Why does this place have to be within walking distance of my place? I'm going to become fat. Or maybe not since there are non-fat options.
Self service, numerous flavors, and all the toppings you want so you can eat like a fat kid. And a 10% student discount. I love it.
Can't believe it took me this long, but I'm a complete Yogurtland convert.
Amazing taste and only 30 cents an ounce? I'm dreaming of my next Yogurtland trip right now.
I can't even begin to list all the times Yogurtland has saved me from doing something drastic in the midst of dessert deprivation. This location has been my go-to fro-yo place for the past year. While the La Brea location is better in terms of flavours and toppings, nothing quite beats the experience of eating at Curry House, parking in the Office Depot lot, and walking past the USC students and police officers lounging around outside to wait in a longass line for your turn.
My favourite flavours are pistachio, gingerbread, lemon lime, green apple tart, pomegranate raspberry tart, vanilla wafer, and original. Their original is the best I've ever had at any fro-yo place. Honestly, all the flavours are good - they taste exactly like what they advertise. Gazing upon all the toppings makes me want to weep with joy, and the prices could not be more reasonable.
THANK YOU, YOGURTLAND. Even if life takes me away from Los Angeles, I will always remember the good times we had together.
16 flavors of froyo, at least that many toppings, and only 30 cents an ounce. I went with a very enthusiastic young boy, and both our piled-up-high cups together came to under $8.
He loved the Dutch chocolate, pomegranate, and pineapple flavors the most. I liked the pineapple lots, too, and also coconut and vanilla. We also tried taro, pistachio, and cookies and cream. Toppings include lychees and mochi, as well as the usual sprinkles, cookie bits, fruit, etc.
Now our #1 froyo place! Must bring more people here ;)
After a hearty meal in Little Tokyo and what not, I usually head over to Yogurtland for my usual Plain/tart piled with strawberries and mangos. A great way to top off the night.
One of the best places on earth! Only problem with this place is that it isn't closer to my house!!!
p.s. Pinkberry can go eat a d***.
Pumpkin pie froyo. And gingerbread. Gooooo. (I didn't want to admit it, but I think I like the gingerbread one more. =X)
Yogurtland is for a while Tokidoki themed. Cutest spoons and bowls you'll ever see. :)

This review is based on TASTE ALONE
I used to be like all of you, thinking this place was the SHEEYAT. Dragging friends and coworkers alike. However, the more and more I have Yogurtland the more and more I realize it really doesn't taste THAT GOOD. I mean seriously pretty much ALL the flavors are bland. I'm sorry to disappoint, but there is better tasting froyo out there with a BETTER toppings selection. Yogurtland's gooey fruit and minimal dry topping choices=whack. Cherry on top is better, and they are opening one in downtown soon YAY.
OMG, when I first moved to LA about a year ago, I fell in love with Yogurtland. I had first tried Pinkberry, and while it was....great.....it wasn't fantastic like Yogurtland is....Why is Yogurtland fantastic? Because:
*You served yourself as much as you want
*16 mfkn flavors!!! Awesome...Peanut Butter & Nilla Wafer flavors rock my world
*Toppings galore!
*Open late!
Yum!
$50 Gift Card goes a long ways at YL. Pinkberry move aside, my gift card as allowed me to take I've taken numerous friends and co-workers for 16 flavors of fun. This location is always BUSY and can get kind of messy on the patio but it's a great place to people watch. Oh and free yogurt on your birthday.
One mile from home, which is just long enough to justify eating the mochi and cheesecake bits on top of my nonfat yogurt. God I love this place...
I like frozen yogurt. No, I love frozen yogurt.
After coming here, I fantasize about frozen yogurt.
I like variety and variety is what Yogurtland exemplifies. I usually can't make up my mind so I end up with about 6 flavors in my cup. Then I see all the toppings and of course have to pile on about 6 or 7 of those as well.
Then it gets weighed. $3.12? That's IT? I want to high five the cashier.
Sweet.
Oh and the fact that it's crazy delicious makes me want to dance.
Anywhere where frozen yogurt is 30cents an ounce is amazing, but yogurtland has surpassed any leading self served ice cream/yogurt shop!
Anyone who comes to visit or if we are just craving some frozen yogurt we go directly to yogurtland.
it has NEVER failed me!
oh one thing, don't go right before they close, they turn the machines off and its not as good.
Dear Yogurtland,
You will be the death of me. I try nearly everything and I damn near empty the lychee container into my cup! I heart you even though my lactose intolerant self shouldn't be partaking in your deliciousness!
XOXO, Me
To be honest I'm not really a fan of most of these yogurt bars. Maybe it's because I still love ice cream.
Out of the yogurt bars though I prefer the setup of Cefiore and Pinkberry to Yogurtland.
The cool thing is that Yogurtland has good and interesting variety in yogurt flavors and toppings. However especially since it does not have a large space it gets crowded fast and quite a few of the interesting flavors seem almost pointless as I have no idea of what toppings would taste well with them.
Yesss, yogurtland, the love of my life. The first time I had it was in Irvine and later in Fullerton at the more OG locations, but now that I live near Downtown LA I always take the 10-15 minute drive to Little Tokyo for some late-night yogurt.
Pluses: line may be long, but it goes through pretty quickly. they have a good assortment of flavors, and since you can just grab the sample cups and try some I always know what I want to get. Since they're open late and conveniently located, it's always the perfect place to go for a quick yogurt fix that I can pay about $2 for a variety of flavors than a $5 pinkberry, and there has always been seating available for me whenever I've gone.
Minuses: There are none, really. Oh, one: I go here too much late at night and so my waistline is suffering.
wait a minute...
wait just one freakin minute.
I haven't reviewed this place yet?
Of all the yogurt places in the land that is Los Angeles, how could I have missed this gem, the yogurtiest of the yogurtees, the yogurt goldmine....the best yogurt place EVER!!!!
Pinkberry and Cefiore: watch yourself homies. Yogurtland is AWESOME!
Every time I go, there is a line. That's ok. I don't mind waiting in a line that wraps around the corner, just past Staples.
It's all worth the wait for some fresh plain tart ice cream and a smidge of blueberry or s'mores.
And, then there's toppings. Kiwi and strawberries and granola. That's nice, but I'm not a grandma, here. So, I like to accessorize with Cap'n Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Gummy Worms, Gummy Bears, Oreo Cookies and Cheescake.
Oh, and this Yogurtland is pretty clean and sanitary. It's very interesting, though. If you look up, you will see their warehouse. How about turning that into a nice lounge. It's like, "hey, where's the par-tay at this weekend." "Haven't you heard: the Yogurtland lounge."
Just sayin....
how could you go wrong?
unless you just haven't figured out yet the things in life that you like... which in that case... yogurtland should be the least of your worries.
Yogurtland. You are the thick plastic framed eyeglasses of fashion. The Kings of Leon of radio. The Prius of the false sense of green empowerment. You Yogurtland, like these other things, are a culturally virulent trendy mother effer... that I shamelessly find enjoyable.
If I wasn't so explosively (that's explosively with a capitol E) lactose intolerant I would have a $6-$8 cup of Strawberry + Coconut + Green Tea + Mochi + Mango every damn day. I actually think the only thing stopping me is the fear that while walking back home with a $8 tummy full of yogurt, my blood would go "laptic" (i combined septic and lactose..sort of) and I would pass out in a ditch...in downtown...4 blocks from skid row.
-------------------------------------------------
-The toppings are always in stock. The busy workers are always on top of filling up the little stations (tip them!)
- Are the flavors any different than the other locations? I have no clue
- Always seems to be crowded, but the line moves by quickly. In part to once again the busy workers hustlen.
- Should be noted the fruit toppings are not as fresh and crisp as some other competing chains. They have that mushy overly frozen or canned characteristic. Still delicious. Just don't expect that crisp bite.
- Opens till 12am. Fart in your sleep.
BRILLIANT!
There's something about stepping into a Yogurtland that gives you a fun, child-like feelilng all over again. Maybe its the self-serve machines with no supervision that make you feel like the possibilities are endless. Or the fact that you can carefully craft your own dessert with your favorite flavors and toppings and not have anyone think you're crazy. Either way, you have to give credit to whomever came up with this idea.
Location: convenient.
Service: great.
Cleanliness: great.
Parking: Free and has never been a problem.
Pinkberry can suck it.
Oh yeah, after my Pinkberry experience I thought this whole fro-yo thing was overrated. I mean, it's okay I don't know why it's so novel all of a sudden. TCBY used to do this kind of stuff all the time didn't it? Yogurtland proves me wrong, you can only have so many toppings that are unique, there are only so many fruits and/or cereal toppings that people like, but the ingenious thing is the pay by weight so if you pay ten dollars for yogurth the only one to blame is yourself-but that must be a lot of Captain Crunch you put on.
The flavors are plentiful, they're pretty standard but stuff like taro and mango are unique enough to stand out. Pistachio being a favorite of mine, although the berry flavors are my personal favorite, though, strawberry bananas, and mixed berry with the berries on top were a great desert after every gluttonous experience I had.
OMG - Nutter butter is fantastic!!!!!!! Way better than the peanut butter. I'm sure it's one of the flavors that has high fructose corn syrup, though.

This is definitely as good as it gets in the fro-yo world.

What sets this place apart from others? The wide selection and perfect flavors. My favorite combo is the blueberry and original with mochi and mountain of fruits.
Thanks to K-dog and Beck-ster for taking me here!
I used to be a hater--see my review of Twist--but, after visiting the Little Tokyo location, I've come around to Yogurtland. You see, my only experience before had been with the Sawtelle location, which is approximately the size of a broom closet and has foolish lines all the time.
I visited this Yogurtland tonight around 10pm, and it was fairly busy, but the line certainly didn't extend out the door or anything like that. For my frozen concoction, I went with Vanilla Wafer and Double Cookies & Cream with Ghirardelli Caramel and Chocolate on top. It was sweet, creamy, delicious, and a damn good buy at $3.50.
Unfortunately, I can't go with five stars because (A) they were stingy with the sample cups and (B) I don't like the layout of Yogurtland, particularly how you are funneled past the yogurt and to the toppings in a linear fashion. You see, the mark of a true frozen yogurt professional is layering... If only they removed those glass barriers I could go back and forth and back and forth between yogurt and toppings all day long. But, then again, my yogurt would probably have cost $8, so maybe it's for my own good.
My friend says she likes Yogurtland better than Pinkberry. So after indulging my Pinkberry needs we went to Yogurtland. They have a gazillion different froyo flavors, and an equally enormous amount of topping choices.
I must've eaten half my weight of froyo samples, trying to figure out what flavors to get. I complained to my friend that all the flavors are non-fat. What's with that? I love yummy, creamy fat. She says, "You want fat, you can have some of this" as she points to her hips.
Ummm... ahhh.... so I tell her hey she looks damn good for having 3 kids. I would be so lucky if the future mother of my future 3-5 kids looks that good.
Damn I'm a fast thinker sometimes. Note to self, do not talk about yummy, creamy fat in front of women.
This place has so many flavors and so many topping choices. It's full most of the time with happy customers. The only problem I see is parking. It is in the Little Tokyo area in Downtown and the closest parking is either street. There is a Staples parking lot but the security is very tight. I still like Pinkberry better but this is definitely one of my options if I want something different once in a while.
*Price = good
*Flavors = so many!
*Decor = typical frozen yogurt decor
*Service = there are none since it is all self-serve
This place is successful for a reason...compared to millions of other yogurt places. Price and selection. I also like seeing new flavors every so often. As far as taste goes between plethora of other brands...I don't know, but they all taste same to me.....Pink Berry, Tuttie Fruitie(is that right spelling?), ce Fiore, etc....other than different flavors, of course. Some people with extra sensory on their taste palette can tell the difference...not me. Anyhow, whenever I'm paying, I'm always pleasantly surprised at the low price.
Yogurtland is the best frozen yogurt that has ever touched these lips. I thought I was cool when I fell in love with pink berry especially before my friends were on the frozen yogurt train. But now I know that all pink berry did was prep me for what would eventually become my all time favorite dessert spot!! So for that I thank you pink berry and bid you adeiu.
Yogurtland how do I love thee, let me count the ways. I love thee and thy multitude of flavors @ least 10 but Im sure there are more. I love thy abundance of sample cups that you never allow me to feel ashamed of asking for. I love thy sizes, large and larger. And though I scorn at them I always find room in my stomach to eat all of it. And lastly your prices never leave me feeling taken advantaged of.
So, yogurtland, when Im downtown and I mean anywhere downtown and my friends ask me what there is to eat YOGURTLAND will be the only word uttered from these lips.
I'm a fan :D AND this is pretty much as good as it gets!
I've yet to try any self serve yogurt places in SoCal before I came to Yogurtland. It was worth it here. Self serve is amazing and dangerous all at the same time. I like how you're never limited to how the high schooler behind the counter puts together your yogurt, yet there are times you get to the counter and wish you didn't go for that last spurt of peach yogurt. Putting together the perfect combination becomes an art form itself so don't mess it up!
I could give them 5 stars just for the pistachio, but really the whole self serve deal, ALL their flavor choices, and their toppings equals 5 stars altogether.
My cousin took us to this location and I just found out there's one near my school next year! Wooooo yogurt every day and night!
Okay, I admit it. I am a yogurt snob.
I'm pretty shocked that this Yogurtland has an overall 4.5 stars! What?! Okay, maybe it's a little better than Pinkberry but I don't think it's THAT great. Yeah, they have a lot of different flavors and it's self-serve, but I didn't think it tasted that great. Even the strawberries didn't seem like REAL, fresh-cut strawberries. They were all soggy and syrupy like they came from a jar or something!
The one good thing about this place is that there's a parking lot that you can park in for free, and their plastic spoons are cute and biodegradable. Other than that, the yogurt here is pretty mediocre. I still think Yogurtree in Studio City has the best fro-yo and toppings by far.
I haven't been to Yogurtland in a long time.. Makes me appreciate this place because all the other places, Pinkberry, Red Mango and alike are just not that good. The good thing is that it's $0.30/ounce.
Here's the flavors I had:
Pistachio: great
Toasted Coconut: okay
Taro: great but could use more flavor
Peanut Butter: good, i thought it would be overpowering
Vanilla Wafter Cookies n Cream: awsome and best tasting.

BUCKET
of Yogurt. You pick from about 13 flavors and mix it up like crazy.
TOPPINGS
Lots of 'em! It's at the end of the line so leave a big hole or run back and forth. :)
PRICE!
Cheap!
SUSHI
Bomb @ss and next door!
I need parking!
Gawd, I refuse to pay for every 20 mins in the damn garage, I'll just park here. What do I need to buy here?
Ok, yogurt... I've always been a fan of eating dessert before dinner.
Sweet.
Self serve, huh? Neat.
What the...?
They have taro? How random.
I ended up grabbing the next 5 handles for fun and got small bits of each, booting some taste-testing 5 year old out of the way in the process.
Sorry, cutie, got a little zealous.
I ignored the toppings, save for some fruit, and paid my 3.50.
After coming home and reading yelp, I learned that the spoon was re-usable! how am i an idiot that i didn't recognize that the spoon was a decent quality. Me, who works in the plastics industry, didn't pay attention..
I hate wasting plastics, and it kills me when businesses use more material than necessary and fail to recycle it. that's what the -1 star is for.
i wont even deduct due to the fact my car died in the parking lot, i got in a fight with my boyfriend and it was a hot as hell day...the froyo was my only savior!
i dont remember my first pay by weight froyo place, but ever since i experienced it a few years ago i have been waiting for it to catch on! finally, they are everywhere...yay!
yogurtland has awesome flavors and i got a mix of 4, plus the cheesecake, coconut , mochi, strawberry, kiwi, mango and peach toppings. mmm. i love diy yogurt cuz you can make it so every bite of yougurt has a bite of topping all the way down to the bottom of the cup.
i also love that the fruit is fresh and not some weird compote saucy goo that was the only fruit option available from when i was eating at penguins after going to warehouse music in the late 80s/early 90s until now...
and, they have awesome biodegradable spoons! i have always been a golden spoon fan and part of the fun was the golden spoon itself so i am glad i have a new spoon to look forward to.
tonite my plan is to go to yogurtland and then hit bar 107 and down and out. woooohoo!
ps. i hate pinkberry. i hate their flavors. i hate their prices. i hate that they skimp. thank god yogurtland is taking over the scene!
I'm gonna start off by saying that I am a HUGE fan of Pinkberry... No one else's original tart frozen yogurt can even compare to the perfection of the mix of tartness and sweetness that Pinkberry delivers.
BUT, with that being said, Yogurtland comes at a close second after Pinkberry. I love the price, and the fact that you can get as much (or as little) of everything that you want since it's self-serve. You can mix flavors, layer toppings, etc. AND, it's perfect for people who don't like the "tartness" of some flavors since they offer a variety of "non-tart" (or, in my words, "ice cream-like") options.
Personally, I like to have a layer of plain tart yogurt at the bottom, then a layer of mochi, a layer of strawberry tart yogurt, another layer of plain tart, then strawberries, and MORE mochi on top. Yum!
My only complaint is that their mochi is usually mushy because it's not kept refrigerated as it should be. I guess that inevitable since they have to keep all the toppings out for people to serve themselves. But, in my opinion, mochi is best when it's refrigerated and a little firm.
4-stars for Yogurtland - I always come back for more (plus, it's closer and more convenient than Pinkberry)! =)
P.S. Several months ago (I believe), I got a free Yogurtland t-shirt from this location for purchasing a $10 gift card!
P.P.S. If it's your first time, walk over to the front of the line and ask for little sample cups to try several different flavors.
I simply LOVE this place !
The yougurt is delicious .. and nonfat making it simply perfect .
This place is self - serve , delicous toppings .. like cheesecake bites ( so much for the nonfat -haha)
You can try all the flavors before making a final decision .. I always end up getting at least three - the cheesecake , tart and blueberry tart which I cover with blueberries , strawberries and coconut flake - hmmm... seriously indulgent while getting those healthy antioxidants .
Yougurtland is super neat and clean , the people who work there are always smiling .. super nice .. and the price is very reasonable ..in comparison to other local places ..
Yummy!!! can't wait to go there again !
After gorging on dim sum, we came to Little Tokyo for some Starbucks. But, this place created a diversion for my daughter and she begged me to come in here, saying that her friends told her it was way better than Pinkberry. I obliged, as I usually do when it comes to food.
We walk in and the place is packed! I stood there for a minute wondering what to do since I've never experienced it. Saw the long line and the self serve stations of yogurt and figured out we are supposed to get it ourselves.
We get in the line and it's barely moving. I'm wondering what is taking so long considering all you have to do is pick your flavor(s) of froyo, load up on toppings, weigh it, pay and enjoy. Wth. Originally, I wasn't going to get anything, but I saw TARO froyo and HAD to get some. It was so worth it though.
I got vanilla, cookies and cream and taro. All I can remember is the taro had the best flavor, sweet without being overly sweet. My toppings were kinda off since I added kiwi, mango and chocolate sprinkles. None of it really tasted well with the taro. Maybe next time I will just get plain taro with mochi.
Oh, the price was great. 30 cents an ounce. Total for K and I was $5.59. What better way to cap off a greasy meal than with a frozen, inexpensive treat. Pinkberry can kiss it.
*PIX*- http://pandaliciousfor...
What the FUCK, Yogurtland?
How dare you make me fall in-fucking-love with you after years of scorn for the froyo craze. And you couldn't just stop with 193284 flavors of heavenly self-serve frozen yogurt. No, no. You had to woo me with 402492134514 different toppings, too?
God damn you.
The consistency of Yogurtland's yogurt is comparable to Pinkberry and not icy like Ce Fiore but not as creamy as Red Mango. Get it got it good.
The variety of flavors is what makes this place fun! Squeeze and Scoop has nothing on this place. Pistachio, peanut butter, vanilla wafer, taro...YUM! The flavors are so unique and the taste is not too sweet or overpowering.
The toppings at this Yogurtland never look fresh to me so I usually avoid them (I have given in to my mochi, strawberry, oreo combo once and it just wasn't as good as at Pberry).
Pay by weight and go to town!
Dear Yogurtland,
You must open a location in San Francisco.
Love,
A grateful fan

Move over Baskin-Robbins, this establishment has almost as much flavors. Wow, 30 cents an ounce and with lots of wonderful flavors, how can you not want to take a licking of all the flavors. This self-serve yogurt establishment is pretty efficient. You pickup a cup size, move through and load up as much as you want at each flavor station, then ask for the toppings you want from the server behind the counter. I went for four fruit flavors; mango, strawberry, tart pineapple, and tart blueberry layering each side by side and topping it all with mochi. This is a must stop every time I come down to Los Angeles.
There is street parking but may be difficult if this place is busy at night.
The good: More flavors than you can fill in one cup.
The bad: It could be crowded with no seating.
