i love, love, LOVE this place!
definition of awesome: eating vanilla mochi with rainbow sprinkles, warm caramel, and strawberry mochi while watching two cross-dressers fighting...it was like something straight (pardon the pun) outta my wildest dreams!
:D x infinity!

i frickin' love this place!
well, as everyone should know, I LOVE FROZEN YOGURT!
i actually prefer… Read more »
I don't eat frozen yogurt much, so every time I go to Yogurtagogo, it's a treat.
I like everything about it: they always have a non-dairy flavor of yogurt available; it's self-serve so I could get as much or as little as I want and can only blame myself if the tab comes out to be expensive; they offer so many toppings for me to choose from (most importantly, mochi and fruit); and it's very clean.
I'm very happy to have Yogurtagogo in my neighborhood!
Two stars for good selection, clean and nicely lit place with friendly staff...coupled with way overpriced prices even including sometimes OVERCHARGED prices. Over $7.80 for one cup of yogurt that was not even full or even reaching the top of the cup. You could buy a huge chipotle burrito for that and STILL have money left over!
I strongly recommend HeavenLY's as a better alternative. I never go to Yogurtagogo anymore even though it is much closer to where I live than HeavenLY's. Guess this place doesn't mind losing my business though since it seems to just get more and more expensive.
Okay... I'm writing an update because the owner "doesn't know what to think of this." I gave this place three stars because I've been to A LOT of yogurt places(yes, a lot) and simply, I just don't think this place is up to par. Yes, the yogurt is decent, lots of toppings, good ambiance.. blah blah but it simply just isn't worth the price for me. (43/ounce is by far the priciest... most places average around 30 cents per ounce.. with the cheapest I've been to is 25 cents an ounce- when they just opened.)
I appreciate the offer to adjust the price(if that was even the mistake..doubtful, but thanks)... but I live in San Jose. I'm not going to drive up to Sacramento to have a price adjustment of 4-5 dollars unless you want to do it through mail. My opinion still stands, the price of the yogurt isn't the only reason why it's 3 stars.. but for the owner's continuous and aggressive manner of trying to contact me to change my review I suppose I could bump it up to 3.1 stars.

Holy Crap.. $11.00 for 2 cups of yogurt?!
Maybe I'm a little bit spoiled from Bay Area yogurt which… Read more »
This place gets an A for frozen yogurt. As I'm not a toppings whore (maybe I'm a purist?), the excessive amount of toppings they have here isn't really that big of a deal to me. It is, however, an interesting concept to me to do it by weight, as the places in DC for frozen yogurt were a standard fixed price/size (and it was generally $1 more per topping, which is outrageous and stupid). That seems to be the fashion out here though, so nothing too special.
As for the yogurt, had the mango and european tart with a little bit of vanilla. It was great. I don't know though, nothing blew me away from this place enough to give it five stars.
I've taken pretty much everyone I know to this Yogurt Shop and they love it!!
The non-dairy Pineapple is to die for. I won't even tell you that I drove around for 25 minutes, and walked 8 blocks one night just to get it.
It is a tad pricier than other Yogurt shops, but it's worth it! It's *REAL* Yogurt.
I can't wait for the Pumpkin Flavor coming out 10/21/09. Since everyone knows I'm a big freak for anything Pumpkin flavored.
Pros: Great Toppings, Fresh Fruit.
Cons: I'm getting fat eating there.
Love those crystal ball lights. Adds just the touch of class and uniqueness to the place!
The yogurt goes along with the ambiance: classy, elegant and expensive. Sure you may pay less somewhere else, but with all of us (well at least ME) counting calories these days, don't you want to make your calories count? I would rather pay more and have a smaller portion of something high quality than cheap filler.
The flavors they featured when I went were:
Classic tart
Vanilla
Chocolate
Acai berry
Pomegranate/raspberry
Taro
...and there may have been something else? I don't remember!
I don't recall the price per ounce, other reviewers noted it. I just recall being a bit taken aback when the total came to nearly $12 for three yogurts, and they weren't huge either. But it was worth it!
The toppings are not wall-to-wall like some places, but really do you want mini jawbreakers and gummy sharks on your yogurt? Yogurtagogo offered lots of fresh fruit and also three types of mochi: strawberry, lemon and plain. All were good and fresh. Methinks perhaps Osaka Ya is the provider?
Being from the 'burbs, it was refreshing to sit outside and do some pedestrian-watching. I love a walkable community.
I read about the .25 surcharge for using credit/debit cards. Not sure if this has been cleared up or is just a vicious rumor. If this is true, there should at least be a sign notifying customers about the extra fee. I'm all about consumer rights.
-- Update 9/7/09 -- I was informed by the owner that the surcharge has since been removed! Hence, there was no sign because there was no need for a sign.
It is great to frequent a business that is not a chain and focuses on quality. I have since upgraded to five stars.
Went to Yogurtagogo for the first time this week. I had tart & pineapple, topped with fresh bananas, strawberries, and all the flavors of mochi they had. It was great!
Great atmosphere. The place was trendy and most importantly, clean.
A little pricey for my liking, but the quality of the yogurt makes up for it. I'm willing to pay the 43 cents per ounce since the yogurt tasted that good.
The only thing preventing this from being a 5 star review was parking. Unfortunately there's no lot, so you have to park out on the street. And we all know that it's not always the easiest!
This place is amazing!!!! I went in a couple of days ago and I am officially addicted :] The yogurt was delicious with a great selection of flavors and yummy toppings. Helpful staff, SUPER clean environment, and delicious yogurt... A+!!!
I've tried mochii yogurt, top culture & the new yummy yogurt @ the dt mall.. also yogurt monkey.. and NONE beat the glory that is yogurt a go go!
I came today to get my favorite tart flavor and discovered they had TARO flavor! I almost died, taro is one of my favorites. I mixed it with tart and I swear I had a mouthgasm. Sooooo gooood! Especially all the delicious fresh fruits they have. I love them because they remind me so much of pinkberry, except I must admit... self serve is a lot more awesome!
Best frozen yogurt in downtown SAC! Great variety of toppings and they have seasonal flavors of frozen yogurt such as pumpkin. YUM!
very very very good but they just seem WAY more expensive than the other yogurt places around . hmmmm
get some mochi on your yogurt , delish
Good:
1. Clean
2. Self Serve
3. Nice ambiance/ decor / comfortable seating
4. Reasonable price
5. Yogurt is smooth / consistent
6. Great selection of toppings (fresh fruit / several kinds of mochi)
Bad: None.
Probably the best yogurt place you can find in Sacramento!
Delicious. It's that simple.
A bit pricey, but if you like tart yogurts, it's completely worth it. My favorite is the original tart, with strawberries, blueberries, and oreo cookies as toppings. Great way to fill up AND eat healthy.
They even have punch cards (buy 10 yogurts at least 8oz and get the next 8oz free) and t-shirts on the website, like their employees.
I think their employees can be arrogant sometimes, but other than that and the expensive price per oz, it's one of the best yogurt places I've been to.
Great neighborhood to take a walk in too. Parking isn't the best, considering it's Midtown, but usually I find a spot around K and 21st. The three block walk is worth it.
This place is great so fresh! unlike all these other places their fruit is actaully just cut and fresh my fav IS TART or the rasberry . it does get pricey i might add but its worth it
it doesent get 5 because the price
Awesome and Amazing!
I love this place. It does run more money then some other yogurt places but it's natural and not made from a bunch of junk. I love, love, love the original. It tastes like yogurt... go figure. I always taste every single flavor they have evey time before I decide and I still always go back to original. It is not too sweet and remings me of a greek style palete clenser. It's just yummy, especially with some fresh plump berries. They have the best berries too.
Probably one of the modern, chic, and clean self-serve fro-yo places I've been to. That's what attracted us when walking by this place during 2nd Saturday.
The tart flavors were tart to my liking.
None of the canned, syrup-infused fruit toppings. Fresh fruits is the way to go.
Minus one star because it was on the pricier end...I only wanted to taste and wasn't greedy, but still ended up paying ~$3.50 for the small amount I got.
We went here today because we were in town and we're always looking for non-dairy (vegan) frozen yogurt. They had one non-dairy flavour, which was pineapple. It was pretty tasty, though I would have preferred the normal tart plain flavour. The toppings bar was nice and they had a pretty good selection of stuff. (We went for blueberries and strawberries.) I would probably go there again, and I really appreciate the vegan option, but it didn't blow my mind.
Yogurtagogo is quite possibly the best place to eat yogurt. Located in downtown it i near several different eateries. The ambiance is very esthetically pleasing it kind of reminds me of Pink Berry in SoCal with it's hip urban nuances.
One thing I like about this compared to other places like mochii is that you can make your own creation. Choosing from a plethora of flavors, and several toppings, which include Fresh Fruit!!!, crereal, chocolately items, delicious mochii, and various other toppings you would typically find in a yogurt shop.
I decided to Try Mango, Pineapple, and raspberry pomegranate. I then piled various flavors of mochii, and fresh fruit on it. Initially I was a little skeptical about how good this place is, but when I took my first bite it was like a fruity explosion of flavor in my mouth. in comparison to other yogurt shops around Sacramento this is by far the closest to my all time favorite place Pink Berry. It's a must try on a hot Summer Day.
Hi, my name is Kristin and I'm a frozen yogurt addict. HIIIIII KRISTIN!
If loving you is wrong, fro-yo, I don't want to be right. I absolutly adore this place. The cups provided are big enough to fit my roommate, Zach's head in...and trust me, it's huge. (That's what she said) I'm told it so you can put whatever you want in the cup without it overflowing, I was told this after I assumed the large cup was a "get out of fat farm free" pass to have as much as I want. Fortunatly, it's made from real yogurt. Like they opened 1,000 yopailts and said "have at it!" They also provide everything from nuts to kiwi to decorate the top of your yogurt mountain....uh I mean "serving."
I highly recommend the irish mint with blackberries and almonds. Enjoy!
This is the best frozen yogurt place! Especially with in the new frozen yogurt self serve phase going on! I like that they dont have a million types of candy on the wall to choose from. Just a few flavors and fresh fruit. Its simple and concise. I have also found the best creation! Try the non dairy vanilla with strawberries, bananas and granola. SOOO good. The staff is friendly and they offer one of those punch cards! I will say that they might be a teeny bit pricer than other places, but well worth it. The little patio is a nice place to sit and read the News and Review. I dont even bother going anywhere else for frozen yogurt! If this place closed I would die!
I had the raspberry pomegranate tart yogurt topped with strawberries, blueberries, cap'n crunch, and strawberry mochi
Pros: Delicious! Very good consistency - creamy but icy! Subtle flavor - did not taste artificial. Their mochi was tasty but a bit too soft
Cons: Very pricey at 43 cents/oz. Their yogurt left a strange film on my tongue
I will definitely return! Currently ranks in my top 5 froyo shops! Too bad I live so far!
Frozen yogurt (street slang: "FroYo", or simply "Fro" to the hardcore users) isn't hard to come by around Sacramento. It seems like every street corner has a yogurt peddler rearing his ugly head, beckoning your sweet tooth to fall off the wagon and lay waste to all those weeks of desperately attempting a cold turkey quit. It's a dark world we live in.
In my travels, I have made my way through many a yogurt den and fro house. For my money, Yogurt A Go Go is the finest in town. Quality, pure grain yogurt that seems to have a little more class to it than other places around Sac. It's got a wide variety of fresh fruit toppings, but a limited candy selection. Plus it may be a bit pricier than other places. But if cheap fro and pounds of candy is the way you roll, feel free to go slum it up at Big Spoon or the like. Your kind aren't welcome here.
If you're a fine, upstanding member of society who can appreciate a fine cup of fro, then hit this place up.
Millions of mochi! OK, not really, but there are three flavors at this self-serve yogurt shop. The cups are slightly gigantic so I'm pretty much forced to get huge portions (eyes get bigger than the stomach...) and sometimes I'm a little achey after, but it's a good ache. Yogurt is tasty (and many flavors to choose from!), fruit is pretty, and sugary snacks are ... sugary! The place is super clean and all the toppings are in their respective containers, unlike other places where you can't figure out which is oreo and which is gummy bears.
It's pricier per ounce than any other self-serve yogurt places in the area, but the cleanliness and selection make it a favorite. The punch card is a great incentive, too.
Yogurtagogo is THE BEST frozen yogurt in Sac! Big Spoon needs to close up shop or take notes! The owners are always friendly, it's always clean and their employees are great too.
I wish they'd open another location because honestly the only negative is parking. That's why if you don't want to sit inside relaxing enjoying your yummy snack, company and atmosphere it's good to tag team. One person drives the other hops out and gets the goods! Ahhh yeah!
I've been here twice now and I do admit, the yogurt is really good. I feel like you can tell the quality is better than other places and I at least feel better knowing there really are live cultures. I also appreciate the vegan option. Though you pay for that quality. And I wish there was a little bit more indoor seating since it's usually busy.
I love this place something ridiculous. All I asked for on my Christmas list was gift cards to this place. What I learned is that $50 will get me exactly 11 yogurt concoctions if I use the punch card for the cost of the 11th one.
I do miss the mango flavor, but they usually have the raspberry-pomegranate, which were always the two flavors I debated between...so now my yogurt is easier to choose between. Not that you have to do any choosing here....you can make whatever you want....and trust me, it will fit in their uber-large bowls!
And the have mochi in plain, raspberry and strawberry flavors. The other downside (which I refuse to take stars away for) is that there is some inconsistencies in what fruit they put out each day. So just don't go there craving some bananas, cuz you might have to settle for strawberries.
Yum!
I ended up walking by this place like 3 times and I had to stop in. It has a very chic modern interior with lounge furniture.
On to the yogurt! Very yummy! Actually I think I go to the yogurt places for the toppings more than for the actual yogurt. Don't get me wrong, yogurt is good and good for you but it's all about the toppings!!!
Any place that has the flavored mochi or mochi in general scores high with me. This particular place even has the flavored jelly that you can get in place of the tapioca balls when you get pearl drinks. Awesome! I was even able to get a lid for the car ride home. How practical!
Nice retreat after Bistro 33 fiasco (see review)
Here's the 411.
The yogurt is good. I would say the Tart (my preference) similar to Pinkberry or Yogurtland.
Pro: Nice interior. Clean.
Con: $0.43 per ounce. Compared with most places which are around $0.30 definitely pricier. A medium with toppings costs about $6 most other self-serve places $4-5. I guess you're paying for that nice white chair.
oh my god i want some right now. im almost willing to drive 25 mins to go get some hehehe. i love it most amazing place ever
AMAZING!
everyone in here is so friendly -- the FroYo is always fresh & cool, the price is just right too!
the place is clean, and ingredients (they have fruit toppings) seem fresh and well-selected.
some people complain about the price, but I think they're wrong -- I'd gladly pay for the type of service I get there, the quality of the product, and fresh fruit.
A+
Oh Yogurtagogo, you would have been a 4 star at least, and then Mochii entered my life and you just don't size up anymore.... sorry, we had some good times, but I am afraid it is time that we part ways.
I came back again, but Strawberry was no longer in season. Peppermint (non-tart) was a lovely replacement. After my first sample of this new flavor, it tasted deliciously smooth and refresing, but luckily I only chose to get a little bit. Too much just makes it taste like I'm eating toothpaste. Original is always a safe alternative, so I got most of the original and a little bit of pom/raspberry, added some raspberries(didn't look that fresh today, smushed), blackberries, and strawberry mochi. No blueberries that day, but toppings were constantly being refilled. I think mango tart was another flavor that day, along with chocolate. These two didn't particularly tickle my taste buds.
P.S. They sell GoGoGear (aka T-shirts with Yogurtagogo logos on them). I found out on their web site that they have group discounts (from 5-20+ people, you can get a % discount depending on the amount in your party). They also deliver yogurt (20-50+ people) and they have an option to have birthday parties for kids here. I still wish they had the strawberry flavored fro-yo, please bring it back soon!

Several months, and several Yogurtagogo punch cards later, I've developed an unhealthy love for this shop. While I essentially get the same yogurt and toppings every time--tart yogurt, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, yogurt chips, and brownies--I appreciate the variety they offer. I heard the workerbee tell a customer that they always carry at least one non-dairy yogurt for those who can't tolerate the milk proteins (poor souls). But vegans might also find that useful.
Sure, the price is slightly higher, but if you are honest with yourself you probably don't need your yogurt cup filled to the brim. Cut back a tiny bit on the piled on toppings and you probably won't notice the difference.

Yum. Probably the best selection of yogurt and toppings of the froyo places in Sacramento.… Read more »
If frozen yogurt joints were U.S. Presidents, Yogurtagogo would be Baberaham Lincoln. I've only known Gogo for a few months now, but I've already shunned my other loves, Big Spoon and Mochii included, to become a fro-yo monogamist.
Here's the thing. Big Spoon rocks because of the self-serve factor, and Mochii gained popularity with its fresh fruit offerings. So, duh, of course someone was smart enough to come along and combine the best of both worlds under one roof, located in the heart of midtown.
Here's another thing. I'm just going to serve it up without any sugar-coating. Be prepared to put down some cash here. I decided I probably spend as much on monthly yogurt as I do on my cell phone bill. The containers come in one size only: mamba jamba. And because 'gogo assumes the guise of "healthy," it's easy to get a bunch of yogurt, then cover it all up with blueberries, bananas and granola and believe you're doing yourself a favor. My purchases tend to weigh in at an average of 6 dollars, but they're so worth it, especially if you opt for yogurt instead of dinner.
The plain, tangy flavor is the best, although I love a few ribbons of the raspberry pomegranate mixed in, topped with chocolate chips, kiwis and raspberries (my friend introduced me to that recipe. It's a winner). Occasionally I'll get a little "crazy" and get chocolate yogurt with strawberries, bananas and peanut butter cups, and the seasonal white chocolate macadamia nut flavor was like sugary buttah, a stand-alone, although it's off the rotation now.
In addition to the delicious concoctions available at Gogo, it's also become quite the see-and-be-scene locale. The covered patio out front overlooks L and 19th streets, otherwise known as the intersection of emaciated Jesus body doubles and Juicy-clad loft-dwellers carrying designer dogs.
The only thing I don't love about this place is the God-awful chandelier they just installed. It gives new meaning to the phrase "blinded by the light." Who picked that thing out? Their yogurt privileges should be revoked.
Cool location, good selection of yogurts and quality toppings. It's super clean and quick to get in and out of. Wish they had more outdoor seating, but it's in a great neighborhood to take a walk so I won't ding them.
I tired Yogurtagogo last night. I had the mix of original (tart) and Raspberry Pom with plain, strawberry, and raspberry mochii. The yogurt itself was ok, I prefer the flavor of Mochii more based on the ones I have tired in Sac. I still like Pinkberry the best overall. The mochii was very tasty, I like the raspberry mochii the best, it was just the right amount of sweetness.
It is self serve which is good if you want a lot of frozen yogurt, but I tend to prefer the ones where the employees fill the cup for you because I tend to go overboard when I serve myself.
You take a cup. Fill it up. Pay.
Simple, no?
Well... deciding what awesome goodness goes in your cup is the hard part.
My mother is a thin, beautiful woman - and part of growing up with a pretty mom meant watching life lived on a perpetual diet. My mom has been doing the frozen yogurt thing since the mid eighties - I remember she used to get frozen yogurt from this place next door to what used to be Bradshaw Athletic Club (now RPM Racing) and later we went to Penguin Yogurt on Fair Oaks.
There has been a second wave of frozen yogurt over the last few years. Pretty much, the allure is the same - yummy, low calorie frozen treats that everyone loves!
There have been 2 major changes to frozen yogurt, however, since I was a kid:
1. The introduction of the tart - a fresh tasting and even healthier version of frozen yogurt! So addictive and delicious! It tastes great with fresh fruit and mochii, too and these have added a new twist to the world of iced confections.
2. The "pay by the weight" method. This, and this alone has contributed to the exponential increase of frozen yogurt shops - these guys are making a killing! Back in the day, you had 4 sizes (S, M, L & XL), each size had a cost associated with it, and each topping had a cost. The profit margin was fairly stable.
Now with the pay by the weight method, it is pretty easy to walk out of the store with a $12 cup of yogurt! Holy Moley! And Yogurt-a-go-go figured out an even more brilliant way to increase profits, which is offer only one big ass cup....of course you end up filling it up with more yogurt then you would have if you grabbed a smaller cup!
With that being said, I am stoked they have a yogurt joint close to my house and when I have a hankering for frozen yogurt, cost is not an issue! Also, the space is really cute and if I had nice, prim and proper friends I could definitely see us hanging out there. Unfortunately, most of my friends would laugh in my face if I suggested we go hang out at a frozen yogurt shop but what can I say, my friends are assholes. Birds of a feather, I guess....
Sacramento area is starting to get on the fro-yo train. More of these places is popping up. After dinner at BANDERA, I planned on coming here for dessert since it wasn't that far away. Place was pretty packed on a Wednesday night around 930 or so.
Self served at $0.43 per ounce is actually quite expensive especially if the location is anywhere but SF/LA/NY. They have 6 flavors daily including Original, Mango, STRAWBERRY, Chocolate, Vanilla, and blueberry.
Sample cups are given so try as much as you want before you make your choice in the BIG cup! My favorite had to be the strawberry! It tasted different compared to all the other strawberry flavored ones I've tried before and probably the best. VERY good strawberry flavor and if you like those strawberry flavor POCKY sticks, you'll love this. Original was also nice. A little icy but not too tart. Mango was not yummy. Tasted awkward!
Toppings! Man, they have flavored MOCHii!!! Big CHUNKS of them too! Strawberry, Raspberry, and Original... Both the flavored MOCHii were good. You can taste it without tasting only the rice flour on the outside.
Service was OK but the price was just expensive. I hardly had much but it cost just under $5!
