Oh how could I forget to review Zoe?
Zoe makes great design, uses superb fabric, and gives honest opinions.
Tips: Only come in when you're ready to spend about $150 on your suit. Park your car and make sure you have about 1 hour worth of coins in your meter. Grab everything that catches your eyes, try them on, show them to Zoe. You'll end up with some of the most unique pieces you'll ever see!

A mere two blocks from my home base is the best bikini store EVAR!
Zoe is a doll. I went on an expedition with a couple of girls to find some suits and we immediately glommed onto the bargain bin. Zoe gave us space to do our thing, and offered assistance whenever we needed it. She was honest with her assessment of each suit we tried on, and when the one I chose was a bit long in the torso, she altered it for me on the spot! It was a quick fix, but still - what service!
We ended up each getting out of there with 2 suits each for about $50 a girl! Not too shabby (read: an amazingly good deal) for bikinis designed and manufactured right here in the Mission. Not too bad at all!
I love these swim suits, I bought in August 2007, while visiting California. Prob the cutest, best swimming suits in all of California.
Has a huge collection of Bikinies, I like all the collection lingeries. I also purchased a Bikni from there. bright colours, latest designs.
fabric is also fine, comfortable to wear. Me & one of my best friend go there to purchase Bikinies. She took 3 bikinies these all are looks lovely. I recommended this shop & of course gives full stars to it. love this place much.
When you click on religious organizations, Zoe bikini comes in ranked second. At first I was confused but after pouring over their wonderful styles and beautiful models I had an "awakening" and I realized that what was happening in my trousers was in fact a "religious movement." I could worship here 8 days a week
Love this store! I was at a hot spring with some friends and was admiring their swimsuits. They both had gotten them from Zoe Bikini and couldn't stop raving about the place.
I was getting ready to go on a beach-filled honeymoon so I took my body-conscious self over there. It seemed like every bikini I tried on fit perfectly and, believe me, that never happens to me. I walked out of the store with two suits that I was thrilled with. They were a little pricey but were well worth it (and are supposed to last a long time too.)
This is one of my absolute favorite places . I always bring all my out-of-towner friends here.

Oh my gosh do I hate bathing suit shopping. I am what you would call top heavy and most places don't even carry my size in tops. I am top heavy, not body heavy if you know where I am going with this. So I found this place on YELP as I am in need of a swimsuit after the season is mostly over. Zoe was a delight. She gave me an idea of what really fit, how it should fit and what was best for me in the long run. When the suit was too wide around for me, she fixed it on the spot in just a few seconds. I'd definitely recommend this store to a friend who had body issues that needed professional help! Thanks Zoe.

Thank goodness I found her! I was on my way to Palm Springs for a lavish weekend by the pool and I needed a new bathing suit. Thing is, I'm a pear. Yeah, I got curves, but i'm also small... it's complicated. I'd been hunting everywhere, all over SF and NY... and I just couldn't fit a suit that both fit me, flattered me, and made me comfortable! Enter Zoe. I found like 4. Adorable fabrics, unique cuts, and even custom-made ensembles! Ruching, wrapping, and sassy belts and detailing to draw your eye away from the bad and toward the good!
She worked with me to find my proper size in her cuts and I tried on tons of things, all of them looking quite good till I found two I just loved. One is this really unique wrap style bikini top that is super flattering. I got a ton of compliments. The bottoms actually fit. They are big enough to cover what I got going on (no crackage) but not so big they fall off (yes, it's happened).
While the suits are more expensive than some you'd find at Macy's or the like, it's worth it to have something truly unique and handmade, plus it will actually fit! Bonus points for the adorable, yet affordable, jewelery she's got at the front counter to pair with your fab new suit!
Going to Zoe Bikini finally made me feel like less of a freak! It was my first bathing suit experience where I wasn't near tears.

If you're anything like me, you're not exactly delighted by the way you look in a bathing suit, which can make shopping for one a HUGELY frustrating task. If it weren't for this awesome little lady, I would probably have just settled for a burlap sack and some sunscreen for my upcoming beach excursion.
I grazed the racks, loving the cuts and fabrics-- but still was a deer in the headlights. Zoe gently came over and offered to do the guesswork for me. I told her what I was trying to shy away from, and she quickly procured a number of things that I may have never considered trying-- and they were all a great fit for me.
I did end up paying over $100 for one suit, but it's cute AND reversible! So... I guess that's technically 2 suits, right?
everyone must go! this place is amazing. I got my first Z Bikini yesterday and I am dying to go back. She makes such cute pieces and the quality is unbeatable. She has a ton of varieties for all different body types and preferences. I love this place !
Back before I lived in SF, I used to scavenge through my mom's San Francisco magazines from Palo Alto and dream about the big city life. Among other things, I distinctly remember reading about Zoe Bikini (maybe around the time she opened her first store?) and her custom-made bathing suits. Totally a great concept and I've seen the boutique on 18th street a ton of times, yet I never bothered to take a look until yesterday.
Really amazing bathing suits, folks. Great cuts, styles, fabrics, details. Everything sold as seperates. If you have a different sized top and bottom (and I think most people do)...or say, a large chest...ahem...this may be the store for you! I went in thinking that I would probably order a custom suit, but I actually found two pieces right off the rack that worked! How often does that happen!? Zoe herself was also great...she encouraged me, in the sincerest of tones, to show a little more boob than I normally would ;) I decided to take her up on that advice.
The only other place I've shopped for swimwear in the greater bay area is a store called Manx in Capitola, which also has a wide selection. But I would have to say that the aesthetic of the line at Zoe Bikini is much more refined and fashion forward!
I am so happy that I finally found my bikini place in SF. The designs and materials are great. And they look and feel real good, too. There is so much really cute stuff there.
My amazing friends got me a Zoe bikini for my birthday (best present EVER if you're trying to think of a birthday gift). I was leaving for Brazil pronto so Zoe kindly woke up EARLY on a Saturday, and opened the store just for me. In about an hour, I was out of there with a suit I loved. It was hands down the best swim suit shopping experience of my life, and I totally dazzled my sweetie on the beaches of Rio.
Love Zoe! I had a bikini party here with my girlfriends. We had pink champagne and all bought suits because we were drunk and uninhibited. Believe me, it is a much more fun way to buy a bikini.
The suits are pretty pricey but they are handcrafted and gorgeous. You have to check it out if you live in SF!

Zoe is awesome and talented. Love love her work. The only place I ever want to shop for swim wear is at her shop. Seriously!

I have been buying suits from Zoe since 2000, back when she sewed them from her bedroom! Her suits get better every year, and even the old ones that I have from 7-8 years ago have held up amazingly as long as my dumb boyfriend doesn't throw them in the dryer on "high". And being from Santa Cruz, I practically live in my bikinis.
I was so excited to move to SF (except for the cold) and see she'd opened an adorable shop in the Mission a few years ago...it's truly a cool, loungey, comfortable place to try on suits and not be in an intimidating, badly-lit, nasty dressing room.
Zoe has always been good at matching the perfect cut and style to my body, and manages to find something that makes me look and feel like a hot tamale every time. Considering that I'm buying a locally made, high quality suit, and not one that was sewed by a child/underpaid worker overseas, the prices are incredibly reasonable. High-end suits usually run upwards of 300 bucks, and yet these suits are definitely high-end, under $150 bucks...and local!! And they're beautiful...

I had read about Zoe Bikini in the Chronicle and since I was looking for a bikini and looking for some help picking one out, I gave it a try. She is absolutely wonderful. Great selection of styles and colors, and she's very honest about what looks good and what doesn't. she's very mellow, friendly, and I don't think i've ever felt more comfortable standing in front of someone in a bikini (even with my pale skin and black knee socks I'd worn to work). highly recommend. They aren't cheap but WELL WORTH IT. Far better to buy a nice one that you like!
I am a small girl oddly with big non gravity defying boobs. I have never found a bikini that fits me and badly wanted one for my vacation in Honduras. Zoe not only had cute fabrics and styles but worked with me and I finally found a bikini that holds my mamas in and up! And she does alterations if needed. I highly advise women to make this there first stop when shopping for a suite. Not only will you get a unique super cute suite but you'll also help out a small business.

The suits are not cheap. In fact, I would call them pricey at $70 for tops or bottoms, which you can mix and match. BUT if you happen to catch her 50% off sale once a year -- which frankly was the only way I could afford one -- you're golden!
The suits are made of gorgeous heavy materials, and the patterns are cut to flatter all different body types. If you have a specific need, Zoe will custom tailor your suit to fit you perfectly.

HOORAY for Zoe Bikini!!! In November I am going to turn 40 while sipping a fruity rum drink in French Polynesia. I have never had a bikini before. I don't have a Sports Illustrated body and I've always been self-conscious. I thought that turning 40 in a bikini on Bora Bora would be fun, so I went to go see Zoe. I'm wearing my new bikini as I type to inspire this review. It's a magenta bandeau with a little halter thingy in the front, and a simple, slightly ruched at the hips little bottom numbah.
It's pretty much all I want to wear these days, and I'm now planning my life around how and when I can wear my new bikini's. Yes, I got not one, but two new bikinis.
You see, I was overdue. I was the sale at Macy's, hand-me-down, clothes-swap, my sister's discarded swimsuit mix and match girl. No more. I got my state and federal tax return and a certain talk thread on Yelp got me fired up to get a hot suit for 2009.

Big hair, big boots, big lashes, big tan, big attitude...yaddi yah yah.
Part of being a rockstar involves some poolside action. You gotta take your raybans, orange hue, and french tip pedicure to the water and sun soaked lounge chairs of the Vegas "see and be seen" pools.
And taking one's fabulous self to the pool - requires one stressful and not so fabulous step.

Bathing suit shopping is practically a synonym for nightmare.
But being a rockstar, means you gotta handle your business.
I knew I wanted something quality, unique, and sophisticated - so I did my Yelp research and came across Zoe bikini. I skimmed the reviews quickly and immediately knew I'd find something great.
At first I was confused by the location. Capp and 18th??? A bikini store?!!
But just a couple of blocks down from 16th Bart is ray of bikini sunshine amidst the craziness of the Mission.
Zoe's is a tiny space, and Zoe herself was the only person working when I walked in. Right away she was friendly and personable. She gave me plenty of time and space to browse her colorful, wonderful crafted designs, and helped me find the correct sizing and fit for the designs I liked.
I've had many a nightmare experience, trying on too small, cheap fabric-ed, tummy enlarging, boob smushing, butt pinching bathing suits in cramped over-heated neon lit mall changing rooms - so the single dressing room and warm comforting opinions and advice from Zoe as I posed in each of her self designed pieces was refreshing.
I ended up buying a fabulous brown and white hued bikini with a flirty bandeau top. Not only did the bikini hug all of my curves perfectly, but it stayed up throughout all of my Vegas escapades. I also ended up picking up a cute black bathing suit cover-up dress, which was so cute and comfortable, that I ended up wearing it out clubbing.
Zoe is not cheap - but it's worth it. For those who are interested in a unique bathing suit, and a unique bathing suit shopping experience, born from the mind of a creative unique individual - come here.

Woah, I had no idea these swimsuit beauties were made locally! They also have greeeeeat gold plated earrings. I was pulled in by the orange zebra number (I'm serious, it was cute) in the window and walked out with a red ruched bikini -- now showing in my hot tub.

Zoe Bikini has racks of pre-made tops and bottoms in many different styles and fabrics; some very simple, others adorned with beads, metal rings or ruffles. Once you find a style and fabric you like, if she doesn't have them to fit you, she'll make them for you...fast.
Three days before I was leaving for Thailand I needed a top made. She not only made it on time for me, but because I don't live in the city she mailed it to me at no additional charge. Be prepared to spend $80. for a custom top, but I'm sure that any hard-to-fit women would agree that's a steal!
So I agree....$140 is a little ridiculous to spend on a bikini, but I'm convinced it was worth it. My honeymoon is coming up, so I wanted a new bikini that was hot and sexy. Zoe's little shop did the trick. So many colors and styles to choose from, it was effortless finding a combo that fit my body perfectly.

Off to summer camp this weekend and totally forgot to get a new bikini so the panic set in...THEN I remembered passing this bikini shop here in my neighborhood so I hopped on my bike to see if it was real or if I was dreaming such a cool thing.... (a bikini shop in the mission!).
My lucky day! Not only is Zoe Bikini really right down the street, but she has the cutest bikinis and helped me pick out a great one that I am just in love with.

I was lucky enough to happen upon Zoë at a vendor party at Habit Wax Studio last night. I wasn't expecting to buy anything when I arrived, but after about 20 minutes I was swayed by some cocktails to try on a gorgeous bikini that Zoë helped me pick out.
It's pretty tough for me to find something that fits my body, as I'm pretty curvy, with pretty ridiculous curves on top, so I've always put the thought of buying bikinis on the backburner (plus, being in SF, it's usually about 55 degrees on any given Summer day). I have spent the last 6 years with a worthless J. Crew bandeau bikini that I bought from a catalog, and which was clearly cut for a 12-year-old boy.
But somehow, the first little brown, pink, and blue striped halter bikini that Zoë suggested for me fit me PERFECTLY. All previous insecurities I had felt about my body melted away. In short, I stepped out from the curtain looking like an ultra-hot-rockin', one-of-a-kind, bodacious BABE.
I don't know how Zoë does it, but she does it well. So long, J. Crew! Hello, Zoë! I'll be coming back next season with bells on.

I usually have a hard time buying a bikini. I need two different sizes for the top and the bottom and if I find a bikini that's not only available in a set, it is usually ugly, unsexy or doesn't fit anyway. Now I needed a new bikini for my upcoming Hawaii vacations - only thinking about it caused me trouble.

I have been shopping with Zoe for about 3 years. I just got my 3rd bikini. Not because I don't wear my other ones, but I was ready for a new color and style. She also custom-made a one piece for me that works for swimming laps rather than the speedos that turn your legs blue from squeezing so tight.
She is really patient with me when it is hard to make decisions on which style to go with and gives her honest opinion. So there you go: 'nuff said.
