of attention for us - the walkway between the kitchen and our table went right through the crowded bar/waiting area.

Napa on a weekend is known for its horrendous traffic along HWY 29 and the long wait to get a dinner table at 7pm.  There are ways to alleviate the long lines and beat the traffic snaffu.  But before I give you those helpful hints- I'll let you in on this fabulous dinner at Zuzu's after a 45 minute wait...

The tapas restaurant came highly recommended and having enjoyed the Napa scenery- I was in need of some major foodie reward.  Zuzu's rustic feel and jovial atmosphere inside had every patron smiling and though the laughter and boisterous conversations seemed to almost reach its highest level- the upstairs dining area offered a more tolerable noise level.

The food was excellent and echoed the bold flavors and robust nature of Spanish tapa plates.

What I tried:-

Ceviche del Dia- a maguro tuna tartare with jicama, sweet turnip spring onions sweet cherry tomatoes in an avocado lemon vinaigrette with side of fresh tortilla toasts.

Merluza with Salsa Verde Basque Style-  Clams simmered in a White wine reduction-  sopped all that rich broth with the size of toasted bread!

Gambas al ajillo- a wonderful sizzling hot  plate of  fresh Gulf Prawns bathed in a garlic velvety olive oil sauce with grilled pimento peppers.

Tortilla Espagnola- a fluffy torta of potatoes and onion omelet- homemade deliciousness!

Quesadilla of salmon and cheese toasted to right crispiness.

A refreshing Mixed Green Salad with orange slices in a sherry vinaigrette dressing

Drinks: Gloria Ferrer Sparkling Wine Blanc de Noirs and a complimentary  Spanish Jerez dessert wine.

PS- Tips for Napa weekend getaway- enjoy the wine you bought before dinner- so your wait time *seem* shorter and when you are finally heading out back to the city- don't leave in the afternoon (early morning or after 7pm was great!).

Always a favorite....Zuzu's is very warm and welcoming with a bit of eclectic flair.

We are frequent visitors of this great little Tapas restaurant and always want to introduce friends and family when they are visiting.  99.9% of the menu is amazing, the service is always friendly and it's easy to get lost in a glass of priorat while savoring things like the flat-iron, paella or queso frito.

A definite must stop while in Napa!

I love tapas! Being that I lived in Spain for a year and enjoyed tapas daily, I was highly enthused to try this place. The food is above average, the service is decent but the prices are way too high! One of the best parts about tapas is that they are affordable. This place has taken tapas to a more luxe experience by stamping high prices on their menus and creating a romantic ambience. We spent a good amount of money and still left hungry. It is the only Spanish place in Napa so if that's what you are looking for, go for it! Just know that you will pay a pretty penny for some small appetizers.

Loved the food, atmosphere, and price-point.  We ordered the ceviche del dia, peach salad (MUST-HAVE if it's still in season), the tunisian tuna pastry, flank steak, new potatoes, tres leches, pot de creme, 3 cappuccinos.  Excluding our wine, the bill came out to $80-ish... worth every penny.

Onto the wines.  The wines were great, and the bartender was scoring points with his attentiveness and flattery - he even complimented my "dress" (which was actually a long shirt)...  And then with perfect comic timing, he knocked over a glass of red wine, spilling it all over my shirt and bag.  Accidents happen, especially when I'm wearing heels, so I can't fault him for being clumsy.  BUT, while I appreciated the apologies and the wine-away spray... no offer to comp my drink!!  That's a social felony.

Every time I have been a tapas restaurant, there has always been at least one dish that I didn't enjoy.  It might be luck of the draw, but that didn't happen at Zuzu.

We asked the waiter what to get, and his recommendations were spot-on.  Every single dish was excellent.  Maybe from now on I just need to let the servers at tapas joints do the ordering for me.  The lamb chops with Moroccan bbq sauce were the most expensive thing on the menu, but they were truly worth it.  I also really enjoyed the queso frito and the ceviche.  My wife was raving about the dish that had sliced egg, some sort of aioli, and fresh anchovies on a piece of toast.  She doesn't normally care for anchovies, and it was easily her favorite dish we got.

The corking fee is only $10, so we brought a bottle of wine that we had purchased earlier that day.  It helped us save a few bucks.

very very good tapas, flavors are intense but not too heavy. I liked the asparagus, the ceviche was amazing but too small, also too much hicama and not enough fish. The shrimp was TO DIE FOR!!! the hubby asked the waiter for the recipe, and the waiter said that it was already online, so I checked my computer as soon as we got home, but without even having to try the recipe, I know it's nothing even close to what they serve at the restaurant! bummer!
the only thing I didn't like was the acoustics in there, it was so noisy we could hardly hear each other even though we were 5 inches away mouth to ear.
whoever planning to come to Vegas just after Napa must bring me some shrimp!

Nice looking place with great ambiance... Some of the dishes were great like the grilled bread with sardines and egg ... Toooo little (1 piece) and trust me I've been to Spain and totally get the concept of Tapas!! Their basque cake was awesome!! Didn't care for the chick peas soup and the shrimp both of which were flavorless. The waitress was bland too:-) no smiles .... Until she brought in the check!!!! Hate when people do that!!

I really like this place.  They serve food the way I love to eat, small portions with lots of flavor so you can try a lot of different tastes and not get bored.  The ceviche is delicious.  They have a really good selection of interesting wines by the glass.  The sangria is perfect on a hot summer day.  When my wife and I come here we always sit at the bar, very friendly atmosphere.  We have had a larger party here and everyone loved it.

I try to get here whenever I am in the area.  You will not be disappointed.

PRO: Nice atmosphere, good selection of small plates, great steak dish
CON: No croquettas! Some dishes could use more spice.

So, ZuZu is located right in the historic downtown area of Napa. It's a cute place, and has a rustic and authentic Argentinian feel about it. With nice lighting, weathered tin ceiling tiles, sandstone plaster walls and some interesting wooden artwork on the walls, they walk the line between casual and classy. The result is a very comfortable spot to have a biz meeting, date, or hanging with friends type of place to grab some small plates.

So I started with the Ceviche ($10), a nice mix of fresh Halibut, lime, and peppers. Yummy for the tummy. Next was the Corn Chowder ($8) - it tasted cream based but it wasn't. Very sweet and tasty, but the only real spice was some spring onions. Coulda used some 'heat with the sweet' as my man Bobby Flay would say.  Next, the server highly recommended the Vegetarian Quesadilla ($9) (I don't think I look vegetarian), which I took a gamble on. Very good actually, for being meatless. I like my 'dillas with meat! But this one, with melted Manchego cheese, onion, fresh lettuce all in a delicate yet crunchy flour shell hit the spot. I finished every bite. And to wrap it all up, the Niman Ranch Flat Iron Steak with Jalepeño Chimichurri ($11). Bada bing....

My friends and I ate here for dinner after a day at the spa and wine tasting.

I liked that it was walk-in only (maybe just this occasion) because we really didn't know when we'd be done wine tasting, so we wandered in a little before 5 for an early dinner since we sorta skipped out on lunch.

We were alcohol-ed out and decided to just drink water. We decided on ordering the ceviche del dia (that day it was halibut topped with guacamole), roasted fingerling potatoes & spring onions in a nora pepper-hazelnut romesco, the flat iron steak (was in a really great garlic sauce) and paella del dia (that day: rice with corn, chicken, chorizo, and clam).

When the halibut arrived, I was surprised at how tiny the portion sizes were. Kind of taken aback, and that's why I gave them 4 stars (really, 3.5). Maybe I'm used to receiving bigger portions at tapas restaurants (like Andalu and Pres a Vi/Va de Vi), but man...really tiny.

So, that's how everything came out! Tiny portions but quite delicious. He dropped off some sea salt, which helped out the halibut ceviche, but everything else did not need the sea salt.

The steak was cooked perfectly, the potatoes were delicious, and the paella was really, really, yummy. It took 30 minutes for the paella to arrive because they make it from scratch. Delicious!

For dessert, I ordered the tres leches cake in a mango lime sauce (VERY DELICIOUS), my friend ordered the chocolate pot au creme, which she said was way too rich for her, and my other friend ordered the empanada (I forgot the filling) in a caramel lime sauce and loved it.

I enjoyed everything we ordered and I would come back again. I just WISH the portion sizes were a little bit larger--maybe about 1/3-1/2 more would be perfect! Oh, and the service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and came back often to fill our water glasses.

We were a group of eight early on a Saturday evening, seated in the upstairs "loft." Considering he had to hike up and down the steep stairs for everything, our waiter was attentive and efficient.  About $50 per person including drinks. The food was tasty although it was certainly small quantities. Each item ordered comes on a five-inch plate and then gets divided two-to-four ways amongst the group, unless you want to be selfish.  Might be better as a lunch choice if you're used to big evening meals.
The desserts were a particular hit.
Veteran's Park (and River) directly opposite on Main St.

Decent tapas place, and fairly affordable too compared to some other tapas bars I've been to in the Bay Area.

They had Jamon Iberico!  I usually like the hot tapas better but there was no way I wouldn't get this...it was pretty awesome, especially with the tomato-infused bread.  The tortilla espanola was just ok, I've had better at other tapas places...seemed too potato-y and not enough egg to me.  Hubby absolutely loved the Gambas al Ajillo, which came out sizzling and had a nice kick to it.  Even though I'm not the biggest fan of shrimp, I also wound up mopping up the last bits of oil left on the bowl with some bread, and using some of the sauce to give a bit of a kick to the tortilla espanola.  The Bacalao was probably the most disappointing dish, it looked and tasted like baby food...I got none of the wonderful salt cod taste that I've had in Spain and Portugal and the truffle oil was virtually nonexistent.  The paella was excellent...we weren't sure we could finish an order for 2 so we just split a single order...wish that we ordered more!

The wine was pretty decent, though their prices were a bit steep for wines by the glass, IMO.  Service was friendly and overall ok.  I do like how this place is open later than some of the other restaurants in the area.  Not a must-visit, but definitely a good choice for downtown Napa.

ZuZu is one of a rare breed of non "Wine Country" style restaurants.  It feels Argentinian to me, although I think they are actually of Spanish cuisine (who knows).  While tapas is a cliche these days, ZuZu does it for real and not for the sake of it.  We love sitting at the bar and ordering a few things at a time.

Everything we have had there is good and the bartenders have always been able to steer us in the right direction.

In the heart of downtown Napa, super convenient and good service; we were a little nervous that it was walk-in only, but they could accommodate 5 of us at the communal table

here's the verdict in a nutshell:
ceviche- awesome
filet mignon- yummy
fried manchego- yum (who doesn't like fried Cheese?)
mussels in green chili relleno- yum
summer peaches with parmesean- sweet, juicy, yummy
asparagus with bacon- yummy
pork meatballs- juicy and yummy
prawns- a tad overcooked
grilled octopus with watercress- yummy
paella- really BAD. Too much tomato paste- did not taste like paella at all. very disappointing

Sangria- SO refreshing and yummy!

This is one of my local faves!  I would give it 4 1/2 stars but there is not an option for the 1/2 star.

The atmosphere is fun, lively, and unpretentious.  The food is very tasty and inventive.  It's tapas style, so it's nice to try several dishes.  I recently tried the octopus for the first time and became a huge fan.  Delicious!  It's different than any other restaurant in the Napa Valley as the menu is mostly Spanish/Portuguese/Argentina style with a twist of local fresh ingredients.

The wine list has many good options from Spain, Argentina and Napa with several to choose from by the glass.

It's a great local hang out.  If you don't know anybody when you get there, if you sit at the bar, you will most likely know most everyone by the end of the evening.  It's a friendly spot.

Why is it so hard for tapas restaurants to get paella right? This is a dish that must be cooked sloooooooowly so the rice has a chance to cook fully.

Hard rice = Unhappy Paella = Meh review

Other plates such as the soup and the pork meatballs were yummy. It is pricey but the waiters compensated by being extra nice. ;-)

zuzu is located in the heart of downtown napa.  we were able to get seated with a reservation as we beat the rush.  the ambiance is great and serene.

the ceviche of the day was the best dish we had.  there was a white fish from fiji similar in texture to ahi tuna.  we also had the brik puff pastry with the white fish.  this dish was very flavorful, but the fish was on the dry side.  we also had the shrimp which was flavorful but nothing out of the ordinary.  their sangria was mediocre.

the best part of the meal was the peach empanada dessert with the lime caramel sauce which surprisingly complemented the dish very well.

our waitress was very friendly and helpful though and i would recommend this place if you're not very hungry from wine tasting in napa.

Fun lil spot in downtown Napa.

Everything we had was good, with standouts being grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes and pea sprouts and, for dessert, "Basque cake," a rustic sweet served with creme anglaise and either a berry or a wine reduction sauce. It paired spectacularly with one of the white dessert wines on their list - if I remember what it was, I'll update the review.

It's not a posh spot, but neither is it pricey - we got out of there for about a bill, including the tip & 2 glasses of wine and a beer. Thumbs-up for yummy, satisfying food in a lively, casual atmosphere. Perfect for soaking up all the wine we were sipping all day!

I love tapas and everything here was great. We ordered 9 of them for four of us and it was perfect (ceviche, white anchovies, lamb, flat steak, shrimp, mussels, octopus, greans). The portions were not too big or small, perfect for all to have a taste and more, which is the way I like it. The resturant was crowded with lots of people waiting at the bar, which made us feel rushed - the waitress taking away the plates even before we were completely done didn't help either. 4 stars instead of 5 for feeling rushed. No complaints at all with the food.

I was ready. I was so going to give Zuzu's a five star, but the long drawn out wait for our server to come back to our table was just a tad too much especially when the restaurant wasn't AS busy. I never been to a tapas-only restaurant before, so I was excited because it was something to look forward to on a Monday night. The restaurant was quaint, but for some reason fit the whole tapas-only feeling.

My boyfriend and I ordered the mussels, quail and flat-iron steak. Accompanying our food was a beer for him and a syrah for me. A plus was a small amount of bread was served with each dish. The juice seeping off of each dish was just to die for. The mussels were plentiful, especially for him and I. The quail was good, but there were only two pieces served, but I never had so it was worth the order. Our favorite was the steak, which we ended up getting two of because one was not enough. Our server Ben, was really nice and attentive. He was enjoyable to have, especially when the place started to get busy.

We plan to definitely re-visit and try out their pallea and lamb; if they're on the menu. Definitely a must go if you want a light shared meal.

I take a lot of clients here for lunch and have never been disappointed.  The food is fresh and tasty.  The salt cod is a superlative.  Often I order it and the rest of the table looks as if I am crazy.  But once it comes I have to pry the small plate from their cold dead hands.  The liberty duck is awesome. And anything described as "Basque" will not disappoint.

They have an excellent wine list, with very knowledgeable servers who know these obscure Spanish wines.  This is where I got acquainted with  Albarino.

Go here, eat, get fat and be happy!

My boyfriend and I came here because we love tapas and Zuzu is a great alternative to all the American cuisine restaurants in Napa. This place doesn't accept reservations but we got there around 9 and we got a table right away. This place had great decor and we overheard someone saying that the lamps were salvaged? Either way they look very unique and fitting! Service was good, not great. Are they trained to majorly up sell here? That's what our server was doing to us and the table next to us the whole night! But it's okay....on to the food!

Ceviche - Yum! One of our favorites of the night! The fish was very light and fresh. The chips? Not too good...they should invest in better chips.

Chopped salad - Kinda like a caesar salad with avocado. I liked it!

Salt Cod - Alright. Not what I expected. I swear it looks like mashed potatoes! One of the more filling plates of the night.

Gulf shrimp - The sauce that it came with is delicious! Use some of the bread to dip! The pepper one the shrimp was a little overwhelming, couldn't really enjoy it.

Paella - Ohh, I found this one a disappointment! I was really bummed because we were excited for this one. The rice was dry and there was barely any seafood or sausage in it. Blehhh...too bad.

Flat iron steak - Very good! The steak was cooked perfectly and it was just the right amount of meat for us to share. Seriously melted in your mouth! The sauce that came with it was to much though! They really need to lay off the sauces here and let the food shine!

Sangria - Average. Great wine list though, wish we had gone for a glass instead but the weather was was hot so we were feeling something light and refreshing.

4 glasses of sangria (should have just got a pitcher!!), 6 plates, and dessert...$95! Not too bad if I do say so myself!

3 stars is the average considering all the dishes we ordered......

The quail and anchovies were absolutely amazing. I would go back just to have those again..Ceviche was also quite good.

However, the braised vegetables were bland....vegetables don't have to be bland! Just add some salt and some spices or something!

The paella was easily the worse I've ever had. No one in my group wanted seconds and I couldn't even force the rest of it down. Some of the rice was hard and the tomatoes sauce served on top of it was really strange...

All in all, check the place out. It's a nice space and they do have some good tapas. Just don't order the paella...or the apple empanada, nothing special.

I love Tapas and I hated Zuzu. Maybe I'm spoiled from places like ChaChaCha in the city but I decided to try Zuzu because they are local and I had heard that they were okay.

Well, I wasn't very hungry so I only got two things- the artichoke and the shrimp... my waiter was extremely snotty and told me that I wasn't ordering enough (seriously!!!) I told him that I knew they were tapas but that I wasn't super hungry- that I came because I had been wanting to try the food and had the opportunity. He didn't like that response- he acted as if I shouldn't have wasted his time and made himself scarce. I couldn't even get a refill on my water the whole time I was there.

The artichoke tasted fine but was admittedly tiny and very tough. I wasn't impressed but I didn't think it was horrible. But when I got my shrimp bowl (or whatever they call it) it was sooooo bad! It was like eating shrimp in paprika water- no flavor at all. I actually laughed.

If that first experience hadn't turned me off so much I would have gone back with a few friends to order different items and share (although with the tiny portions I don't know what there would be to share.)

I am sticking to ChaChaCha from here-on out when I want Tapas.

Eat here at least once every time I take freinds/family to Napa. It's a great alternative to all the american or italian cuisine in downtown Napa.

Almost everything's tasty on the menu, octopus, ceviche, duck, lamb, etc.

It's always crowded, so make your reservation in advance.

Swung by Zuzu's one afternoon for lunch, and we found this restaurant to be relaxing and inviting.  We were the first customers of the day, and the server let us take our sweet time perusing through the menu.  We decided to order the Moroccan barbecue glazed rack of lamb with mint and red curry oil (at the waitress' suggestion) and went with an order of the flatiron steak with the roasted jalapenos.

I'm not that big of a fan of lamb, but it was pretty tasty regardless.  I think my boyfriend enjoyed this dish more than I did.  I LOVED the flatiron steak and felt that the flavors were so complementary of each other.  At one point, my boyfriend and I were fighting for the last piece of steak and bread.  We're so in love.

Definite gem. :)

The Moroccan Barbecue Glazed Rack of Lamb with Mint & Red Curry Oil was finger licking good; it was seasoned with fresh mint leaves which spiced up the flavor. The pork wrapped in cabbage leaves (purses) were outstanding. The sangria was a welcomed change on the palate after spending all day at the wineries.

However, the portions are not large enough for the price, and the seating could get a little crowded.

I had high hopes for this place.  When I lived here a few years back, it was always on my list of places to check out, but seemed to forget about. Whatever, I made it down there a few nights ago.

I'm a little torn between 2 and 3 stars.  I thought the portion sizes were good, although overpriced.  Some of our food came out a little undercooked (pork meatballs), some of it came out a little bit cold.  The server wasn't very attentive, so we just went ahead and ate it the way it was.  I thought the flavors were good, but not great.

One of my favorite restaurants where I live now (Portland OR) is a Spanish tapas place, and so I guess I had high expectations, which unfortunately were not met. They were also out of a couple items on the menu less than 2 hours after opening up that night which is a big bummer.  I would give it another try when/if I come and visit napa again, hopefully with a better experience!

Really disappointing, this place was recommended both in Frommers and looked at fellow yelpers review and thought that it must be good can't believe how bad it was...still scratching our heads at why everyone thinks this place is so great...

The paella was icky...  it was basically lots of rice really unseasoned with a few pieces of shellfish on top... The paella that we've had in Spain and my favorite tapas places back in Chicago were nothing like this dish that they labeled paella.

The tapas dishes were ok, nothing outstanding.  The shrimp was overseasoned with the typical smoky Spanish paprika really leaving an unpleasant after taste... The asparagus (how can you mess up asparagus?) with jamon was so overcooked that it was difficult to cut since it was mushy...  The mussels was the only dish that we truly liked but for the price it was horridly expensive...

Honestly, skip this place and save your money...  if you're ever in Chicago visit Cafe Barcelona to see yummy tapas that you can get this side of the Atlantic.
