A top rate Black owned Bookstore with books up the yang. All new releases and they'll search for a book if they don't stock it. Lots of authentic African artifacts and art, straight from Africa. The owners go to Africa themselves to pick the collection. A great place to buy gifts from the Cidne Wallace Collection, Annie Lee and other artists. They buy and sell used books oils, calendars purses and totes. The location is great and plenty of parking in the back. Convenient as it sits near Ralphs so you can get your grocery shopping on at the same time.
this bookstore is good for the type of books they sell, but if you're looking for titles that are not so mainstream or "popular", you won't find them here. for the more offbeat or political/intellectual titles, i would suggest you go to the store over in leimert park (can't remember the name...not dawah's...maybe esowon relocated recently to leimert?). decent wall calendars.
