If there was a Truth in Advertising Award, I would gladly present it to Yummy. Everything I had here was, indeed, yummy. Better than yummy. Delicious. Fabulous. The atmosphere is upscale but still comfortable, with cozy couches and chairs nestled around a central fireplace. If you decide to take the plush route, they even bring you a vintage TV tray to enjoy your goodies upon! Makes a memorable happy hour with friends.

My favorite Yummy dish (I visited 3 times on a recent Seaside trip) was the Smoked Salmon BLT. No heavy, artificial-tasting salmon, but light, very faintly smoked salmon that was so fresh it was almost like sashimi. With aioli and the perfectly-crisp red potatoes, this is a dish I'd drive back from Portland for. Right on the sandwich's heels is the Goat Cheese Panna Cotta with Caramel and Fleur de Sel. The saltiness, the faint pungency of the goat cheese and the thick, milky caramel was an absolutely ambrosial combination.

Also winners? The lime Caesar salad was a creative, delicious dish. Also enjoyed the prawn quesadilla. Happy hour prices are excellent and there are a slew of choices, so try and squeeze in for that.

A word of caution: this place can get very busy. We were turned away on one occasion due to the place's capacity. If you're only at Seaside for a short time and want a great dining experience, make reservations.

We had a wonderful dinner here our last night in Seaside.  You can't really go 1/2  a block without running into a shop that has fry in their menu.

We walked in and the space is really cool, lots of prints, hanging light fixtures, a nice fireplace to warm you up during those dreary rainy months.

We sat by the window at a table, but you could also sit on the couches and have your food/adult beverage rest on a TV tray table.  We each had a glass of the red house wine.  I'm no wine expert, I won't even pretend.  But it was flavorful and I liked it.

We started with the chilled dolmas.  The presentation was beautiful.  There were 5 of them and they were on top of a garlic infused olive oil, and another sauce that was cream based.  Had hints of basil, I think.  Either way, it was delicious.  Andy got the veggie burger with home style potatoes and I got the salmon lox BLT with the house salad.  The burger was tasty and I don't remember very much about Andy's except he said it was good and the house potatoes were also good.  My salmon BLT.  Amazing.  I wouldn't think to pair salmon and bacon together but it worked.  It worked well.  The salmon lox were tasty and rich and the bacon added a nice texture comparison.  Poor Andy had to listen to me talk about this meal for a longtime after.  Don't skip the salad.  I hardly ever clean my plate and this was one left spotless (basically).

Yummy has been in Seaside for about 5 years.  It's on the main drag but away from the artery clogging, sugar high laden shops and more towards Highway 101.  A lovely spot we will definitely be back to  when we're in town again.

Great atmosphere!  We came here for dessert after dinner.  It was very nice and chill and the staff was very friendly.   We sat in some big comfy chairs next to the fireplace and shared lemon tartlet and some port wine.  The port came in a very slender glass so it wasn't really able to breathe, but the dessert was good.
We would definitely go again next time we are in town.

I love this restaurant and wine bar.  Cory (a former CG Rescue Swimmer) has transformed this old firehouse garage into a wonderful place to relax and check out the work of local artists.  The food and happy hour can't be beat.  Our favorite place to visit when traveling to Seaside.

Knowledgeable staff. Great atmosphere. AMAZING LOOKING FOOD. We came in just to check the place out after hearing good things. Their website needs to be re-done, it doesn't do this place justice!

I only wish we'd had dinner there, and not just the wine flight. Next time for sure!

    I love, love, love Yummy!
I wish Yummy was located in Seattle and it would be my place! I don't have a regular hang out in Seattle, but would love one with this ambiance. It just had the overall perfect feel when we walked in to enjoy some wine and dinner while on a weekend getaway to Seaside.
I would have given 5 stars, but our waitress seemed so unfriendly. When I told her how much I loved the place, she could not even crack a smile or take the compliment.
We sat by the fire and were served on TV stands. It was perfect!
    I enjoyed my gnocchi...yummy! ;)
However, the HH red was not the best, but for $3.75/glass you cannot really complain.
Next time I make it down to Seaside, Yummy will be on my list of places to stop by again!

I had read the reviews posted here, but we decided to try it as we always seem to form our own opinion about food, especially wine(well, doesn't everyone?).  The waitress was extremely friendly, took excellent care of our needs, made wonderful suggestions.
The food was excellent, from beginning to end.  I tried brussel sprouts which I haven't touched since I was MUCH younger, when my mom made a horrible attempt at cooking them! and they were quite good.
What really surprised me was.....paper napkins! And, every inexpensive silverware.  Everything else fit: decor, tables, food, wine, fireplace, lighting......but to not have these amenities was a surprise.
    Would we go back?  Definitely.

A fabulous birthday dinner in Seaside. Love the decor, the varied seating arrangements (couches, loveseats, tables, a bar) and the overall ambiance. A nice big fireplace in the room to warm you on those cold winter nights.

Our server was attentive, cheery and friendly. The rest of the staff, including the owner, were also on it - I dropped my napkin and SWOOSH, "Would you like a new one?"

Oh, and the food...yeah, we had food too! Beet salad with a variation of a soft cheese that I've never had before, minestrone with fresh veggies and a handmade veggie burger. All excellent. Top it off with whipped cream piled high on a zesty lemon tart and I all this dinner splendiferous.

Next time I'm in Seaside, I'm definitely going back!

What a cute, friendly and cozy place in Seaside. Very convenient location on the main street.

Wine - I had the Oregon Jovino Pinot Noir and it was delicious. A cup of Minestrone was very generous and comforting. I also had the Chicken Scallopine - stuffed with sage and fontina cheese. Yum. Topped it all off with a great tangy lemon tart for dessert, and I summed it up to a great meal and a great cozy evening out.

The Beet Salad and Steak looked delicious too.

Was very tempted to sit by the fireplace and eat off of the TV trays! I will do that next time! :)

Again, a very friendly, unpretentious place in Seaside. You can't go wrong!

We went to Yummy somewhat while on vacation in Seaside.  Wine bar for some after dinner drinks sounds great, right?

We entered the door - ADORABLE place!  nicely decorated, the fireplaces were a nice touch.  So why only two stars?

Because getting service here was a complete chore.  The person who took our wine order was intent on letting us know that they closed "soon", so have our wine quickly.  What?

If you want to feel unwelcome, this is the place to go.

Went here over the weekend, and pretty much loved it. It's a trendy wine bar, nicely decorated with a modern feel, which is really nice considering Seaside could step it up a notch...Their happy hour (from 3-6) was GREAT! Didn't have much time for wine, but we did get the prawn quesadilla, and a 12 inch pepperoni pizza, both were very good, especially for the price! Our total bill was something around $11, and it was all freshly made and tasted fantastic. I would give it 5 stars, but it's located on the other side of the river, which was not far at all, but would be better if it was closer to the ocean. As a matter of fact, Seaside needs to get their head on straight, that entire promenade needs to be LINED with restaurants with patios. Overall, it was the most enjoyable restaurant we went to, with a great atmosphere, great food, and I'm sure great drinks!

We went here as it seemed to be a classy place to have a bite to eat. The ambiance was laid back with local artwork and a trendy décor. It had a very Seattle or Portland feel to it. I was not thinking seaside at all.

Until ... my husband accidentally dropped a rather large portion of cheese from our very small meat and cheese sampler on the floor. The server, a not so friendly yet not rude woman proceeded to tell us that we could pick up the cheese and eat it since they just mopped the floor last night.

Now I can pause a moment while you re-read the last line.... Yes she did tell us to eat food off the floor of a public place and  she did not offer to replace the cheese from our overpriced meat and cheese plate. While it was our fault it would have been a typical gesture from a seemingly upscale establishment.

So I think if I were you I would skip the place all together due to the simple fact that if she wants you to pick it up off the floor for your oral pleasure there in the main dining area she is more than likely doing it for you in the back anyway and who wants all the other goodies from the bottom of another person's shoes mingling with their sharp and tangy blue cheese?

On a crowded with soccer teams president's day weekend in Seaside, this was the little haven that reminded us we were grown ups celebrating valentine's day in a cute beach town.

We made reservations here for the prie fixe menu the week before and they were almost already booked. They only had coach seating left. Since my bf prefers the casual, we agreed to take the spot.

We made it a few minutes late into the already filled restaurant, whcih was nothing like what we expected. The font and signage on the front made me think it's be a bright cookiecutter like place, but it was cute and very Portland like with chalkboard menus and fancy but casual flair.

We were seated at a couch next to the fireplace with vintage tv trays as our tables. We were the only ones not dressed up for the occassion, but somehow we all fit in anyways. The owner was at the wine bar with a big smile and he kept looking at us all night with an "aww so cute" look. I think we were the only ones comfortable and laughing and poking fun at each other. Everyone else was treating it like a serious dinner. The couch seating and wine probably helped us on that front.

All the waitresses seemed pretty angry in general. They barely smiled. That part made it less comfortable. There wasn't much service except when they brought out each course in mass. Our waters were never really refilled and we weren't offered wine unless we specifically asked.

I'm not sure of all the wines we got but we started off with a white for all the seafood courses and then went to a bourdeax and malbec with the duck. The malbec was amazing. It was a horrible fitting for dessert because the overly sweet chocolate ruined the complex taste of the wine and made it taste like any table red.

We started with a seafood trio. There was a shrimp salad, smoked salmon, and oyster topped with a tomato salsa. All were excellent and refreshing.

Then came the bread with a lox whipped butter. The whipped butter was great. It's perfect for a brunch idea.

Then came the lobster and crayfish bisque that was topped with crayfish chunks and a creme fraiche heart. It was creamy and hearty.

Next was the crab cake. It had a crispy light crust and moist interior densely packed with pure crabmeat. It was one fo the best and most "real" crab cakes we've both had. It was also topped with a lightly pickled fennel salad.

Then came the berry sorbet taht was more of a champagne float with a touch of berry sorbet. Since we both aren't huge champagne lovers. it wasn't our favorite, but it was a nice palate cleanser. We watched the poor chap at the tableclothed table next to us trying to impress the girl all night only to spill this champagne float all over his nice white dress shirt. We determined he still had a chance though based on her interested body signs.

The main entree was a roasted duck loin with sweet potato puree and asparagus. The puree was perfectly smooth and creamy. The duck was average and tad over cooked. It was in a cherry star anise sauce and the flavor was still nice. Perfect with the malbec.

Last came dessert which was a mexican chocolate fondue with tuiles, bananas, and strawberries. This was an average end to what started off as a fabulous meal. Maybe they should've stuck with seafood for the entree. The fondue was a cute idea, but maybe little tealights would've made it more romantic.

Overall it was perfectly what we dreamed of and definitely a find amongst the random restaurants at Seaside if a touch of fancy is what you're seeking.

I have been to Yummy's several times over the past few years. I have never been disappointed. The food is always wonderful, the service friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is funky, comfortable and fun!
When friends or strangers ask me for recommendations for great dining experiences on the North Coast, Yummy's is always on my short list.

I have lived, worked and dined in New York City, Paris, Los Angeles , Seattle and other "cosmopolitan areas". Yummy's would be successful in any of these locations.

Thank goodness a restaurant where you can have great food, interesting art and no TV blaring!!!

Pretty much the best place in seaside.  Good food, good wine, good service.

I'm in the computer system so maybe that's why i rate this place so highly...whenever my bill comes it says my name on it, it makes me feel fabulous and fancy okay!

The prices are a little spendy, especially for seaside, but it's worth it.  My friends and I always split meals, or cheese plates, and a few house bottles and our bill is usually $15-$20 each for 2 or 3 people including tip.
The wine flights are a good choice.  And during the winter they have monday snappy hours...happy hour prices all day monday.

Corey is the owner and he always makes an effort to come out on the floor and visit with everyone.

This is a swank relaxing place.  A nice escape from the shitty tourist atmosphere of downtown.

i would give this place six stars if i could. it might have been the culinary highlight of our PNW trip.

we were worried that we'd have a hard time finding a good place open on a Monday night on the Oregon coast in mid-March. i was afraid we'd get stuck at some greasy fried fish joint (and we nearly did). but i found Yummy on teh Google, and boy, am i glad we tried it.

great atmosphere! very comfy, with chairs and loveseats and a fireplace, though we opted for a table (since i can be a clumsy eater). the lights were a little too bright (it should've been a little dimmer for some place going for a romantic wine bear atmosphere) but that's such a minor quibble i hesitate even mentioning it.

we had the red wine flight first, which the waitress was really helpful in explaining (we're wine n00bs). i had a flavorful raspberry tea as well.

we both had salads, i had the seasonal salad and boyfriend had the beet salad. they were EXCELLENT. all the ingredients were combined in an original and highly interesting way. i then had the tomato soup and grilled cheese - so simple, comfort food really, but so tasty and perfect for a damp chilly night. boyfriend had an excellent lobster bisque.

our waitress was attentive and really sweet and helpful, making recommendations and seemed to really love what she was doing. makes all the difference.

Perhaps in a larger city, Yummy wouldn't shine so brightly. But for two Seattlites who might have accidentally booked a special weekend away in the wrong town, and found stuck themselves in Seaside  instead of Canon Beach (entirely hypothetical, of course), it is a supernova. A brilliant, sparkling beacon of awesome food and culture.

First off, the owner is a doll. You'll want him served to you with a side of pita. He's friendly, uber-helpful, and so damn excited about what he does. He also has super suggestions for what to get.

The decor is great - a quirky mix of kitch and modern, with works from regional artists on the walls.

The food is stellar - from salmon gnocchi to veal stew, I can't recall a single thing I ate here that I didn't love. We were back twice in as many days.

Okay, so maybe it was post-wedding-bliss that made me love this place and everything single other thing I encountered that weekend. But I'm guessing Yummy will stand the test of time. And even years from now, I'll look lovingly at my husband and whisper in his ear about that one time, just after we were married, that we ate that friggin amazing pasta at Yummy.

Yummy is the kind of place the Seaside really needs. A lot of times when you're at the coast, you really like to experience something traditional and familiar. It's dated, but that's all part of the charm. Sometimes you want something that feels more stylish and the menu is more like something you'd find in a trendier part of Portland. Yummy is one of the few Seaside restaurants that can satisfy the latter urge.

We visit Seaside 3-4 times a year and were looking for something special as part of my wife's birthday celebration last year. With it's romantic, cozy atmosphere and fresh seafood options, Yummy was a great choice.

My wife had crab cakes that she adored while I went with a nice chicken pasta dish. The portions aren't huge, but they're tasty and quite aesthetically pleasing. If you're budget is in the $$$ range, they have some tempting three-course meals and samplers.... and, of course, a sizable wine selection.

I know this economic climate will be tough on a place like Yummy, but I really hope they make it. They really add a needed component to Seaside.

Like other reviewers I also feel that this place would do well in any large urban center.  the decor is warm & inviting, contemproary in a very good way.
I love that they display and sell work from new & upcoming as well as established artists.
We tried a good selection of wines and tasted a number of dishes and were extermely happy with all.
The owner Corey came out and gave us some great wine pairings for our dishes.
All in all it was a great experience.  the next time we are up from LA we'll definitely stop in for drinks & dinner.

Wow! A local, seasonal restaurant and wine bar on the Oregon Coast...? This is no longer the Seaside of my childhood. I don't know how I missed this place the past few times I've been to Seaside, but it won't happen again. The food was yummy, just as advertised, and though I couldn't sample the wine because I forgot my ID (Damn!) my husband seemed quite happy with it (perhaps a bit too happy).

Absolutely wonderful.  Went to dinner with my husband at the recommendation of a good friend and was so impressed.  Yummy's is a little off of Seaside's main drag and it's nice being away from the typical  usual Oregon Coast shops and touristy stuff. Yummy's has a variety of seating from super casual to formal dining.  The food and wine is outstanding especially for the price!  The wine selection is very large and the waitress we had was very knowledgable about pairing the best wine for the meal.  My husband and I each got glasses of wine that were wonderfully matched with our entrees.  We each had wine, an apetizer, entrees, desert and 'liquid' desert for under $75.  Pretty good deal!

Although "yummy" is certainly a reasonable word to use to describe the food and wine offerings at this gem in Seaside, it's a bit incongruous to the overall quality and atmosphere of the establishment. Yummy would be at home in most large cities in the US, offering an array of wines from around the world and a changing menu that emphasizes locally & organically produced items.

I started with a glass of a wine I was unfamiliar with - a Californian red blend called Hey Mambo Sultry. It was delicious - quite big and a bit fruit-forward, but with some tannic notes and a good structure. It went wonderfully with the cured meat platter we ordered. My next glass was also a California, this time a Cabernet Franc called Writer's Block. Also very tasty, a little more complex and a little less bold than the Hey Mambo Sultry. I enjoyed a grilled albacore tuna & Beecher's flagship cheese panini along with this wine. Dessert was a house-made eggnog cheesecake along with a very generous pour of Stangeland Winery's Chardonnay Decadence ice wine - a wonderful finish!

The interior is quite stylish, with table or couch seating and a nice fire roaring away to one side. They have TV trays if you're interested in ordering food on the couches. They feature original artwork on the walls and change it out fairly regularly. A new menu & new artist will be unveiled on February 28th, 2008 - might be a nice time to drop by and check the place out!

I already feel like whatever review I leave here is not going to do this place justice.  I've been visiting Seaside usually once/year for most of my life & the last couple years have had me there at least 1/month or so.  Part of this reason is because of this restaurant.  In a town like Seaside it's nice to have something a little more upscale to frequent.

The first few times I went here I was impressed with the decor and the artwork they keep on rotation.  My boyfriend gave me a little history of the building which added to the appeal of the place.  We usually would go for a bottle of wine, sit on the couches by the fireplace and have an appetizer or two.  All of these I've tried have been great.

For New Year's Eve we found out they were having a 5-course & 7-course menu twice that evening and decided to jump to the chance.  At first we had a hard time getting reservations (ended up on the waiting list) but after corresponding with Corey (the owner) & some people canceling we landed a spot for the late night dinner.  The menu was as follows:

    Crab cocktail
    Cheese platter
    Carrot soup
    Wild mushroom salad
    Halibut cheeks
    Buffalo meatloaf
    Shaved cocoa truffles

Absolutely everything was melt in your mouth fantastic!  Our server helped us pick out a bottle of wine to help complement the flavors on the menu and there was complementary champagne for dessert & the ball dropping.  At midnight there was dancing.

I love the fact that in this town so many people know each other and the hospitality is impressive.  Corey came to greet us at our table when we arrived and everyone I watched come in was greeted w/a hug from other patrons.

Recently we went there for the Valentine's Day 4-course menu and once again I was impressed.  I had a lobster shepard's pie that was beyond mouth watering.

If you get a chance to stop by Seaside please make sure you check out Yummy Wine Bar & Bistro.  You will not be disappointed.

I happened upon this place on a stroll for lunch when the nearby sushi place was closed (also has great food).  It was about 1 and this place didn't open until 3 so after checking out the menu decided to come back for dinner that night.
what a great spot.  small.  intimate.  loved the warmth of the fireplace.  open kitchen so you could see the chef at work.
supper nice server.  very helpful with wine choice and dinner entree.
my friend had ahi.  i had mushroom gnocchi.  both melted in your mouth and generous servings at a great price.
wish this place was in my small ocean side town.  will be back next time in seaside.

Nice place!  I agree that the name doesn't seem to fit the vibe, but I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes fireplaces, wine, and a generously sized menu filled with a variety of offerings at prices that encourage overeating.  I enjoyed my local pinot gris with an hors d'ouvres plate that included olives, pecorino romano, marcona almonds, oyster crostini, and on and on.  After spending last weekend in SF where every single menu except the Chinese spot had macaroni and cheese, my husband and I felt obligated to round out our tour with Yummy's version, and it delivered: cheesy, hint of sausage?, nice breadcrumbing on top . . . unfortunately, the microgreens on the side were kinda weedy, but that's hardly the point.  Go here to sample Oregon wines accompanied by good food and REALLY fast, pleasant service despite a full Saturday evening crowd.

Best chowder I have had in years; not thick but luxurious with a bit of cream and plenty if crab, halibut and shrimp. Organic greens with peaches, feta (and filberts if you eat nuts) were amazing. Great wine list and the atmosphere is super cozy and hip. Passed on dessert but rum cupcake with mint buttercream icing looked mighty good. The only issue I see is that the name and logo don't fit the kitchy upscale vibe of the place.
