Was ZGallerie always this affordable or have I just gotten older?

This place is like a hit to an addict...I love it! Most of our house looks like a combo of Pottery Barn, Zgallerie, Crate and Barrel...I am an avowed catalogue junkie. ZGal caters to the colors I love, those dark rich greens and reds...and the pale blues to relax me as well. Bonus that they set up the areas of the store in color coordinated bliss, so that if you wanted to totally redecorate, you just point and purchase all together. Insta-change.

The staff is super friendly as well, I had one sweet employee scouring through their piles of artwork for a 'abstract blue and brown print that is about 50x40'...unforunately nothing was found, but I won't give up the search.

Love the big flufftastic 'crying out for you to take a nap' couches and the beautiful mahogany wood tables hutch sets...I could easily  pass hours away in here.

Fun comment from the hub on my purchases... 'More pillows? So this means you'll be cleaning out old ones right?'. Silly rabbit! Tricks are for kids!

There's a reason this store closed.  A family owned chain of stores, this started out to be a wonderful place with great management and a welcoming environment.  Every time I walked in the manager and assistant manager welcomed me as though I was someone incredibly special to them.  I loved to pop in and see what was new and I brought every one of my out-of-town friends in to experience it with me and to sit in "The Mammoth"... a couch that was so comfortable I kept looking for a cabana boy to bring me a drink.

Then the family got greedy and restructured management's pay package so that they couldn't even meet modest expenses and they moved on.  Each new batch of managers was more disappointing and disconnected than the last, really classy artificial flowers were replaced by tacky varieties that could have been purchased at a dollar store and no one seemed happy to work there.

One really astounding decision the corporate team made was to lay-off a sales person who was #8 in sales in a chain of 80 stores on the eve of his third anniversary, rather than to pay him the better benefits he would have received if they'd kept him.

Clearly this is a family who has let selfish greed consume them.

Too bad.  It used to be a 5 star business!

So we walk in one fabulous Saturday afternoon after the Menlo park festival and I see the chair of my dreams.......its part of their Palisades collection. I sit down and am immediately thinking i can get rid of three things so this can fit in my house.......I look at the price tag.....WHAT!!!!!! 900.00 for a CHAIR!

Dammit if only i were independently wealthy......I look over at the sofa counterpart and see it in front of a flat screen TV and the ottoman too of course.......I look at the price tag.......OMG the price of all of this can put me on an Alaskan cruise for 10 days.......I love Alaska and cruises have great food.

The sofa is all white and would probably stay that way for all of 20 hrs.....and i would not be able to get my dream dog, or have anyone sit on them for that matter, and no eating or drinking on them, and no one with a cold around them......I thought this all through and decided when i am rich as hell and have my all white room i will get these.

the sofas get  4.5 stars however.....

I asked the overly spunky sales  rep for a printout with information so i can put it on my fridge and dream; she got even more excited and tried to convince me it was a great deal.........I told her she has got to be joking and that they are way to overpriced....I offered her 300.00 for the chair....she ignored my offer. She would have had more luck convincing me to buy some Jimmy Hendrix tickets. For the fact that Z Gallerie thinks there stuff is not overpriced I give them a 3

I still want that chair though......I wonder if there is an outlet.

The floor decorations are a little too much for me however, they have some very affordable single piece decoration.
We just went past weekend and got some faux-plants, flowers for our guest room.  All their stuff are modern style and for some of their stuffs their price are very reasonable.
Overall, I like this store.

They have cute and funky pillows and furniture as well as a variety of classic looking stuff.

They always have things on sale for really cheap, you just have to find out which things.

Only 4 stars for originality, since there is a Z Gallerie is almost every nice city.

Zee Gallerie - tres magnifique!! yah yah - I'm not french, but somehow I always imagine some french guy saying "zeee gallerie". ANYHOW.

I loved this place the moment I sat on the MAMMOTH sofa. I loved it so much, I would tell all my friends about the sofa and get them to come in and sit on it too. I got my husband to sit on the sofa and guess what? I sold my neon and got a sofa. OLD Neon = New Comfy Sofa = Happy Camper.  I got my sofa during the no tax sale and the delivery charge was something like $50-$70.  The sales people here are extremely helpful. I came in here looking for coasters and the guy went upstairs and downstairs to grab all the coasters in the specs that I wanted.  I wanted these wonderful looking leopard floor cushions, but they ran out - but the guy still went back into the stockroom looking to see if they MIGHT have any they might have missed and he even checked to see if other zgalleries had any.  THIS is SERVICE PEOPLE!!!  Z Gallerie totally rocks. You can always find me here after I've had dinner or lunch on University Ave. - I'm always checking out the new stuff. Next on my list? A Chaise Lounge!! Now all I have to figure out is what I can sell to get it...

I am a big fan of furniture and home decor stores. I love the z gallerie, because I always walk out with something.  Their picture frames are very cool looking and are actually pretty inexpensive.

Ok there seems to be one of these in every "fancy city" downtown. Is it just me or does the stuff just seem un-interesting?

I recently walked into this one and found an end table perfect for my new place.  It was on sale and such a good deal so I had to get it.  Of course, I came with the wrong car so I had to go back to pick it up the next day.  Since they couldn't put it on hold as it was close to closing, the salesperson had to charge me.  That ordeal took about 15 minutes to ring up which was ridiculous.  I had to push out my dinner reservations because of it.  Must have been a new hire.  But I like their furniture and homeware selection so I'll be back again.

I think just about everything in here is fab-u-lous and I can afford it too. Prices are comparable to Pier 1, but the styles are less wickery.

Yeah, it's just one store in a pretty big chain, but the owner and buyers have taste that seems unusual but still pleases most everyone.   This is sort of like an upscale Pier One without Kirsty Alley -- oh, wait, she's pitching a weight loss treatment lately, never mind!

It's an enjoyable store and if you sit in the chairs on display, no one yells at you.  Worth a visit.
