I've been coming to Souplantations across Southern California since I was 7 or 8 years old. It's a family staple that I've passed on to my spouse and my kids. My 9yo and 6yo have been coming to this location since they were babies.
Thanks for all the great experiences over the years. Shout out to all the staff, especially those who bus tables and have always greeted us with a smile and recognized us as frequent flyers. This was a neighborhood place and it will be missed.
To those who made this a special place for my family., best to you and your families. Stay healthy and safe out there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 9, 2017
This location is very clean and organized and has an abundant number of offerings.
Once you enter, grab a tray and plate then walk down the salad bar line where you will find a number of green salad options and countless toppings and dressings. At the end of the line you'll hit the register where you pay. Yelp often has a check-in deal and there are discount coupons to be found online.
Once you pay, find a seat then visit the soup, bakery and pasta areas. There are six or so soups to choose from. The bakery has muffins, biscuits and brownies. The pasta area has a few choices plus some focaccia. You'll also find a dessert area with soft serve ice cream, tapioca pudding and fruit. I have a soft spot for the rarely seen tapioca pudding and overindulged.
The salad bar was fresh and well maintained as was the entire restaurant, actually. I thought everything was good but not exceptional. The chicken pot pie soup, cheese focaccia, four cheese alfredo, blueberry muffin...everything I tried was satisfactory.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. The gentleman who was bussing tables was really on the ball and kept the place clean.
As this is a buffet style place I sadly saw many people pile far too much food high upon their plates only to leave much of it uneaten by the time they left. Such a waste.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 1 - Oct 26, 2017
I'm fairly new to Souplantation, but after years of being a regular at Fresh Choice up in the SF bay area (but they went belly up), I'm so glad to have discovered the Souplantation here in OC. I'd been a regular at the Irvine restaurant off Jamboree, but since I'm planning to move to Lake Forest, I thought I'd check out this huge shopping mall more....this being my first time here....and there was plenty of parking. Granted, I had to have an early lunch and showed up with my friend at 11.30am'ish.....where there were only 3 or 4 people eating here at the time. It's so nice to not be at the end of the line of a packed restaurant.....salad bar lines all free....we could seat ourselves anywhere we pleased.....and got to enjoy our lunch in peace and quiet, and before the crowd started coming in after 12noon.
The concept is pretty much the same everywhere.....grab your tray and plate....and stuff as much salad and toppings as you can on your plate....I know it's all you can eat and you can go back for more anytime, but I wanted all my favorite salad items on the one plate. And speaking of plates....the plastic plates here are not the same as the ones at the other Souplantation.....they're smaller here, I'm pretty sure! Other than that, you know the drill.....fill you plates with salad, till you get to the cash register and order your drinks or get a water cup, and go find a table. Its probably advisable to bring a Souplantation coupon or show it on your phone to get the discount....it makes the deal even better than it already is. Imagine....all that food for only $8.99?!
I like to try a bit of everything...stomach size permitting.....and besides the salad bar, I have to try their soups, pasta bar, and my usual dessert. By my usual dessert I mean my usual hot and freshly baked blueberry muffin and cornbread topped with tapioca custard!.....yummy!
Glad this place will be just a short distance from my new home.....should I eventually move to this area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 24, 2016
Absolutely 'funtasitc' place. If you love greens and salads - you will go nuts. You would think that this place will not be popular with kids used to traditional fast food - think again! We saw several kids plus families having a good time.
This is a huge "all you can eat" place with several stations for salads, breads, soups, pizza-breads, ice creams, cookies - all nine yards (and then some). We enjoyed the salad bowl mostly but their rice+tomato soup was also great. Never felt so "wholesome" after eating salads and imbibing soup.
The quality and freshness of ingredients just made our day!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 3, 2018Updated review
Poor quality when compared to other "Salad Bars" available nearby such as Claim Jumper & Sizzler.
For about the same price you can get higher quality ingredients .
Also the dressings are like water.
Sorry I've got nothing positive to sayHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Souplantation is as good as it gets! This place always has the freshest ingredients and they're always vamping their menu with seasonal items. Yermmmm! I also noticed that some other Souplantation's soups are a bit too salty but everything here is perfectly well balanced!
One thing I am never too fond of in this location is the attitude of some of the staff. I've never really had a bright experience with them. This one time I asked a baker when the pizza will be available and she looked at me with annoyance, kind of grunted, walked to her colleague to what seemed to be obvious complaints in Spanish.
That certainly didn't keep me from coming back for more though! Heh hehHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Frank N.Yorba Linda, CA222113Jun 6, 2018
My friends and I come to this location after the gym at least once a week because the food is always fresh. The staff are friendly, courteous and the restaurant is always kept clean. One staff member in particular (Daniel) will always welcome us with a smile and even provides suggestions on combinations to try.
Highly recommended and they get a 5/5 in my book.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 5, 2018
We come here about once a month. The staff is always very nice and the food is very good. I mostly get fresh veggies, but the broccoli salad that they make is so good, I have to have some of that. My husband just loves the clam chowder so that's a must.
They do need to refresh the restrooms and the wood doors in the kitchen and restrooms. They make the place look sad. It's definitely time for a little TLC.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 25, 2018
Hadn't been here in quite awhile, but we have always liked this Location. Always fresh salad bar choices and they have descriptions of their made salads, Spinach salad or Quinoa for example. You know what's in it! Same with their soups, it says which are vegan or vegetarian, nice to know. Everything was great and service was good, someone always coming by to pick up our used dishes. My husband especially likes their chili! I have to work on getting my pics before I dig in! My salad was so pretty, sorry I couldn't show you! Ha ha!

So my husband suddenly had a bleeding inside his mouth while eating a soup and come to find out his spoon had a sharp edge and nicked his side of his cheek! I called the manager and she came over and got the spoon . Didn't offer first aid kit but just a sorry and took our receipt and told us she will comp our meal . Left again while my husband is still bleeding . I gave him some ice to stop this bleeding and luckily it did .manager came back and gave us 2 comp Buffett ticket ??? By the way there is four of us - why 2?
She asked our phone number so she can call to check on us and she never gave me a call at all ! I didn't catch her name but we went there at night.
Word of advice, we are not there to get comp for anything . Pls train your managers and definitely do a QC in your utensils and plates ! We don't come to restaurants to get hurt ... it's just wrong !Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
