It's open til 3am...that, right there, is awesome.
The perfect late night spot for an appetite for something not so on the regular...Mexican. Chinese. Burgers. Pizza...
been there, done that.
Being Filipino, I am an appreciator of the Filipino breakfast. Longaniza (a savory Filipino sausage), Garlic Fried Rice with a fried egg happily placed on top, Tocino...oh my!
I've taken my non Filipino friends here and they were impressed with the great helpings of food and to be able to introduce them to something other than the typical late night spots was a breath of fresh air.
Come here after a night out on the town and unwind to really yummy Filipino food. The service isnt the most prompt but be patient. The food is worth it. Some people think the people there are rude but I think otherwise. I've had happy service--maybe it's my charming wit? heh heh heh...ok, the service isnt the BEST but the food made it to my table all in one piece and it tasted good...therefore service is awesome.
: )
I dont ask much. All I ask is that you feed me and I leave happy and full. Zarlitos always succeeds in doing just that.
If you like Filipino food, this place is the place to go. It's open till 3 am on Saturday and you can't beat that (You know what I mean, late night drinking fest and you need a bite to eat). Good food and it's a great alternative from Albertos or some other fast food Mexican joint.
The lonsilog or topsilog meals are great. Meat, rice, lumpia... what a great combination. I know that it's very typical, but why change something that is so good.
The service on the other hand is something else. If you need a refill, good luck. They hardly come by to check on or yet alone refill your drink. It seems that the servers are only here for limited service. They take your order, give ONE glass of water and bring your food to you and that's about it. As soon as you get your food, the server disappears.
I gave this place three stars because I'm a fan and been here multiple times. If the service is better the rating will increase dramatically. Just come here for the REALLY GOOD FOOD and not the service.
Oh how I wish we had a 24 hour food place in Mira Mesa that wasn't a burger joint. No offense to burger joints but for an ethnically diverse area like Mira Mesa you'd think we'd have something like that. Not just the autotune lists of chain restaurants.
Great food and it reminds me of home cooking since becoming a student I haven't had a lot of home cooked meals. I'm a tapsilog fan. And give me the vinegar and rice and I'm a happy camper. Highly recommend to anyone from the morning to your fourth meal.
Theres nothing better than good old FRIED filipino food after a night of drinking! This place is open til 3 or 4 am or something! LOVE IT!
Haven't been there in quite some time but Zarlitos is a special place for me. Love there food, but gotta be honest and mention, i've had a bad meal here. I usually get the Kare-Kare which is usually good, but one time, had a waterdown Kare-Kare before. Otherwise, the food is good and the service could use some work. Definitely would recommend tho...
Oh yah! Zarlitos! The late night place for some late night Filipino food! The place where your Filipino accent comes out even if you have no idea how to speak Tagalog. The place where when you walk in, all the Filipinos stare at you when you walk into the restaurant and it feels awkward for some reason...
The food is awesome! If you like Pinoy style breakfast, this is the joint! Longanisa, Tocino, garlic fried rice, shanghai lumpia, sunny-side fried egg... Just to name a few. Yes, this is the place to go to for their food...
On the other hand, the service is sh*t!!! Politeness? Naw... Hospitality? Nope... Smiles? Yah right! Personality? Uh, no... They have one purpose and one purpose only! Deliver your food and take your money... except for one guy, uncle was smiling and very polite... too bad he doesn't usually deliver the food.. but anyways...
If you want some good pinoy food for a bargain price, come here! If you're expecting decent service to come along with the food, you'll be extremely disappointed...
I find myself coming here even though the service is crap... I guess the food is just that good...
Been going here since i was a toddler. Decided to end the Spring Semester here to celebrate the arrival of Summer vacation. This place has always offered awesome Filipino food throughout the years. You can't find much to eat past 1AM besides burgers and Mexican..........and Zarlito's! The fuckin place closes at fuckin 3AM. Shit mang.
They're food is good too. I really don't understand why people grade them so low.
My score of 5 stars are based on the following items that i have tried and undoubtedly enjoyed:
- Sinigang na Baboy (tamarind pork stew)
- Fried Pusit (fried calamari)
- Tapsilog/Tocilog (Garlic fried rice, eggs, tender pork or beef)
- Tortang Talong (Eggplant omelete)
- Kari Kari (Oxtail Peanut stew)
- Manila fried Chicken
I decided i wanted to head out to get some good Filipino Breakfast . " Toci Log ", Longsi Log , OMG Lechon Kawale was the pretty good although i don't each much fried food and high cholesterol heart attack food.
I couldn't help it. So going to Zarlito's off 8th street and the 5fwy in National City i tried their Toci log which comes with
1. Garlic Rice OMG good stuff
2. Two Egg's Sunny Side Up
3. Tocino
For dirt cheap... gee's i can't remember but yes i did drive all the way to San Diego from Inland Empire just to have breakfast at this place....
Unbelievable prices and good food. This place is a mama papa joint, it's not your classy restaurant, however if you just want to have some good garlic rice this is the place. Service is okay, they don't except VISA or Mastercard or Check.. They only except cash, if you didn't bring cash, go to your car and use your quarters because it's that cheap.
I figure i always have about 4 dollars worth of quarters after getting my change @ Starbucks LOL
Try it out.. What can go wrong...
My sister, nephew and I went here a couple of days ago. I've been coming here ever since I moved here to San Diego back in 98. We were really hungry and we had a choice: Pho across the street or Zarlitos. Obviously, Zarlitos won (mainly because Zarlitos was on the side I was driving).
Food is somewhat improving, I remember I would come here late at night after I got off work (from a karaoke bar), and the food was kinda gross, made me stop going here for a good year. But like I said, food is improving, its just not there yet.
I ordered TOCILOG (Sweet Pork, Fried Rice and Egg), and Tokwa at Baboy (Tofu and Pork). My sister ordered Pinakbet (I think... see picture) and my nephew ordered a combo plate with lots of food in it (lol my nephew is 3 yrs old)
Customer service here is STILL THE SAME! AWFUL. Its worse then Vietnamese! They will NOT give you extra vinegar, and they will not give you water unless your dying. I think its because we're young, and they think young people are rude to older people.
One weird thing that I never experienced ANYWHERE was when we were almost done eating, our server came up to us and said something. We didn't understand what the hell she said, but we did manage to hear something about paying now. She stood infront of us, waiting for the money! I was like, "dude, were not done eating yet, and we'll pay when were ready to pay...." Is what I shouldve said. We gave her the monies and dipped.
Tapsilog pls.thats all i order at zarlitos.some good shit!
It's no secret that I love Filipino food. With that being said Zarlitos is really good. It's open really late and the food is always consistently good. The adobo, tocino, crispy pata, Lumpia, and anything that ends in itlog with be really really tasty. They are also open very late so it is nice being able to get some bomb ass Filipino food after a long night of partying.
My only gripe about this place is that the service always sucks big time. I only see the waitress to get my drinks and when she brings out the food - but that's it. The other downfall here is that it's cash only which can be a problem for someone like me who usually never carries cash and always uses a debt card.
Maybe next time I will try ordering the food TO GO instead of sitting down to eat. Either that or I will just go over to Goldilocks instead. If you want really good Filipino home cooked food at any time of the day this place is good but be forewarned about the crappy service. Happy Trails!
good after the club spot mos def. Everything on the menu is bomb. my favorite is the "adsilog". That's Pork or chicken adobo w/ 2 sunny sideup eggs over reg. or garlic fried rice. You're mouth watering yet? ha. When i'm hungry hungry i order a side of veg. lumpia w/ vinegar on the side. good peoples, good laughs, and funny ass characters at night w/ all them old nanas coming from the club down the street.
My friend & I were craving fried pusit (calamari) on a late Saturday night and needed our fix. We had to wait awhile because the Trophy Lounge troupe/Auntie Bebes arrived before us--they were in full effect decked out in their finest--one of them had on shiny purple tassled hotpants and a top about 3 sizes too small. Said friend & I looked at each other and immediately decided to get the food to go instead after we got the evil auntie stare down.
When we got home with our order, we were all set to dig in. The fried pusit was the bomb but then we found ants in our garlic fried rice--did they really think we wouldn't notice?? GROSS! And upon closer inspection, NO, they weren't bits of fried burnt garlic---the sons of bitches were ants!! Ugh, I gag just thinking about it. Never again!! We ended up making our own garlic fried rice instead =/
Had a late Saturday breakfast there. Was hoping for a turo-turo type setting, but had to just settle since we were so hungry. We chose tapsilog, Zarlito's fried rice, and egg foo yung. Our "college son" server came back more than five minutes later to tell us that they ran out of beef tapa. Hel-lo, people in the back communicate with your people in the front!! I thought our order would take longer b/c of that, but it didn't take too long. (Thank God, b/c I was starving!) Anyhoo, our food was good. Heard that it would be greasy, but it wasn't. Good-sized portions... had to take home the leftovers.
Service: Our college son server was attentive for the most part, or at least in the beginning and in the end he was. Didn't refill the water until we were close to done. Other than that, he made a good effort.
Atmosphere: I think they need to step it up a bit with decor. Get the fountain running (put some tilapia in it or something--lol), remove the flower thingee and put some wooden spoons and forks or bamboo or orchids. It doesn't have to be anything fancy schmancy... just spice it up with a little more culture! And get rid of that ugly gangsta music. It just doesn't mesh w/ the "family restaurant" theme.
Late night and craving a meal from the Filipno cusine...Zarlito's got your fix. Don't worry all of your favorites are here. Pancit, lumpia, adobo...it's all pretty food here. Not the greatest, but it hits the spot. Check it out...definitely 3 stars.
If you're looking for a late night Filipino chow for cheap.. this is the place.
I always get the fried rice, beef and eggs! Awesome for breakfast or dinner!
Me and my buddies from work used to come by every Friday night after work since they are open til like 1 or 2 am. The food is pretty cheap and you get good portions.
I don't think they accept credit cards though.
First of all, parking here SUCKS.
I ordered a tapsilog and was expecting lots of meat but when i opened up the box, there were little itsy bitsy pieces of beef. Not a lot of beef! I swear there were like 8 small little squares of beef. Gosh so stingy. anyway, the quality of the beef was too hard, and the taste was very bland....not tasty at all. would not go here again....the Tapsilog at Cunchings is much better.
Tapsilog or Longsilog are the best after celebrating the nightlife with friends. Ha! Drunken Times!!!
Zarlitos... that's like Alberto's, Adalberto's, or Roberto's right?
So wrong.
Zarlitos isn't yet another Mexican joint, but a family friendly Filipino restaurant where the cooks know how to cook real Filipino food and the patrons know how to park Asian style (you will know what this means when you think you see a free parking spot in their lot...).
Meat plus sinangag (garlic fried rice) with itlog (eggs over easy) makes for some interesting "Filipino delights" as listed on their menu, including Spamsilog. At $5.50, it's quite a bargain for a meal. Our hero liked the tosilog here made with sweet pork, which was superior to their chewy and overcooked beef tapsilog. A great way to eat the sinangag is to pop the soft egg yolk over it and mix up the gooey yellow goodness with the rice.
During the meal, our hero's friend stated, "Hey, I think you're the lightest skinned person here."
"Yeah... do white people even come here at all?"
"YES!" His friend said defensively. "... okay. No."
PROS:
- Authentic Filipino cuisine. This place is so real they only play Filipino shows on their TV.
- You get a lot of rice with your "-silog" dishes.
- Open super late.
CONS:
- Not exactly the cleanest establishment. The tablecloths were covered with the grease from someone else's lumpia.
- There was a hair in my vinegar that came with the tapsilog. Hairnets not used in the kitchen?
- Cash only.
Once a regular stop for me when my social life involved intense liver punishment, this late night option for comfort food and anti-venom is always on the short list. My last visit was during traditional dinner hours, but the experience just the same: casual, simple and satisfying. Though the people-watching is not as interesting. I usually opt for one of the breakfast options with a fried meat dish, fried eggs and fried rice, then a side order of something else fried... in case you haven't noticed the trend - check your cholesterol aversion at the door. I don't look at the menu anymore, but I think the only heart-friendly item in the building might be the beverages. Prices are low, food is decent and the staff is friendly. Hey, it's all about moderation. Afterward, if you're feeling guilty, stop in at the Catholic church across the street, cleanse your conscience and hit the road. Peace be with you.
If you want to pay for good filipino food (that you can make at home for a lot cheaper), come to Zarlitos. The price isn't bad for the convenience of just ordering, eating, then leaving.
Get anything that ends with a silog. The first syllable just indicates what meat you're getting. But you'll always get siningag (garlic fried rice) and itlog (egg) with whatever the first syllable is. My favorite is tosilog -- tosino (a sweet pork cutlet).
Ooh, you can also get chicharon bulaklak here. It will clog up your arteries, but if you were going to do it with something, this is the way to go. It's especially good when dipped in vinegar... mmmmmmm
It's late at night and I'm hungry. With a capital "H". For some reason, carne asada chips, at my favorite Mexican food place, or a club sandwich, with season fries and ranch, at Denny's just isn't gonna cut it.
This girl wants RICE. She needs RICE. So, where to go?
Zarlito's is my all time favorite (and only) late night dining place, when I want my Filipino food. Your typical comfort food is sold here. Price range for food is between $6-$10. If you don't want to do a sit down, you can definitely order to go.
The best deals are the Silog plates, that typically come with your choice of meat (beef tapa, pork longonisa, chicken tocino, spam, adobo, fish, so on and so on), two scoops of garlic fried rice and two over easy eggs. A great price when you've spent most of your money drinking most of the night. The Silog plates are especially good when you need to soak up all that alcohol!
The place and the service isn't all that impressive. The parking lot and spaces are ridiculously small. But do not fear! There's ample street parking. And the decor? Well, if you are eating there late at night, you're probably be too drunk or too hungry or both, to care. The service is just efficient. They come in, get your order and you get your food.
I have many a fond memories here with friends. Definitely my place of choice, when I think of late night food.
Zarlito's might be good spot for drunk food, but as a restaurant in general, it is average at best.
FOOD: My girlfriend ordered the sweet 'n sour pork came with egg rolls, white rice and pancit (noodles) and she said it was OK for Filipino food (she is Filipino herself). I ordered beef with broccoli and shrimp fried rice, which was good. Health-wise, many dishes are fried and are probably high in cholesterol, fat and salt. Good drunk food? Yes. Good to eat on a consistent basis? No.
PRICES: Zarlito's is pretty cheap, with most dishes around $10, give or take a few bucks.
SERVICE: After getting our initial drinks, our waitress disappeared and we sat to the point to where we were looking around, wondering if someone was going to come and take our order. 15 minutes must have passed.
Considering we were the only ones there, the service was pretty slow and inattentive. The drinks were fairly small, so at one point I was actually drinking water from my girlfriend's glass, until the waitress finally decided to reappear and bring more water.
ATMOSPHERE: The decor was a bit stale, with an old fountain with nothing coming out of it. Our table was dirty when we sat down, with salt sprinkled on it.
PARKING: The parking lot is small and the parking spaces themselves are even smaller. It looks like they were made for go-carts. My car barely squeezed into one and it is not a big car by any means.
I wish there was another place you could go to if one had a late-night craving for some real good Filipino food. The food is not all that great. I've had better Filipino food: either at Chow King or Goldilocks.
Another gripe I have with this place is they only take cash. We all know why businesses would do that. The service at Zarlito's is inconsistent. They are either really timely with your order or they're very rude when you arrive near closing time.
Other than that, the tapsilog is great and is a-ok for a late-night munch. This place is a popular place after clubbing hours so if you plan on coming with groups, be wary of the wait!
Good Filipino food if you're craving it late on weekends. BUT, dont expect good service, in fact dont expect any service at all. The waitress just gets your order, gives you your water, then you're food and then COMPLETELY disappears. You can be the only customer there and they wont even check on you to see how everything is going or refill you're water. One time, me and my girl waited almost 30 minutes to get our orders, the only reason why we stayed was because we were craving Pinoy food and they're the only dump open late at night. I don't think I'd be coming back here since Conchings have a late night cafe open and there's another joint that's better that opened closer to my house.
I have to echo many of the reviews I have read about this place.
When my wife and I first came to visit SD, my wife's cousin took us to Zarlitos for dinner. We got in at about 10pm, and this is probably the only late nite Filipino joint in the area (nix that, I know conchings has a buffet that goes til midnite or 1am but only on the weekends)
My wife and I were starving, and on the recommendation of her cousin got the tapsilog (beef tapas, egg and rice). The tapsilog was great, and very cheap too. My wife got the longanisa breakfast, and that too was pretty rocking. Our niece got halo halo, which didn't look spectacular, but she seemed to enjoy it alright.
This place is definitely not a place to go for ambience. Have the restaurant wasn't even lit, and chairs were stacked on unused tables.
The good- cheap food, open late
The bad- the service is pretty rude. If you don't know anything about Filipino food, don't expect any help from these people.
The ugly- not the greatest area, but if you're craving Filipino late nite ,this is where its at
Bottom line - go for good cheap food, any expectation past that and you're setting yourself up for disappointment
The first time I met my husband was the same night as the first time I ever ate at Zarlito's.
After a night of clubbing with my girls, of course we wanted some late night food. We stopped by Zarlito's at around 2:30 in the morn, and the place was packed! It was like an after-party. I wasn't very impressed with the place... it seemed a little boring and old. But because it was crowded, I figured the food must be good.
Looking at the menu I was surprised at the cheap prices. I decided to order Tocilog (Pork Tocino, 2 eggs overeasy and garlic fried rice), which costs about $6. This is usually a breakfast dish, but it was kinda breakfast time since it was 2:30 in the morning. The food tasted similar if not the same as the way my mom cooks it. I knew I had to go back here again another day.
Well the next stop at Zarlito's didn't come for a couple years. Not because I didn't like the food, I just lived in North County and stopping over wasn't very convenient. Second time at Zarlito's, I ordered one of my favorite Filipino dishes... Goto (Beef Tripe rice porridge). Now I've had some really good Goto while living in the Philippines. My Aunt also makes a fabulous Goto. It is usually made with tripe as well as other various internal organs (Sorry if I'm grossing you out, but I love this stuff!) mixed with rice, sometimes blood cake (which I usually skip) flavored with fish sauce and ginger. The Goto at Zarlito's was good, but slightly disappointing... no tripe and not a lot of other meats. I was happy that there was no blood cake, though. But considering that I haven't discovered Goto at other restaurants in San Diego, this was enough to satisfy my craving.
I have been to Zarlito's many times since then. But I generally go for the Tapsilog (Beef Tapa, 2 eggs overeasy and garlic fried rice). What can I say... having Filipino breakfast anytime of the day is great! I haven't had much on the rest of the menu. Any of the -silog items are a great deal and yummy. Kare-kare (oxtail stew with tripe) is pretty decent. I give it 4 stars because it's my favorite place for Filipino breakfast anytime, but other food on the menu is ok (pansit luglug is bland and greasy) and the place needs an update on decor and furniture.
I showed up late at night following a night at the Gaslamp with my Asian friends. LOL Yeah, I mix it up. I keep it real. LOL
Zarlito's late night is ghetto fabulous, but who can beat spam and eggs late at night?
Good times.
On the plane to San Diego and what's on my mind? Tocilog. The second I'm off the plane the first thing I head straight for is Zarlitos Family Restaurant. I am such a huge fan of their Tosilog. My San Diego trip is never complete unless I get my Zarlitos fix.
My meals are usually TO GO though? I've probably ate there once and that was cause my Brother and Aunt wanted to sit down and have the meals fresh instead of take home. Either way? It all tastes the same to me :) How everything just mixes in together with their Garlic Fried Rice just hits the right spot for me.
Although I could make my own version of Tosilog, I just wait a couple months until I head to San Diego again to get my fix. LOL, it's the only time I could really eat something like that when I'm so tight on what I consume! Hahaha if I continued down the path of eating a dish like that ALL THE TIME then I'd just get tired of the place.
Any place that has me eating on dining room furniture still covered in plastic and let's me eat with one knee up to my chest is a yah dawg in my book. Makes me feel at home.
Now this is one spot that has bomb Filipino food.
It is open quite late so it is a great alternative to taco shops/fast food/Denny's if your craving for something different.
The pricing is great as its very cheap for huge portions for a sit-in restaurant and you will leave stuffed with food coma, lol.
The service here is good and all the staff here are very friendly.
A great place for late LATE night outings. I give it a plus for the phone order as well. But I really don't like that it's a CASH only place. I mean come on, nowadays every place takes at least VISA. Get with the new year people.
The times I went, the service was alright, they can be rude at times and may i add, they have a bit of a staring problem. Maybe it's just me or what, but the waitress' love to stare. And they make it seem so obvious.
I really like the fried calamari and tocilog. yum..again if you have little patience like me with rude people, i dont
Interesting.
I think my favorite part was the waitress describing the method of ordering from the buffet table as "point point", because you get to choose two items by pointing to them. They come with garlic rice.
The food was average. But the people serving it were wonderfully nice and the prices were low enough that I would have left feeling bad if I didn't leave a nice tip.
Filipino TV programming might be better if I knew the language, but I'm really not sure...
good but bad service.
Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning, right before the church crowd came in.
We tried:
Longsilog - flavorful, reminded me of back home, but the longanisa was not freshly made. Garlic rice was good, but the over easy eggs could have been crispier.
Tocilog - tocino was better than the longanisa, trimmed of fat, and just the right level of tenderness. Rice was the same.
Both were accompanied by suka (palm vinegar) with a sprinkling of pepper on top.
The one guy working the morning shift was nice and friendly.
Not really 4 star worthy, but thought I'd try to raise the score of this place, I think it deserves better.
I don't know, maybe I came on a bad day?
I came here around 10pm-ish on a Friday. There were some people, but the place wasn't packed, and I'd say the seats were about 40% occupied. After being seated, the amount of time I sat idle before the waitress took my order was beyond anything acceptable. That might have spoiled my appetite, because I was not enjoying the food as much as I really wanted to.
After finishing our meal (and finding a hair in my rice..), I didn't realize that it was cash only until the bill came. Had to make a trip to the bank a few blocks down to pull some cash.
I don't know, but I'm really against sit-down restaurants that are cash only. I know they're trying to save themselves from the transaction fees, but come on, there is no customer service here.
Why should I come here when it is a complete inconvenience to me? Oh that's right, I'm not coming back here.
unlike a lot of filipino restaurants in the area, this is one where you actually sit and order from a menu (unlike the cafeteria style of most nearby places). prices typically range between $5-$9 per meal/item, and combinations plates are available for those that want a little bit of everything. as for parking, it's hardly an issue because of the availability of street parking.
there are two things that this place is known for. it's known for what i like to call the -ilog items (e.g, longsilog, tocilog, tapsilog) which are usually some type of cured meat or pork with rice and eggs, and the other is for being open till 3am on fri./sat. nights. they're also notorious for being the late night dining spot for club goers at the trophy lounge-but that's a whole other story.
the food in general is decent, and the portion sizes are respectable. i'll usually order an -ilog item (usually tocilog), and some type of finger food (e.g., lumpia shanghai, chicharon bulaklak, pusit). here's my take on what i usually get.
- ilog items - they're sweet, fatty, and probably a heart attack waiting to happen.
- finger foods (pulutan) - chicharon bulaklak, pusit, lumpia - deep fried goodness. it's one of those items that are hard to mess up on. it's either you like it, or you won't.
now on to the bad. the late night (fri./sat. after midnight) service can be horrendous. the staff is usually overwhelmed, and your order will come late. it's gotten to the point to where i stopped eating here late night. still, this isn't service typically found during the day; their non late-night service is pretty average.
* what i liked
- tocilog
- longsilog
- lumpia shanghai
- chicharon bulaklak
- pusit
* what i didn't like
- late night service
Nothing beats a night of Zarlito's, and mojitos at home.
your traditional -silogs are tasty. I had the menudo and my friend had the very appetizing crispy pata. YUM!
home-cooked filipino food, with the filipino-style ambiance. Random fountain in the middle of the room, wowowee showing, and mirrors everywhere.
the prices are fantastically low, too!
Came here for breakfast on my last day in SoCal....after a long night of drinking, this place really hit the spot. My friend gave us a heads up as to what to expect from the service...and I guess my friend has been there so many times that it went down exactly as he described, to a tee. But since he had prepared us, I didn't think it was that bad...plus, it's clearly a family-run restaurant, and they were definitely doing their best.
In terms of the food...as I said, it really hit the spot. We had a bunch of stuff...lumpia, tocilog, longsilog, and, because we're all from Hawaii...spamsilog! Since we all had cash, I didn't even notice the cash only policy, but I admit that can definitely be inconvenient and does sometimes make shy away from places.
This was one of the first pinoy joints to be open late night. My friends and I eventually started to hit this place up instead of Sergio's cause we wanted the ever famous *-log. My favorite is the toci-log, hook me up with some suka (is that how its spelled) and I'm straight. Other food items were good but avoid the pancit, a little to greasy IMO. The sinigang was lacking the maasim-ness I like in my mom's. While not the cleanest place, its not the dirtiest either. Anyway, eventually the service started to degrade and other spots opened up so I hardly go here any more.
