If I won the lottery, one of the early things I would do is put a Zio's franchise in St. Louis.… Read more »
Zio's does have its issues, hanging laundry and long waiting time being two of them. I'm glad someone else was watching the line of unmentionables... We enjoy drawing on the table "cloth" brown paper all during the meal and the fresh parmesan is lovely. The carpet under the tables is indeed a novelty, we love to have people feel under the table and watch their faces.
The food is always good and moderately priced. This is a kid friendly place if you can get over the wait.
Zio's has been a staple lunch spot of mine for over 4 years now, I work right across the street. All their pastas are great but my favorite by far would be the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna. This has to be one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had. They are quick with their to-go orders and even have "curb side pickup". The ambience is very unique with high ceilings and open dining area. From the brick ovens they fire their pizzas in to the arena kitchen where all of the food is prepared, this place entertains your eyes and your stomach.
Take a walk through Italy with this hot dinner spot. Zio's provides a fresh alternative to any other Italian Restaurant in town. The showmanship has dwindled recently since the absence of the paper tablecloth that was free to and encouraged to scribble on. This feature, or lack of, is quickly countered by the delectable menu, skilled wait-staff, and incredible atmosphere. If you didn't know that they had that feature you will never miss it. For the night centered around the dinner, Zio's makes it memorable
What a fun great place to eat. The food is almost always really good, and the atmosphere is great. Wonderful Italian staple.
This place is great! I go there for lunch and we are able to get in and out in under an hour. Plus the food is great. The only complaint I have is that it is a little loud in there, but other than that I love it. I always get their white russians. They are the best!
MMmmmmm.....Zio's. Five cheese fettuccini. It's no longer on the menu, but you can ask for it. The portion is large, so I can have it for lunch the next day. I like the atmosphere. I liked it even better before they took the HUGE bra off the clothesline. I swear, they raided it from my stepmother's underwear drawer! (Those types of bras do not make for good slingshots, btw.) So where did the bra go? Was some prude offended? Anyway, one night we were at Zio's, where we had our names put on a list. The wait was going to be 45 minutes. We were about 10 minutes into our wait when my husband got an idea. He called Zio's on his cell phone and made reservations - now the wait was going to be only 15 minutes! 'Splain THAT!! While you're at Zio's, be sure to feel under the table and chairs, where you'll find, not hardened pieces of ABC gum, but carpeting! It cuts down on the noise! Oh, those clever Zio's people. What will they think of next? I think they should hang a merkin from the clothesline. Don't know what a merkin is? Look it up! What am I, your dictionary?! On second thought, don't look it up if you're the sort who would make Zio's take down the bra.
