The food here is great if you're craving some Hawaiian food.  The price does get up there from a plate lunch stand point.  Over $10 for a "plate lunch" what has thing world come to?  The pipikaula is way too dry for my tastes.  The Laulau is great but I wish there was a pork one that didn't have fish in there.  I always found laulau fish to be too fishy.

Oh, Young's Fish Market- will you marry me?

We can run away! It will just be me, you and your Lau Lau. Maybe some Lomi Salmon and Kalua pork... and Hupia. Others may say you are not the best, but they have not been apart from you- not thought with longing about the day when they would be reunited with your unique flavor.

Ok, Seriously- I dream about this place. It is very yummy and and the price is right. I think I must have been local in a past life, because this food tastes like home. I plan on trying everything they offer.

Here is the breakdown:

* Wait staff: You tell the nice lady what you want and she gives it to you.
* Drink Menu: I am not sure, I was more interested in the food
* Menu:  Hawaiian
* Parking: Lot
* Dress: Casual

If you want good local grindz... you need to come to this place. Get a little crowded during lunch hour, but it's all worth the wait!   The food are so homemade and fresh, and you can't have the same quality anywhere else, really! Didn't even think about this place before since it's written "fish market" but my co-worker took me here one day... and I was hooked! Everytime I craved for Laulau.. although it's far from where I lived..  this is the place! So worth the drive!

We had always had Young's in the house, but not until recently had I eaten there.

Well where the hell have I been?

Lau lau, Lomi Salmon, sides of poke - I loved it all.  The chicken long rice needed a little more broth for my taste, but all in all, the place is perfect.  And yes, the smaller "mini" plate is still plenty.

Don't go looking for something fancy.  You're going to eat off of a disposable plate with plastic flatware.  And try to eat at off-hours, and not too late in the afternoon.

Geez - Young's really makes me want to go home.

the aunties serve up the local grinds here with serious ohana.  we got some pasteles that were subpar (soggy masa???  blegh!!! you know its tough eating da kine outside of big island yeah?)...but the lau lau and poi was the real deal baby!!!!

prices are pure value (everything like 3 dollar price range) and the selection deli-style is hard to come by, especially being everything is made fresh.  got some tables for seating, but come on..in Oahu eating inside???  loco i say!

A great place to get local Hawaiian food, far from the tourists.  Don't expect a fu-fu place, but the Lau Lau's (a vegetable similar to spinach with a hunk of fatty pork and salted fish wrapped in ti leaves and steamed), Kahlua Pork and Lomi Lomi Salmon is good.  I always order Lau Lau's and pick them up on my way to the airport.  They package them with gel ice and arrive completely frozen at home.  They re-heat great and give you a great taste of the islands.

Young's Fish Market serves up your local favorites with a no-nonsense, but friendly enough attitude. No schmancyness at all.

My favorites here are the Kalua Pig, Pork Lau Lau, and Lomi Lomi Salmon.

The Chicken Long Rice could be a little...chickenier.

A really good lunch spot if you can stand the line. If not, go off hours instead.

Stick to the kalua pig

I confess I am not a big lau lau fan.  What is the big deal about wrapping something in a leaf?  Leaves are not especially tasty, not compared to pork!  That is why I skipped the lau lau here and went straight to the kalua pig, which was the tastiest I had outside of a privately catered event.  The juxtaposition of delicious pork served in a flimsy paper dish makes it taste even better.

There is not much to say about the rest of this place's plate lunch or ambience (none), but the staff is friendly, and they serve real kalua pig, cooked in an imu, and that's good enough for me.

This is by far the best Hawaiian food that you could eat on the island. Although it is pricer than the rest, it is worth the money. All of the ingredients they use are the freshest and the best.

Even though locals swear by this place for lau laus, I personally am not THAT crazy about them. I've tasted better. There just isn't enough taro leaves for me in Young's lau laus. Known as the lau lau place, Young's makes over 1,000 lau laus (chicken, fish, pork & vegetable) a day. I only like the chicken or pork lau laus anyway so don't matter if they make veggie ones or fish ones. To me, the best lau laus are packed with lots of taro leaves.
