With pretty much anything and everything worth a damn in Deep Ellum dead and gone, Zini's is still holdin it down.  This is the best pizza i've found in the area, and cheap too.  This is the kind of pizza that tastes great fresh, and tastes maybe even Better when you reheat the leftovers over the next few days, rounding out your entire non-alcoholic caloric intake for the weekend.  And this is important when youre a cash-strapped lackadaisically-inclined bachelor, living in the big city.

This Zini's location is right off elm, adjacent to the now defunct Trees, and across from a Condom Sense.  This place would fit right in, and probably clean up, on sixth street in Austin; complete with the walk up pizza by the slice pick up window.  The interior looks like your favorite little dive bar, but with pizza!  There is actually a small bar attached, but i've never actually checked it out during bar hours.  Anyhow here's hopin they beat the trend and stick around in Deep Ellum long after these dark days, to a better time when the area becomes cool again; you know, in like, 15 years.
