I would have to say, this place is the real deal. The first time i ever walked into the store, i was a little concerned. It is on a small side street, right next to a grocery store and a few small shops in what is otherwise a mainly residential area. And the place looked like it was a garage storage unit. So when i walked through the door to a loud noise with nobody in sight you can imagine my concern. Luckily things turned out great from there. The reason that i didn't see anyone when walking in was that the one employee was in the back roasting coffee. Needless to say, the aroma when inside told me immediately that this was going turn out quite well.
Since buying a few different coffee's to try that first visit, i have been back many times to refresh my stash. I also turned my father on to the place, and he goes there for all of his coffee needs. And this is a man who had previously used the same coffee for the last 40 years.
If you enjoy coffee, this is the place to get your beans. Keep in mind though, this is a not a coffee shop, its a roastery. You will not walk out of here with a cup i hand.
This reminds me of Blue Bottle in SF- great coffee, insanely great coffee, like if you haven't had good coffee, look no more, and if you have had good coffee, same goes for you. Nice guys and no nonsense- you can't get a caramel macchiato here, but what can you get? Good coffee beans!
