4 stars because we got to pet real animals -- babydoll sheep, icelandic sheep, Irish cows, deer, and ponies. And yes, they will only come over to you when they hear money in the corn dispenser. Everyone is a 'ho for something -- Yarmouth animals included.
The inside is sad -- the aquatic life held no ones attention for more than a few seconds. Thankfully we found coupons cuz full price would have made me sadder.
Make sure you sanitize your own paws after letting the animals drool in yours ;)
Good place to bring our nephews for a nice couple of hours. We enjoyed the animal demonstration with Lily the skunk and the outdoor animal displays as well. My mother tried to feed a certain goat and deer and was shooing away the other piggy deer. The aquarium part was just okay. We did not like the squirrel in a cage - why was that there?? Joe thought it was overpriced.

Caveat - I am rating this based on my son's experience here, not what I thought. He loved all the animals - some animals he (nor I) had never seen at a zoo before like porcupines, fawn, raccoons, vultures and more. The indoor aquarium part is a little dark and dated but hey, my son loved it and was happy. Definitely a bit on the cheesy side, they even had Christmas decorations up and we were there in July! The animals did seem to be well taken care of and protected from overly friendly kids so that was reassuring. I thought the prices were reasonable given they have a lot of animals to care for. A great place to bring children.

This is definitely an overgrown petting zoo; however, it was still a nice way to spend some time on a dreary Cape day. It is overpriced though so look for the coupons!! $10 for adults?!? It is totally kid centric (which is fine) so I am not sure why adults pay so much. It is privately owned and not an actual accredited zoo or aquarium. Today was the first time I have ever been there so I was not sure what to look for and ended up driving right past. It is not right out on the road and if there is a big sign I did not see one. It is right behind Captain Parker's pub though so if you see that you are there. Also, you can look for Martin the bear (statue) out front. There are some interesting displays and lots for the kids to explore and touch. Our kids were able to pet a horseshoe crab and a star fish in the aquarium area so that made them VERY happy and also a hissing cockroach and a hedgehog during/after one of the shows. There is of course food to feed the animals if you like. You can feed the deer, sheep, Islandic sheep, goats, etc. $.25/"handful" of corn/food. Pony rides are $3/per ride. They did not do any seal shows while we are there so I don't know what those are like. Don't go here expecting a major zoo/aquarium experience (we are MAJOR zoo/aquarium snobs :-) ); however, if you are looking for something to amuse the kids for a couple hours it is worth a try.

When I was younger, my family used to go on vacation to Cape Cod every year. We had a little cottage in this little community of cottages on the main road. Behind all the cottages was a tall wooden fence, and on the other side of the fence was the Zooquarium. You could poke your fingers through the fence just enough to feed the llamas on the other side of the fence. Just why is it called the Zooquarium? I suppose because there's an aquarium inside, and zoo animals outside. Zooquarium. I guess they couldn't bear spending more than 5 seconds thinking of a name.
The Zooquarium is almost strictly for kids, though. It's kind of an overgrown petting zoo with some sea lion shows. Really nothing spectacular. Except for the big guy out front. On the main road there is a giant brown bear standing on its hind legs. Although the bear is meant to welcome people to the Zooquarium, it looks more likely to rip into your passing car to try and get at your snack packs than to happily welcome you to his zoo. I had countless pictures taken of me with the bear. It took me years to figure out that he was connected with the Zooquarium at all. I thought he it was just your random Cape Cod marauding bear statue. For me, that bear will always be the symbol Cape Cod.
