Yoko's is the best in the East Bay. Check them out on YouTube, they're amazing and all of the awards and trophies you see in their studio will prove it. They must have at least 100 trophies, no lie!
I have dance experience but nothing as intense as Yoko's, but even though I'm 21 and the average girl dancing must be 12-15, i fit in okay. I must be young at heart.
the instructors are teenagers around the ages of 17, but they are pro status.
1st class is $54 a month
2nd class is $90
Yoko is no joke herself. Her rep is tough but her toughness provides results...national champions.
want to be a star dancer??? go to Yoko's
have money though because costumes, competition, and taking at least 5 classes to be good enough for competition is NOT CHEAP!
oh yeah, not to mention gas for your car. it's about a mile or two from Fry's electronics next to 680 -

Even though Yokos dancers have amazing talents, I dislike the ethnic of the studio. I checked it out once and a girl working the front desk was extremely rude when I asked her about how their competition hip hop team scores at competitions. I decided not to go to Yokos, but my best friend has been dancing there for 4 years. She is a perfect weight for her age but an employee told her that she was fat and my best friend actually then started to suffer from an eating disorder, just so she could remain on her competition team. It truly upsets me every time I think about it.

wow, no reviews for Yoko's yet? Well, I took dance classes with Yoko's studio for about 10 years (at the current location, old location, and also while she was still teaching at Mission Dance and Performing Arts). I have to admit that Yoko had her favorites. She could be really harsh or not very nice to you if you weren't one of her best dancers. Although I never got great at dance, she was always nice to me- don't know why, maybe since she knew me since I was little. Anyhow, while I was taking dance classes here, they were all challenging and I felt like I learned a lot. After taking dance at other places after, the classes never challenged me as much as the ones at Yoko's- and a challenge is a good thing, helps you learn. Yoko's studio also produced a lot of great dancers. Many of the girls who competed through Yoko's are awesome dancers. I still know some of them now who are in college and majoring in dance and kicking butt!
