The first time I went here, Ed Westwick of Gossip Girl fame showed up and asked everyone to play pool with him. I couldn't tell if he was friendly or desperate for attention.
Well drinks are only $5, and for something so close to Bedford, it's surprisingly uncrowded on weekends. Great place to meet up with people, smoking patio in the front, all around an enjoyable destination. -

My friends and I stumbled upon this place after having brunch;
Zablozki's has 3 dollar Mimosas all weekend long!t It served as an economical way to continue the buzz that started off with the more pricey Mimosas at our brunch spot. The champagne used was surprisingly OK (although the name is escaping me at the moment).
The staff is very friendly and attentive, and they have other great drink specials. The ambiance is nice and low-key , (kinda divey, pool table, dimly lit, plenty of seating) . I will definitely be going back. -

Alan l.'s got it right: cheap drinks, nice bartenders. and to that, i'll add on nice atmosphere, pleasant crowd and not a dump-dive, but more old styled mahogany woody feel with a cliche-brooklyn urbanism to it. its a plus that the bar doesnt get too loud as well.
WORST PART:
CASH ONLY and ONLY 1 LADIES ROOM.
however, it does make up for it by having cheap drinks ($6 brooklyn lager , $8 dark+stormy), an ATM in the entrance and having the one and only ladies room extremely spacious and for the most part quite clean.
is it a destination bar? not so much. But will def. pop in when im around. -

standard bar, decent drink prices, and a nice dart board. The DJ booth/nook is where all the energy emanates from.
The lighting can be a little dark at times. -

I came here on a Friday night and it was a fairly good time. Zablozki's is a spacious bar with a pool table, dartboard, and a pinball machine. They have $2 PBRs and plenty of places to sit. I felt like they could've played more upbeat music, but in general I was very content with my experience.
...until after we left, when my friend told me about his altercation with the blonde bartender (with bangs).
I guess he asked the bartender for a PBR. She handed it to him, and he gave her $2. She then said, "so you're not gonna tip?" in a bitchy way. This is really ridiculous and annoying because a) bartenders should not ask for tip, and b) she can't just assume that he wasn't going to tip afterwards. So my friend told her, "well, not anymore!" and she told him that she was just going to ignore him the rest of the night.
I'm sorry Zablozki's, you were good to me but I have to deduct 2 stars for hiring a bartender who does not know how to treat a customer. You can tell her that we will not be coming back because of her.Listed in: williamsburg !

Gee, this place is great. The wife and I love to bring out-of-towner visitors here. The staff have always been on-the-ball and friendly, and the drinks are cheap. Not the best place to get premium beers at happy hour prices (i.e. no Guinness for $4), but they pretty much always have Yuengling and PBR around $2-3, and Bud+whiskey for $5. The lighting is perfectly dim, the music is bartender-chosen and usually pretty good (and not too loud), and the place is spacious, with plenty of seating.
The times I've gone on Saturday night have been a little crowded, but that's not surpising...otherwise I've never had probs finding a seat. Bottoms up! -

Me:What do you want to do tonight?
Friend: I don't know.
Me: Let's go somewhere.
Friend: Where?
Me: I don't know.
Well, we always end up at Zablozki's no matter how creative we get. I blame it on the drink specials, every night, even on the weekends! It doesn't get too overly crowded like some places so that you can actually hear yourself and carry a conversation with your friends. Plenty of benches, tables and a sofa in the back. One pinball machine in the front and one in the back, $2 pool, darts are free but you need to leave your ID with the bartender as collateral for darts.
The best part of it all, this place is dog friendly!! Be careful though, my puggle had her first drink at 4 months when some tard left their cocktail on the floor to play with her.
Great neighborhood bar and staff who won't kick you out until they close up shop (4am)! -

Zablozki's is a great place to grab a drink with some friends...provided it's not on a Thursday through Sunday evening. On Thursdays through Sundays, it fills up with bridge 'n tunnelers who are waiting to get in to Sea across the street. The crowd is obnoxious, the place is packed, and it gets way too loud to hold a conversation. Those other nights of the week though, it's a cool place.
The year they opened I came in on my birthday (which I think was a Sunday or Monday...definitely an off night). The place was empty, and the bartendress let me pick music off her iPod and gave me a number of free shots. They definitely get kudos for that alone. -

I stumbled upon Zablozki's on Saturday afternoon with a few friends after the cask beer festival at d.b.a turned out to be nothing but a massive clusterfuck. Hellbent on finding afternoon beers, we were lured in by the chalkboard outside advertising $2 PBRs. Granted, $2 PBR special and 5-star worthy establishment are not generally things that go hand in hand. But Zabloski's is exactly the kind of bar I like. Pool table? Check. Dartboard? Check. Lots of dark wood? Check. Friendly bartender, lots of seating, cheap drinks? Check, check, check.
I'm a fan of neighborhood watering holes where people come to do work or read, wisely substituting beer for coffee, the usual study beverage of choice. On the afternoon I visited, there were just as many people with laptops as people with pool cues. For me, that's a thumbs up, because if the noise level is unobtrusive enough to get work done, chances are good that you don't have to scream to have a conversation with your friends.
To be fair, I have no idea what this place is like once the sun goes down. It may totally suck, making my 5-star rating abysmally inaccurate. But for daytime drinking, it doesn't get much better. -

This place is one of my favorite bars in Will-burg. The music is generally good, and the atmosphere feels right. I come here most often on weekend afternoons (especially in the summer when they have the front doors open to the street), so it's never crowded. Regardless, there's still ample space even when it fills up in the evenings.
It has pinball, darts, and two pinball tables ($.50 a game if I can remember) - if only it had a foosball table, then it'd be perfect for the "after-hours athlete." There's also a TV and projection screen for featuring actual athletes.
The beer is cheap ($2 PBR, Yuengling for $3 or $4), and the mixed drinks are solid. The one thing it's lacking is food! I've never bothered bringing my own food, but I think a kitchen would make this bar near perfect.
Note -- the bathrooms are in the front of the bar; not behind the fake wall in the back. Save yourself the embarrassment when I, or anyone else, am playing darts. I know you don't know where they are. -

This place was pretty spacious for the most part.
It had some pinball machine which was cool. I think I heard someone say it was a dollar to play though. Boo. -

Whenever I come to Williamsburg I always have an amusing time. Like most places in this hood, the atmosphere is really laid back and they have a pretty good beer selection. Drinks weren't that expensive and there was an interesting crew of people there - like the magician who put a card in my purse and made a voodoo doll rise on his palm. Only a few blocks from the Bedford Station, so not too off the beaten path for Manhattanites.

Review from Matt S.
I have passed this bar quite a few times while walking down to the waterfront and always said, "I wanna give this place a shot at night." The problem was, it is not the place to go on a Friday or Saturday night, so it was often overlooked. Finally, my girlfriend and I made our way over to Zablozki's on a Sunday night after a late dinner with wine.
Zablozki's isn't a crisp clean place. Things are pretty old, written on, and messed up. There are two pinball machines, one being The Sopranos and also a pool table. The place is filled with tables and chairs that invite people to hang out with their friends and talk, rather than stand around scoping the next piece of meat walking through the door. This is the reason why I like this place so much. The lights are dimmed, so it isn't a scream till your vocal cords burst, but it lets you talk with your friends and have a good time while getting drunk.
The bar seemed to have an extensive wine list and quite a few beers on tap. My girlfriend and I had about four glasses of wine each ($5 a glass), so on the 4th cup, the bartender gave us each a glass for free. A very nice gesture.
I will definitely be back with friends or just to hang with my girlfriend where we can relax and have a few drinks on a random night. This is the place I have been looking for in Brooklyn and I'm glad to find it. -

One of my favorite bars in Williamsburg. They have a pool table, two pinball machines, tons of seating (from booths, to couches, to barstools), lots of space, and the best part: cheap drinks & tons of drink specials!
This is one of the few bars that offers a casual atmosphere but still has fun drinks like Lychee and Mango martinis as well as cold and hot sake.
They have $4 bloody mary's and $3 mimosas on the weekends so it's a perfect spot if you are looking to get a little more sauced up after brunch.
The bartenders have always been super friendly when I've come here as well :)
Important Note: This bar is cash only - they do have an ATM, but it's best to bring some cash and avoid the ATM fees. -

Zablozki's makes me think of miners and gamblers drowning their sorrows in thick, amber-colored whiskey.
My boyfriend and I went to this spacious Williamsburg saloon last week.
I don't know why, but it felt like being in the Old West.
And then I could almost hear Jim Morrison whisper "Yes, the River Knows". What a fuzzy recollection ... -

Affectionately known as Zambuki's (I can never pronounce it), this place is one of my favorite BK spots. Not pretentious like most other bars in that area. It is dog friendly and the bartender is kinda hot, which is rare in Williamsburg where most bartender are hipster dudes who need to wear hairnets on their beards.
Nice little secluded area for darts and pinballs. However, if you want to play pool, you will have to have a vast knowledge of Post War Russian Politics to pass the guardian of the table. (Seriously). -

so I got to Occupied Williamsburg way ahead of time before the Mashup Bootie party over at Public Assembly, and thus I began bar-hopping (also partly motivated by a need to use the bathroom).
nice atmosphere, decent music, some pinball machines - hey, this place has potential!
but....$9 for a Radeberger? thanks for telling me that AFTER I ordered it.
the clientele? well, I was reminded of something I saw on the internets:
"Dear Liberal Arts Majors,
I'd like a Venti latte with no foam.

Pinball Alert!!!
Zablozki's has two fun pins:
FUNHOUSE (See: http://www.ipdb.org/ma... )
JACKBOT (See: http://www.ipdb.org/ma... ) The official name is: "Jack*Bot"
I used to think Funhouse was one of my favorites. It's too hard and it's a low scoring game for me. Jackbot is awesome. I love the gambling theme to this pin. Great to see these two at this bar. It seems that Brooklyn has more pinball action than Manhattan...

This is probably the bar I've been to the most since moving to Brooklyn, I'm not sure why. But it says somethin, right?
I love playing pool here. They upped the price of pool from $1 to $2. I think thats a little steep, Zab's.
They've got cheap bear shot specials and $2 PBR all the time. The drink specials are always written nicely on the mirror behind the bar.
You can still hear yourself think so its a good spot to sit in a corner with a group of friends having a drink and catching up.
To my dismay, they've started showing Yankees games on a big screen projector. This means I can't play pool (I'd be blocking the game) and that all the dudes I'm with will zone out and only answer questions related to the game. I guess I'm gonna have to start appreciating baseball. *Rolls eyes* -

Great standard Brooklyn bar/ cool hangout. Its located obcenely close to the Bedford L stop...do I detect a dependency in the making? Oh wait, that would be Oasis..
Last night I came here for one beer, and ended up having three (huge, might i add, and only $4 apiece) while becoming a minor pool shark.
I do love me some pool. That might be another list altogether.
Anyhow, this place was too good of a time to not be a solid 4 stars. The place is very spacious, but tries very hard to be intimate with low lighting and many small wooden tables and chairs (and oddly, some stools that were covered in faux leopard print) that can be shuffled around to accomodate any number of people.
So it was largely intimate..a strange sensation that is remarkably easy to get over once you get yourself a huge beer and chalk your name up on the pool list. Oh yes, for you dart lovers there is also a dart board.Listed in: The Deal in Bedford...and…

I just want to say I love you Zablozki's!
We stumbled upon you on our first night in Brooklyn, looking for a good bar to hang out at for the rest of the night, after walking in and out of many bad ones. And we found it, oh how we found it...
I dont remember a whole lot from the night, but I do remember drinking a lot of cheap well drinks and beers and having a great time! I also remember nice bartenders, good music, a pool table, and it never being too crowded or any annoying people.
Can't wait to return to you some day Zablozki's... -

Dark & Stormy...$8...Ordered this last night and it was quite good. That's the nice thing about Zablowskis--you can get a nice cocktail if you're in the mood or you can just get a cheap pint of beer. We stopped by here with some friends after a concert at the music hall down the street, and for a Saturday night it was a pretty relaxed atmosphere. No annoying four-on-the-floor house music blasting amid polished stone and waterfalls (like some other bar on 6th st that really took me by surprise!)
They have a pool table here if that's your thing. It's a big space so crowding wasn't really a problem. My only issue with the place is they need to ventilate better, because on a hot but not stifling May night, stepping into Zablowskis was like sticking yourself in an oven, a la Sylvia Plath. -

Zabloski's classes up 6th St.
It's dark yet inviting, like a dive bar without the grime. There's a sturdy beer selection that's not too pricey (I opted for the $3 Yuenglings), a little punk music on the speakers, a pool table and dartboard, some games, a few lounge tables, and a big ole bar. Pretty much anything a lush could need on a Wednesday night. Great space. -

Brooklyn, NY
This is what passes for my local bar, though it is about 20 minutes away from me. Zablowski's is great because it is as chill as a dive, but not as grimy. There is this coolness that permeates the atmosphere, without hitting you over the head, and not trying too hard.
Personally, I am a fan of the regular specials, especially the 3 dollar pints of McSorley's, or the 4 dollar well drinks. The beer selection is good and fairly priced, and they even have the champagne of beers, a personal favorite.
The decor is inviting, and a fantastic spot for a get-together with a good sized group, since you can settle in as though you are you own the place.
For those of you who enjoy billiards, there is a table, but beware: there are sharks in these waters! The house rule is that if you lose by seven balls, you buy your opponent a drink. I was defeated, but thankfully not by that margin. -

I absolutely LOVE this place. Yuenglings are $3, bartenders are super nice, the music is great and they have a pinball machine!
This is a great chill place that i've never seen uber crowded. Normally I've been here after a show at the old North Six or lunch/dinner at Sea across the street. There's been a few times when I've seen a couple of dogs around the place as well which is nice.
Very laid back atmosphere the front is open air so there is great people watching if you can post up at one of the tables. On a rainy day, this is great and time will just fly as you come to notice that it's almost 10PM and you've been there since 3PM.Listed in: The Places I Go Out

PINBALL UPDATE
now it's Indiana Jones and THE SOPRANOS,
good brews. excellent house coffee/irish coffe concoction. love the sporanos machines, it swears at you, and that is very special from a pinball machine.
Manitobas had a sopranos machine until it started having prob lems recently, then dissapered completley manhattan - apparently does not use the same pinball repair service as many b-burg bars do (enids, the mug house, zablowski) his name is pinball junkie or something like that, his cards are in the machines call him, please, or else I'll have to do my drinking in brooklyn where the machines are clean and tight. The manhattan bars are swapping out pinball for stuff thats lamer and takes up less space - big butt hunter and those sad gambling machines, games for people with fat asses and no soul.

Los Angeles, CA
A group of us stumbled across this bar on our first night in NYC after having one drink at a mistake I like to call Spike Hill. The sign outside claimed a happy hour on beer and well drinks, but since the time was just past 7pm, we thought it was over since most of the bars in the area seemed to use 7pm as their cut off point. Since I was in NYC on a budget but needed to get my drink on, I mustered the courage to walk up to the bar and ask the bartender if happy hour was still going on. Instead of giving me a dirty look and ripping my head off for being such a cheap bastard, she gave me a warm and inviting smile along with a yes! We were sold.
The bar was very dark and dimly lit despite the fact the whole front of the place was still wide open and it was still a bit light out. I didn't mind this at all since it gave the place a pretty cool vibe. The music being played in the bar was fantastic and only added to our very enjoyable experience.
But the icing on the cake? $3 well drinks!! I thought it was kinda funny that they used Evan Williams as their whiskey well, I wasn't really sure of the popularity of it since it always seems to be cheaper at the store than even Jim Beam and thought that only po' East LA folk like myself enjoyed that stuff. I guess I was wrong.
Slowly the crowd began getting bigger by the hour, but the place is super spacious that it was not overwhelmingly packed. Not to mention, there must be a "no pretentious douche bag hipsters allowed" sign at the front because the whole night remained a hip yet cool and laid back crowd. When at a bar, there's usually at least one person that I would LOVE to punch in the face. But not here. For a second there, I totally forgot I was in Williamsburg.
Anywho, before we knew it, 7pm had turned into 2am and since we're not used to partying until the crack of dawn like you NYC professionals, we headed back to our place. Unfortunately we did not return before the end of our trip, but it did remain my favorite bar in NYC.
See you in December, Zablozki's! -

Dark inside, and more wood than ... well, insert joke here. All I gots to say is $3 Yeungling, and $2 Pabst. It's a nice switcher-oo from Anytime's $1 PBR's. Most importantly, is they have $2 Yeungling's during Happy Hour!!!
Added bonus is pool & darts, as well as waaaay more seating than Anytime.

I was nervous, at first, to be honest because I don't want too many people to overrun this little gem of a bar...But it's almost too good to be true.
I bought two drinks for $6. Let me repeat that: two drinks, six dollars. That is unheard of.
It's also spacious, warmly lit, nice and open, lots of beer. It's basically my new favorite place. -

i love it here! okay, so i've only managed to drag my butt here once since i no longer live in the neighborhood, but trust me - anytime I have a show to attend at MHow I will 100% be there. Let me just summarize what has been said a lot in the other reviews and what i LOVE about this place:
- CHEAP beer. $3 yuenglings?! thats even cheaper than upstate!
- lots of space! so you dont have to grope/step on people to get from point A to point B.
- DARTS!! in a lovely secluded corner with table and chairs handy.
- pool.. whatever, it's there.
- overall ambiance/feel... love all the wood!
- chill crowd, everyone is there to have a good time and get their drink on.. none of this go here to be seen business... psh. hopefully it well stay this way...
i must note, the music wasn't very memorable. and i got to drunk too fast to take note of whether or not they had a jukebox... but if they don't they should!
feel like its worthy to note that i came here on a weekday and the feel might be way diff on say, a friday night.. but i still say give it a try. there's nothing OMGZyoumustgothereNOW about it.. but if you're anywhere in the area and don't want to deal with 5+ pints and pretense, come on in! -

It's no Buttermilk, but as far as Williamsburg goes - this bar has managed to avoid the pretentiousness and inflated drink prices. You can't really beat $3 Yeunglings. The music could use a little bit of work (alt country cross over into middle aged new metal) but the place has a kind of home-y charm. Darkly lit, wood panels, tea lights - not to mention it's pretty spacious, which is good for avoiding the typical clusterfuck whilst ordering drinks.
Looked like they had some classy bevs - including mango marg's and something with lychee? Doesn't really fit with the general atmosphere, but whatever blows your skirt up.
Pool and darts for people who can maintain basic motor skills when inebriated.
Not typically down with the 'Burg, but this place kind of rules. -

1 STAR-CHEAP AND DELICIOUS COSMOPOLITANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 STAR-cool couch to lounge on with my uber hip Brooklyn friend
1 STAR-amazing playlist...songs I haven't heard in years 70's, 80's, 90's...a lifetime of memories
1 STAR- walking distance from the Bedford "L" train stop (oops...that's 6 stars....okay, so it's a 6 star review)
minus 1 star...CASH ONLY (Ha! I'm back at 5 stars!)
I must admit, I didn't come all the way from the West coast to spend my Friday night in Brooklyn. I know, I know....anyone who is young, too cool for school, uber-hip, iPod wearing, iPhone toting, Mac book using kinda cool lives in Brooklyn. However, my one and only true love is Manhattan. Even so, I LOVED ZABLOWSKIS!!!!!
What's not to love? Cool vibe, understated dark ambiance, cheap and fab-o-licious drinks, pool table, and a couch to kick it on. And ladies, there were some sexy hot guys playing pool, so the view was also nice...but I was there to hang out with my best guy friend and an acquaintance of ours...both sexy hot guys in their own right...so I abstained. Next time I'm in NYC, I'll definitely come back to Zablowskis.

This is an all-purpose bar.
I've come here to get all sorts of wasted with a gang of friends,
and
I've dipped in here to have a few beers by myself,
There's music, games, and good group seating. In fact there is a good amount of SPACE which is rare these days.
Makes for either good conversation on quiet(er) nights or some good ole raucous boozing.
Most recently I was here last night pre-gaming a show at Music Hall of WBurg with a couple of friends. Quiet beer sipping turned into beer guzzling, flirting and convincing a group of girls to come chill with us for the night(yea it took a lot of convincing).
Also, $2 PBRs and if I'm feelin fancy $3 yuenglings.
Yay! I'm a fan. -
