My cousin was craving Asian/Thai/hibachi food and recommended this spot for us to visit. We both ordered the steak and chicken, which comes with a side and veggies. For my side we both got fried rice(a small up charge) and mixed grilled veggies. The cooks are super friendly and cook right in front of you, they also toss pieces of shrimp/chicken etc to see if you can catch it. I love that if you order shrimp and chicken with fried rice, they give you both noodles and rice sometimes and some shrimp to try. The food was absolutely delicious! Meat was seasoned very very well. The fried rice and noodles were delicious! My cousin ended up ordering a second order of the fried rice alone.
Customer service was great, there's plenty of parking available. We went on a Tuesday afternoon so it wasn't busy at all. They also serve wine, which also a plus. Although the ambiance was lacking and could be a bit more inviting and modern, the restaurant is a 5/5 for sure for the food and service alone. Will visit again hopefully next week!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 13, 2019
So I went here for happy hour and got sushi and some fried rice and a few drinks, and let me tell you that this place was absolutely amazing. Now this wasn't at all my first time here but it just made me say to myself why haven't I been coming here once a week. Yes it's that good. So I started out with a Long Island Ice tea and that was fabulous because the bartender really know what he's doing. Then I ordered the shrimp tempura as my app, and sushi and combination fried rice. And everything was very very delicious, customer service was great and couldn't ask for a better time.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. It is the "go-to" spot for family birthday dinners. They have great food and a warm and inviting atmosphere! I always have a blast and leave with a full belly when dining in at Ziki!

I visited here on a Saturday evening with 6 people in my party. We were seated right away and waited on within minutes. The orders were put in, the Chef came out, and the food was cook very fast. Not only was the food good but the chef was very entertaining! He would spray sake in our moths during "sake time" and toss shrimp in our mouths at the end(I expect that at every hibachi place).
The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is due to the appearance of inside and out. The parking and landscaping isn't really kept and the inside looks like a Chinese restaurant that needs a solid deep clean(i.e. nooks and cranny's are dirty).
Overall, I recommend trying this place at least once! #yelpMDburbsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - MinJee S.Olney, MD38155282Aug 12, 2018
I really liked Ziki's.
They give you noodles, rice (if fried they charge you extra), veggies, soup, salad, two pieces of shrimp, and a choice of protein for a standard hibachi meal.
Expect to play over 20 dollars.
Once you sit (we had 0 waiting time, maybe because we were a party of 2 and we had a reservation), you get your drink order and then after everyone orders then you get your soup and salad.
The chef comes out within 15 minutes. Since you have your soup and salad the time doesn't feel long and you don't feel hangry. You also get your drinks and sushi orders at this time.
The chef we had was named Sic, he was exceptional. His jokes and skills were great. I highly recommend him.
The show and cooking of your meal takes about 30 minutes. Some parts of your meal will come faster than other parts. If you order chicken, that is the last protein to leave the grill (because chicken needs to be thoroughly cooked), so be prepared to eat that last.
If you like free sake and are of legal age, the chef will likely offer you some.
Pricing (not exact)
Sushi rolls range from 5-14 dollars
Desserts range from 6-10 dollars (most were $7 or $8)
Hibachi meals $20-30
*this would be a GREAT first date idea*
I think this is a truly lovely restaurant. You get so much food, and it is such an experience. Most people stay here for an hours time, so if you have plans after please keep that in mind for planning.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 5, 2019
Nice place for eat in carry out. A little steep in price, but great tasting tasting food. And not really any steeper than other local Japanese steak houses.
As one of the grandkin said, "it's kinda like Sakura Japanese steak house, but without the yum-yum sauce." Great description from a 10-year-old, and it speaks volumes - 'cause really, the yum-yum sauce DOES MATTER.
Still, it's good food. Not greasy. Well-seasoned. All the fried rice options are good. The steaks cooked to order preference. Chicken is tasty, as are the veggies and the salmon.
Friendly staff. Quick "phone order to pick up time" even during dinner hour.
Have heard they offer good Happy Hour drinks specials with a wide variety of options. Will have to check that out. Does not look like they have food specials during HH though.
All good! Nice to have options (even without the yum-yum sauce :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Casie N.Los Angeles, CA255400907Jan 19, 2018
Came here for a family renuion and it was fun for everyone! It's pretty fun when you take up a whole replay table.
Pros: the chefs were HILARIOUS! Very interactive and cooked our food in a very fun way with getting the whole table involved. They give you two dipping sauces too so that added some extra flavor to the grill and was fantastic.
Cons: food was alright. The salad was drenched in dressing and had more dressing than salad. Very thin slices of mushrooms in the soup too.. There was about 6 pieces of the naturo roll for $13 so ehhh. Tempura ice cream was food but had a lot of batter. The meat and grill food was fine as the fried rice had good flavor unlike most places.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - General W.Gaithersburg, MD2130119Jul 22, 2018
The best sushi place in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I say that because the food is good and the sushi staff are really friendly.
When I come here, I always sit at the sushi bar just for their company. They don't refill your water but that's like all Asian places. I guess it's the norm.
Their pineapple sale is really good. Just becareful drinking it because it will hit you when your least expected.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emily N.Rockville, MD0159284Mar 5, 2018
This place has gone DOWN hill. Let me start off by saying, the wait is rather long without a reservation. But that wasn't the issue.. the place itself needs a facelift! The teppanyaki grills were legit gross. Clearly from years of build up.. the wooden bar across the stove where the chef would stand was dangling on by a thread.
Secondly, the food was expensive and bland. The chef was rushing through and did no effort to interact with the crowd or season the food. I completely understand that it was a Saturday night and it was 8pm. But if I'm paying $23.50 PLUS an extra $2.00 for fried rice, it better be some bomb fried rice and I better be getting some shrimp thrown at me! But instead after he "cleaned" the grill top, he pulled out a couple of soft cubes of tofu and did it for the kids at the table. Which let me say... there was only one.
Overall, waste of time and money. Will not return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 22, 2019
We came to this hibachi restaurant as first timers and I selected the hibachi chicken and shrimp, my husband selected the seafood deluxe (which includes shrimp lobster scallops and salmon). They brought out the salad and the miso soup. The salad had a vinegar-based salad dressing instead of ginger and a watery ranch dressing. The miso soup had "fake" mushrooms in it, no tofu, the seaweed looked old. The water was extremely cloudy in the glasses. Our chef came to the grill and prepared our food. He put the "Yum Yum sauce" in the dishes and I when I tasted it, it tasted like ranch dressing. It was watery as well. We stuck it out and decided to still try the actual food, not a good experience. My chicken from the chicken and shrimp dish was extremely dry and chewy. His salmon was thin and they cut the scallops in half, so he didn't even get the full portion paid for. We ended up letting the manager know we were dissatisfied. We're off to Kabuto...wish us luck
