Ok, it's been 3 months and I'm still not over it. Bottom line - I got the worst haircut I've ever had in my life here.
When I called and made the appointment I asked for a senior stylist - the girl who cut my hair was not senior in any way. Her name was Sierra (or Sienna or something like that).
I painstakingly explained my hair texture (wavy and that I'm moving to a humid climate so she needs to work with my waviness), what I wanted done (basic cut) and that it's got to be easy to style (I hate doing my hair). I went in there with just above the shoulder length hair with long layers. I wanted a few inches off the bottom and some layers - nothing too short, I have to be able to put my hair behind my ears. Basically, nothing special.
She BUTCHERED my hair. Thinned it so badly in the back it felt like I had no hair. She layered it so much all over - and I mean SHORT layers - some pieces were an inch long. She was using a razor which gave me a really severe, short, choppy cut. I have no idea what the hell she was thinking.
I went back two days later and had someone else fix it. She did the best she could with my "mullet" (her words). But it was still pretty bad.
I just went to have my hair cut again (because growing it out has been painful, to say the least, and it looks ridiculous). The girl cutting my hair this time was like "um, what happened to your hair - it kinda looks like you cut it yourself".
Really, not what I'm looking for when I get my hair cut.
PS: I got my haircut here in October - it's now April and my hair STILL looks ridiculous. I hate that stylist every day of my life.
I had a couple of haircuts with Joy. Salon is very excentric and a bit disorganized. The stylist definately took her time, cut my hair dry and I liked it. I got a nice bob and a very good looking highlights. After second time I was a lil dissapointed, got the same haircut (no creativity) and she skimped on partial highlights. I don't think I will go back.
One trick pony wanted something different and she gave me same as last time, glad she used the idea I mentioned about tying in breast cancer awareness & her problem with her pink dogs, when Boulder's finest were harassing her during my cut. I should go back to PR. I miss Zara she gave a wicked cut and was a cool G-vile FL gal.
The music was blaring and the stylists were drinking boxed wine. That's about all I remember...
I once had a walkin haircut by a woman named London. She does a great job. She can even give your hair spikes (which I didn't get). I did get layers in the front which looked very nice. The atmosphere is hip and the people who work there are friendly. It costs a bit more than places like Great Clips. However, it's nice to treat yourself now and then to a really good cut.
I have finally found a place that does great hair! After wandering from salon to salon since moving here from New York, I had my hair done by a super experienced girl from New York!! Go visit Laura!
