AWESOME pizza! Super that they have Gluten-Free products!!!!
I really like ZPizza, there was a franchise right down the street from my house in SoCal and it was our go-to for pizza in the area. They have loads of interesting takes on toppings, Thai-chicken (yum), Berkeley Soy, plus traditional offerings. I recently tried their new "Rustica" crust and it was dee-lish. All this said, it is not exactly pizza in the classic sense, it is cooked in a hot oven, and the ingredients are very fresh but if you are looking for classic pizza there are other more New-Yorky options in the area.
So, I just moved here from New Orleans...one of the best food cities in the world. I also happen to been an organic food nut to boot. We found this great pizza place that uses organic ingredients and recycled products (that may not be important to you - which is ok) but the pizza is fantastic. They have some stuff other that pizza also and you can order right on their website. I think they have a Cary location also. Give them a try if you like great pizza.
A friend and I were trying to find somewhere close to home with good pie. I'd walked by ZPizza a number of times going to Starbucks or Blockbuster, but never opted to go in. Last night, we gave ZPizza a try. So here's the thing: don't go to ZPizza on a Friday night unless you've got your kids in tow. This place isn't Chuck E. Cheese, but someone forgot to tell the parents of neighboring Bedford and Wakefield. Now I like kids, don't get me wrong. But lots of kids in a restaurant that is smaller than a Starbucks- now that does not make for pleasant pie indulgence. We had to wait for quite a few families to vacate to grab a booth (there are 4 booths & 3 tables= total). I ordered the Napoli, which could not have been more perfect. I had the small, which is easily two meals. The crust was perfectly crisp. The ingredients were premium. I felt a certain Lilly's Pizza familiarity without having to drive to 5 Points. My friend ordered the Sausage and Mushroom and was equally pleased. I think next time ZPizza will be more of a school night stop. I am eager to try their Mexican, Thai and other interesting pies. Grazie.
ZPizza was a pleasant surprise! I personally am a fan of Lilly's and Mellow Mushroom, so being able to find a pizza location closer to where I live in the sticks of North Raleigh was a treat. They have a varied menu of pizza options, and I appreciate that they come in 3 different sizes as well. The price was affordable, especially in these uncertain economic times, and the service was pleasant for an "order here" / "pick up here" type of situation. I tried a slice of the apple pizza (I'm sure all Italians are now rolling their eyes) but it was delicious and simple with apples, almonds, marscapone cheese, a sweet finish to my very traditional pizza with Sausage and Mushrooms. The crust was delish, chewy, savory, and not greasy. The two drawbacks, which weren't their fault, was screeching kids belonging to fellow patrons, and lack of spaces to sit. Fortunately, we came at a good time, as a couple of tables were winding up and we were able to find a place to enjoy our pizzas in relative calm. Looks like their special is good for lunch - 2 slices and a soda for under $6, so I will be encouraging all my peeps at work to venture to this location for a tasty and quick lunch experience.
