After walking by this joint daily for the past several years, we finally decided to give Yorkshire a go (also the line at Los Cantaros was too long).
This is the place to go for some greasy, tasty fish n chips. We got the "popcorn" shrimp, very crunchy! Also the fish n chips with tilapia. The chalkboard menu says you can pick which kind of fish you'd like, so be sure to specify or they will just throw in cod without asking.
Both items were about 7-8 bucks and came with a gigantic side of fries. Portions are enough to split - we got about 7 pieces of fish and maybe 20 shrimp!
Very reminiscent of the "chippers" I frequented in Ireland.
The decor isn't much to write home about, but a good place to grab some hangover food and have a quick picnic in the park.

you get a choice of tilipia, cod, sole, red snapper. i choose the cod yorkshire option(7.95) which came with 6 pieces of fish, a few pieces of thin fries, the sauces, and no salad.
the fish were mostly lacking in fish taste. that and a slight browning on the flesh of the fish make me suspect the fish might be pollock, but not the chinese kind. this fish was thick so it had to be atlantic or alaskan.
this place appears to be family runned and the guy seems to try hard to please. need to retry another fish at another time. this place (to me)
isn't as bad as some say or as great as others say.
there's value as there was 6 pieces of fish!

Do you like fish? Do you like fried fish? If so, you have to check out Yorkshire. You get to pick what kind of fish you want and what batter they deep fry it in. I had the catfish in cornmeal; it was a good sized portion, enough for two meals. The fish came with fries and the house salad, both were a good compliment to the fish filets.
This is not the place to go if you are trying to fend off heart disease, high blood pressure, or obesity; otherwise eat up mate.
I am giving Yorkshire Fish & Chips 5 stars to hopefully balance out the most likely undeserved 1 star that the other reviewer of this place gave.
I have to admit that I was surprised by the amount of different choices of fish I had to chose from when reading the handwritten chalkboard menu. The selection changes daily but today they had Sole, Cod, Tilapia, Red Snapper and I believe they also had Catfish. I went with the Tilapia and I was very satisfied. I got a good size portion and the breading was different than what you might expect from a place like this. It was not the typical heavy, doughy, greasy breading. It was a nice homemade thin breading. Very tasty. The fries were your typical thin McDonalds sized french fries which they give you a big portion of. Grand total with tax = $8.65
They did offer other things on the menu that ranged from about $6 - $14. They had Popcorn Shrimp, Chicken Strips, Fried Oysters, Fried Zucchini & Mushrooms, a few salads and a I believe a couple of other plates that come with beans and rice instead of fries. I will definitely be going back to try some of these other items.
They are closed on Sundays and Mondays and open from 12-8 every other day.

The fried fish had black, old, fried pieces from past frying.
Clean your oil, dude!
