I LOVE THIS PLACE! It is the best idea ever!

Pretty much they give you everything you need for any craft project. They provide you paint, glitter, paper, scissors, buttons, stickers, ribbon, letters - you name it, anything for your art project in their "Studio Fee".

Now I will admit it can get pretty pricey by the time you are done. So make sure you go in there with a game plan - because if you go in and diddle around you will have to pay for it.

They offer class and camps for kids and adults.  I went once for a women's craft night - they had wine, a masseuse and food. Um, perfect girls night out! So get on their website and join the mailing list - a great location to keep tabs on!

I really like this place, so much to do, you can come back 50 times and not have done the same project twice. I'll go here every week instead of the mall.

Specialties

Yucandu is a drop-in arts & crafts studio with hundreds of projects that "you can do".  Yucandu has projects for ages 5 to 95 to mosaic, collage and paint.  Yucandu also offers workshops, summer camps and private parties.  This summer, Yucandu has extended their hours into the evening where you are encouraged to relax, create and bring your own refreshments.  Half price studio time is between 6-8pm with purchase of project.

History

Established in 2003

About ten years ago, Yucandu started as a backyard summer art camp for neighborhood kids & their friends.  The creative itch was scratched and three years later, it grew from that to what you see today--a hands-on art studio for all ages and all skill levels.  Much of the furniture and shelving come from the original basement studio--the rest came from friends.  The ever-growing "patina" comes from thousands of folks who have stopped in to make a little art.
