A great place to have a great time!
All you can eat (& grill) Korean BBQ for about $25. They have a variety of meats you can grill yourself at your table. They also have rice and a bunch of banchan (little appetizers) and salad you can eat to balance out all the meat intake.
Service was great; the grill plate was changed frequently (most likely due to my Korean bf!). All the constant grilling makes the place pretty smoky..definitely step outside every now and then. The smell also consumes you and your clothing (so don't wear anything too nice and tight for that matter).
This is also a BYOB so it's even better on your wallets!Listed in: Let's save some monies.., Meatarian

This nondescript BYOB is an excellent value for Korean BBQ. I've been to Young Bin Kwan a few times for non-KBBQ meals, but thoroughly enjoyed myself for their BBQ experience.
Glad I had a friend who could speak Korean, and others who would cook and serve. Besides BBQ, we had sashimi made-to-order, and a generous helping of scallion salad (which we totally finished).
Their ventilation needs work, though, so be warned. My dream of making my car smell like food may be realized if I come here more often...Listed in: Philly Favorites, Philly Korean

I love coming to Young Bin Kwan! My boyfriend, his parents, and I won't go anywhere else for Korean BBQ.
The staff is friendly and recognizes our group, and is always accomodating. My boyfriend's father especially loves the sushi and raves about how fresh it is.
A few friendly tips:
- Try the pork belly and request a little sesame oil. Put some salt and pepper in the oil and dip the pork belly in the mixture - this is my favorite thing to eat at YBK other than the kalbi!
- Bring alcohol, if you dare. (I prefer sipping water so I can eat as much yummy barbecue as possible.)Listed in: Top Restaurants

Fantastic!
You can smell the awesome as soon as you pull into the parking lot. The servers barely spoke English, but they were very helpful and accommodating. Our table's grill was broken, so they quickly moved us to another table while apologizing for the inconvenience. There was nothing to apologize for because we moved about three feet, but it was nice. It's BYOB, and everything I had was awesome. The meat was savory and tender, and the banchan was good as well. And it was only $23!
Be warned that the smell sticks: My hair smelled delicious for the rest of the night and even still the next morning. I woke up hungrier than ever because of the smell. MmmmmmmListed in: I could eat here for the rest…

I like to imagine that this place is somewhat of a secret, only meant for those privileged enough to get clued in. The entrance is poorly marked, the sign still says Young Bin Kwan even though it's now Seoul Garden, and it's smoky like a speakeasy if you show up a few hours after they open.
Anyway, it's worth finding them. They offer what should be regarded as the gold standard for all dining experiences - unlimited, marinated, delicious meat. It's like the fancy Brazilian spots in the city but without the frills or accompanying bill. -

Caution: Come hungry and don't wear nice clothes!!!
I'm a huge fan of this place!! The ownership and name of the restaurant has changed but its still fantastic. If you're looking for incredible and down to earth Korean BBQ, look no further. This place uses the authentic coals used in Korean BBQ and the variety of meat and tasty banchun makes my mouth water.
Downside is that it gets very smoky in here so you'll leave stinking of Korean BBQ.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I may go there tonight. -

Well, you know you can't go wrong when as soon as you park the car and get out your stomach grumbles and your insides melt from the crazy delicious aromas flowing from Young Bin Kwan.
The whole process of getting seated, getting adjusted and getting a huge food baby was pretty smooth. The ladies that work the place get you into a table, set up the area and everything else for you and all there's left is to get up and grab platefuls of glorious ban chan, meats and seafood.
The food is so freaking delicious...I'm not sure how many plates I ate but I know I couldn't stop going back for more. The selection is fabulous and the servers are above and beyond nice and helpful throughout the entire experience.
I didn't see any sushi this time around but hey I intend on coming back for 2nd and 3rd rounds so I'll keep my eye out. -

I am definitely a fan of this korean buffet. I found this place while randomly searching through yelp for a korean bbq buffet and decided to try it out myself. For $23.99 this is without tax+tip, you can enjoy a selection of beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and side dishes. You can pick whatever you like and similar to a regular food buffet, you take your selection back to your table and start grilling. They have a solid selection of side dishes, rice, vegetables, and even drinks.
I would recommend this place to anyone. It was delicious and the servers were very kind and hospitable! =) -

We found where the former owners went. They are in Upper Darby and bought out a terrible Korean BBQ place called Philly's buffet. The food is as good as it was before, she still yells at you for not eating enough, and the food is done the way it should be: on coals.

Review from Steve L.
Fort Lauderdale, FL
After my Korean BBQ epiphany down in DC, I have been trying to find the equivalent to it in Philadelphia. Through much research on the web, Yelp, and friends, it all lead me to Young Bin Kwan. The Yelp reviews excited me and the persuasive words from my foodie friend convinced me to hit up this spot.
First off, the place is not that hard to find, contrary to the reviews here. It is caged in an area under apartment buildings. It has a fairly large sign that is visible from the street as well.
We entered the restaurant, with our smiles wide and excitement level sky rocketing. All this was nothing compared to the hunger I had awaiting me. They had sat us down and we proceeded to the buffet. They had a pretty good selection with all the meats you'd expect at a KBBQ. I noticed the marinate was really watery, which is not always a bad thing, but I hope the flavor would stay after grilling. They also had a selection of kimchi and the sushi was not yet available (we had to ask if it was included, or not). We went for the plates, and the semi-stickiness turned me off immediately. Not the greatest start, since dirty plates freak me out. We got what we wanted and returned to the table, where they were still fixing our grill. I believe something was wrong with it, but we stood/sat there awkwardly while they were all crowded around our table.
Finally, the grilled was fixed and the meats were fired up by our server. We had to wait a bit for the grill to get hot, but the steam and grilled smokey flavor filled the air. The food was not that bad. Some of the meats could have been a bit more tender, but overall it was a nice to eat. The pork belly was frozen though, which was a bit sad.
The sushi started to show up, but it was nothing good. It basically had a california roll with yellowtail nigiri. Not the freshest.
More problems came when more people started to come in. We had a couple parties of 3-4 people and a family. There were only 3 people working last night, so you do the math. We did not get any attention after our first plate of food, and it was just a hassle to get our food cooked for us. I even started to try and operate the grill myself, but I think ours was broken and had to be pressed and kept down for it to light up. After awhile, I got a hand of it and started cooking myself, which I preferred.
I left the place pretty unhappy, yet full. The service was poor, but that was due to the understaff. The selection could have had been of higher quality, but not a huge problem with me. My experience down in DC at a similar place raised the bar way too high. I couldn't give Young Bin Kwan a four, because it was no where near my time down in DC. I could have given it a three, but the service was really poor. A 2 or a 2.5 would be the most reasonable for the place. Alone, Young Bin Kwan will deliver an all you can eat Korean style BBQ at a decent price of $22.99. Is it the best? No, but for Philadelphia, you cannot complain. -

Hands down. The best korean bbq buffet style in Philadelphia.
If this is your first time driving here, you'll have a hard time finding the place.. since your GPS will bring you to bunch of tall apartment complex.
Get to this place hungry, since you will need every single space in your stomach to be filled with delicious and juicy meats. The place is not smokeless, don't even bother to dress up when you decided to eat here.
Even though the servers can't speak English well, do not be afraid for they are friendly and patient enough to help you with whatever you need.
It is BYOB. They do sell some drinks though. But I suggest to bring your own since it's cheaper that way. -

Though I've definitely had better galbi, this is the place I would go to to satisfy a late night craving for Korean BBQ. They've got a small but solid buffet of meats, kimchi, purple rice, soup, and other Korean side dishes, in addition to sushi. They serve barley tea, which is included in the buffet, but canned sodas and other drinks are not.
The decor and service is nothing to rave about. 4-6 people per grill. The waiters and waitresses were attentive at first, changing our grill plate without asking, but stopped after the second hour. There is no time limit for your stay so I advise you to make the best of your $25. -

Um, all you can eat Korean BBQ? YES PLEASE!
As you can see from the other reviews, the kalbi is where its at! The food here is great and the service here is wonderful too! If you dont know what you're doing, the owners will come by and help you out. Make sure you're wearing sweat pants when you eat here. Your waist is bound to expand, guarantee it. -

Unless you're like me who just gone through 10 days of not eating in effort of weight loss, it's good to have friends who knows where all the hot spots for great food are. Seoul Garden (aka Young Bin Kwan) is such a place. God knows it's not easy to get to from Philadelphia, and the half hidden location with the half hidden signs make it even harder to find. Unless you have a GPS or someone have brought you here before, you wouldn't know that a great Korean all you can eat BBQ restaurant could be located on the ground floor of what seems to be an apartment building.
For $23, you get to come and eat all the meat you can eat cooked in a do it yourself BBQ stove. It's really easy enough, You get 3 kinds of beef, chicken, squid, shrimp, crabs with different Korean sides like bean sprouts salad, Korean pancakes, pickled vegetables, tofu, soups, rice, vermicelli. My favorite is of course the tender beef ribs meat rolls. Just unroll the meat and grill it on both sides for 2 minutes or so and you get the most buttery, succulent piece of beef you've ever tasted. You can eat them all night and it'd still be cheaper than any steakhouse in the region.
Try to keep your good clothes in the closet, because you'd end up smelling like grilled meat by the end of the night. There's plenty of parking but do come earlier so you don't have to sleep with a full stomach. The decor is not much but it's very clean. People here are very friendly and they'll come and help you out if you're not that experienced in cooking your own meat. It's great. -
Review from Victor C.
Finally found an all you can eat Korean BBQ!! The last time I was at one was years ago, on Castor Ave. but that place changed owners and no longer does all you can eat =(
I knew this place was legit when I stepped out of the car and already smelled the scent grilled marinaded meats. The restaurant is spacious (necessary for making multiple trips to the buffet) and the decor is simple. We were seated promptly by a young gentleman and he fired up our grill right away.
First trip, Kalbi, bulgogi, tripe, spicy pork, spicy chicken, shrimp, spicy squid, thick bacon, kim chi. As the meats were grilling I looked towards the sushi bar and noticed the deliciousness that was part of the all you can eat extravaganza. Second trip, a whole lot of korean appetizers and sushi! The sushi wasn't all that, but still gets cool points.
Food and service was great. I will gladly pay the $25 for a trip here any day! I cannot wait to go back, and now that I know it's BYO, it's going to be even BETTER!! Thank you Sandy S. for sharing the Korean bbq odor with me the rest of the evening :) -

Since this is one if not the only Korean BBQ Buffet left in the area how can I not give it 5 stars? Plus they marinade their meats! I went I ate lots of meat and left smelling like I had been at a campfire. I need to assemble a large group and go there again. Dining like this is always more fun with a crowd. Oh and I saw a sushi bar there too, I believe you can order food as well, you are not limited to just the buffet.

This place is amazing. All the other korean bbq buffets pretty much died out in the Philly area. This is pretty much one of the only ones left around here. I'm actually kinda hesitant to review this place in fear that everyone will swarm the place, steal all their food, and drive them out of business, hehe.
Anyway, it's all you can eat. Dinner is just 19 bux! They have the usual meats available (bulgogi, kalbi, etc.). It is such amazing quality, you can stuff yourself with it for hours. They also have other side dishes (even sushi!) and they're all pretty decent. Top it off with some soju and you're set!
It's a fairly small place and probably fits a party of 10 at most... though one time when we had 15 people, they just put us at adjacent tables.
If you don't know how to cook the bbq, the staff can help out. Though they don't really speak English well, they're very friendly. -

We went based on the Yelp reviews specifically for the Korean BBQ, on a Saturday at lunchtime. Apparently, you 'can' have the BBQ at lunchtime, but no one does. The hostess warned us before we sat down that the buffet was $21.95. The buffet itself was completely empty except for ice and there were only two other customers in the place. I suppose they would have pulled the buffet food out of the fridge for us. After sitting for 60 seconds, we bailed.
I'm really excited to try this place, but I think you want to go at dinner time. I'll update my review when we get the chance to go back.Listed in: My Neighborhood, Kool Korean stuff (from a…

I do not understand exactly how it works, but I love it!
I have never had Korean BBQ before but the place is a block from my house, so my wife and I wondered in one night to see what we thought about "Sushi Cocktail" (which is what the sign out front reads). There is still sushi, there is no cocktail from what I can tell.
But there is also a meat bar (awesome) and a squad of older Korean ladies who go out of their way to help newcomers navigate the many options. They helped us get our tabletop grill going and kind of pantomimed how to do things (English is not widely spoken).
I had to discretely study some of the other patrons to know what to do, and I'm sure that I never quite got the hang of it, but I enjoyed almost everything and ended up eating way too much.
Every time I go back I learn a little more and I always enjoy myself. -
Review from Kimi K.

Yay!!! It's a kalbi buffet!! Even after reading all the yelp reviews on how hidden this place was, and even with a GPS, we still got lost when we went this place for the first time. I called the restaurant and asked for the direction, and the azumma just had no idea where she was located. She kept saying that it was where Burlington was, so we just looked for Burlington Coat Factory. It was actually about 5 mins away (by car) from the Burlington on Old York Rd. It is on Township Line Rd. between Washington and Breyer Dr (or Old York). Breyer Dr. doesn't even show on Google Map.
Anyways, they actually serve other Korean foods, but I've only had the buffet. I've never seen anyone having other than buffet for dinner. They have the usual that a normal kalbi buffet place has: tong-galbi, sam-kyup-sal, bul-go-gi, shrimp, squid, and more. It's perfectly marinated. The quality of the tong- kalbi is wonderful. Sometimes, they are thick but mostly thinly sliced. There is also a sushi bar. If there's sashimi or cali-rolls on the sushi bar, you can just take them. It's free, but they only make it when it's busy (after 7ish on weekends). There is a few similar but different prices in this review page, but I was told that it was $22.50 plus tax and tip per person for buffet. The drinks are additional, and it's BYOB.
For newbies, this is how it works. When the waitress sit you, ask for a drink you want (ice water, soda, tea, or beer). The waitress will start a fire on the burner. While the grill is warming up, go to the food court and get meat, rice, salads and side dishes (in a couple of trips). You can try all of them, but the most expensive meat (supposed to be the best in taste also) is the tong-kalbi. It's a long thin sliced meat rolled over a bone. If you are a newbie, just let the waitress grill for you. The grilling can be much more complicated than you ever imagined. Even some of waitresses are not perfect. If you burn the grill, you can always ask for a new one. However, changing a grill once is normal and maybe twice for a big group. If you ask to change the grill too often, the azummas may show some attitudes. This is from my over 10 years of grilling experience at a Korean restaurant. =) -

This place is amazing! It's a full buffet of raw meat that you take yourself and grill at your table in the charcoal Korean grills. I highly recommend this place for Korean food newbies as you can really experience various meats without being committed to something you may not like. The banchan are amazing! So many choices!!!!!!! The whole place is amazing, and it's only $23/pp!!!! The little Korean ladies will help you out if you're a Korean BBQ newbie. Just keep in mind that it's at the bottom of an apartment complex, so it's relatively easy to miss. You WILL smell like you doused yourself in charcoal cologne though afterwards. It's not owned by the same people anymore, and the food has suffered since then.

Review from Jodi L.

I had been looking forward to trying Young Bin Kwan ever since I read about it here on yelp. It did not disappoint.
First, let me give a hint to those who are trying to locate it. As previously mentioned, it is located in an apartment complex. The name of the complex is The Colonade. This complex is at the corner of Washington Lane and Township Line Rd. Even though the address is 101 Washington Lane, you cannot see the restaurant from Washington Lane. The sign and the restaurant are actually along Township Line Rd. Hopefully that saves someone from getting lost as we did!
The decor is average, not very exciting. But we weren't there for the decor--we were there for the meat! What's exciting about a buffet for Korean BBQ is that you get to try a whole bunch of different meats for about the same price as only one type of meat at a non-buffet.
The two women working there were friendly and led us to a table and immediately started lighting our grill. It took a minute to get it going and she encouraged us to go get our food while she was fussing with it.
There was quite a spread of meat available. We went for the Kalbi and bulgogi first, then followed it up with bacon, spicy chicken, tripe, whole shrimp, and octopus. Everything was delicious. The Kalbi was particularly good; well marinated and extremely tender. The spicy chicken was also a standout. I wanted to try the spicy pork, but we were just too full! The bacon was my least favorite, only because it was not marinated, but I think that's how it's supposed to be.
Along with the meat there were a number of banchan. There were 3 kinds of cabbage kimchi, all of which were good. Two were medium spicy, the other was white. There were bean sprouts, spicy scallions, and spicy-sweet cucumbers. There was also soup, which we didn't have. I understand from the other reviews that there would have been sushi if we went for dinner, but at lunch there was none available. We also couldn't find lettuce leaves, but the people who came in while we were finishing up seemed to find them, so we must have missed them.
I liked that the women working there set up the grill and let us grill it ourselves--that's half the fun and sometimes Korean restaurants don't trust you to do it yourself.
To drink, they brought out tea, there was coffee available, and there were cans of soda in a refrigerator that you could grab. They also had some desserts, I think, but we passed on those and didn't get too good a look at them.
Overall, very delicious and only 25 dollars each! We are already planning our return trip. -

This place is amazing! Full buffet of raw meat that you take yourself and you take that meat to the grill that is at your table and put it on the grill and cool yourself. The sides are amazing! My faves are the potatoes, the white and orange strings of veggies in water, the noodles, the salad with the homemade dressings, soups, rice, etc. The whole place is amazing. All this for $25.00!!! You really can't beat that. The only thing is go on an empty stomach, cause you will get filled up VERY quickly!!!

Found a 1" roach in the woo-guh-jee tang (cabbage in bean paste stew). Told the owner/manager about the roach and accused me of not seeing it in the bowl before ladling the soup in. I said that wasn't possible. She didn't even offer to give us a discount or free meal. When I told the waitress that we at least deserved a discount, she told me that it wasn't possible until I told her I wanted to speak with the owner/manager. The result: 2 free cans of beers. Would not go back again.

This is a good place out of default. There are basically no other AYCE KBBQ places in the philly area. With that said, I do not know why it isn't more crowded. I want this place to flourish so a. it wont get shut down and b. others can see their success and open more. The kalbi or ribs are the best thing here. Most of the time they even help cook it for you so thats a plus. Although I love this place for its sheer quantities of good meat, I can't give it a 5 since, it could be better. Also it is BYOB and I think like 26 a person for dinner.

Took my mom there for dinner and we had such a great time! Finding the place was a piece of cake thanks to all the yelpers who posted tips. The restaurant is off of Township Line Rd, not Washington Lane. It's in the first floor of an apt building called the Colonade Apartments. Look for the large white sign with purple writing that says "Sushi Cocktail".
It smelled great from the minute you walk in. The waiters and waitresses are roving so you can ask anyone for help. They speak enough English that you get the general idea. They were so great at telling us what each meat was, they got the grill started and helped us cook it, and they even helped us pick good sauces. One of the ladies saw I was struggling to make a good lettuce wrap and showed me how you hold the lettuce and how to wrap it tightly.
We ate the Kalbi, bulgogi and the spicy pork.. all very good!! The sesame oil and the bean curd went perfect with the meats. We also got a little bit of shushi and that was pretty good. It was under $50 for two people (not including tip) and absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. -

after reading all the good reviews here i thought i'd give this a try. who doesnt love barbeque, right? oh and thanks for the directions guys. without it, id have never found it. easy way to find it...off of old york take a right onto township line. it is on the first block, on the right.
the whole thing was rather interesting. pretty much no idea what we were doing. and some of the foods, not a clue what they were. but what we did have was very good. we tried the beef, chicken, pork and shrimp. our server directed us to choose our meat and she started the cooking, showing us how she liked it done. kimchi was excellent. there were toddlers there wating with a finesse that made me look like i had been raised amongst wolves. but as the evening wore on, the better we did.
only issues: we were never offered drinks other than water. wish someone would have explained/written what some of the other foods were. -
