Fro-yo girl here. Surprisingly good, Yogizmo is my pick for the best fro-yo in the Santa Cruz area. Fro-yo comes in a cup or mix-in style, aka "Infuzions." With Infuzions, you pick a base (fro-yo, soy, or ice cream) and fruit. The base and fruit are put through a mix in machine. They had about 2 dozen dry toppings, including organic granola, nuts, candy, and several types of honey. The honey is complimentary. Fresh fruit toppings (average number) are available but mochi balls are not. Cups and spoons are compostable.
Flavors of the day:
* Chocolate
* Vanilla
* Coffee
* Plain tart: At first it seemed too sweet for a tart fro-yo but it grew on me because of the excellent, smooth, firm, creamy, dense texture and a pleasant tangy, milky flavor
Prices for fro-yo in a cup: S ($2.50)/ M ($3.50)/ L ($4.50)
They also carry Santa Cruz's own Marianne's ice cream, smoothies, and milkshakes. It's a kid-friendly place with a kid's table and candy for sale (e.g., Haribo gummy candy, Pez). Pictures of customers with their fro-yo adorn the wall.
There was no mention of a frequent buyer card but students get a 15% discount.
You know you love me. X0 X0, fro-yo girl.
Great ice cream selection and you really need to try ice cream that's been put through the yogizmo machine. First of all, you wind up getting what looks like MORE ice cream if it's been "yogizmo'd" but you also get the choice of adding in some rather fabulous fruits and other toppings.
My only complaint is that service can be a bit slow...so be prepared to wait. They have a bunch of games and a small table for children to keep them occupied while you wait for your turn. There's also a selection of imported candy that aren't priced too outrageously.
As totally cheesy as the name is, as well as the word "infrusion", I can't wait to go back here. What you have to do is get a yogurt (I suggest tart), and a fruit (I did raspberry). They put it through the gizmo, and it comes out like a soft-serve with the flavor of the fruit you picked. It tasted better than just getting tart raspberry, because the fruit was fresh, and it tasted better than tart yogurt with raspberries on top because it was all mixed in. Then I also added a chocolate chip topping, which didn't hurt at all!
In celebration of Memorial day and their 2nd Anniversary...
Free Pacific cookie company cookie with a purchase... YUMMY!
I sure got mines! Chocolate froyo and a cookie, damn straight I was dipping my cookie in that creamy cool goodness!
Happy 2nd Year Yogizmo! 2nd location opening soon on Mission (Santa Cruz)

After going to RM... I'm a fan for Yogizmo! Power to small family businesses who actually care about… Read more »
I love yogizmo. Best topping selection in Santa Cruz County. I recommend the infrusion.
Only yogurt in SV, and not bad. The place is set up for little kids (like, toddlers). They don't have many options of yogurt, but they do have this blendy thing to mix toppings into your yogurt.
The place was clean, the tart was decent. Overall, a solid 3 star froyo.
Spendy pricing is a bummer.
I was lame and only got a scoop of Marianne's icecream (small scoop, almost 3 dollars...) but the service was really great. The guy definitely liked his job and was obviously friends with his coworker so it made for a comfortable atmosphere. I didn't really know what to do so i didn't get my own flavor yogurt but I have heard pretty good things about it. There are going to be 5, I repeat, 5 frozen yogurt places in SC by the time summer comes around. Ridiculous
So my friend and I have been looking everywhere around Santa Cruz for a place that serves frozen yogurt, and not just any frozen yogurt: the TART-flavored one! (similar to pinkberry, yogurtland, etc)
I have been there twice so far and both workers were super friendly! (not to mention they automatically give you the student discount)
Both times, I have gotten the plain (tart)- flavored yogurt with a different fruit topping. (They also have variety of nuts, cereal, granola, and candy toppings). I like my yogurt plain and simple. With the plain yogurt, it is no too overwhelming and tastes healthier.
They also have a "gizmo machine" that seems pretty neat where they put in a yogurt of your choice and a fruit topping of your choice and blend them together. I havent tried it but I saw someone order it. Seems tasty, but I think for now, I am just going to stick to my plain yogurt!
The yogurt definitely fulfilled my cravings and now I'm glad I don't have to drive all the way to San Jose for something like this!
Thick, rich and creamy is a good way to describe Yogizmo yogurt. My eyes were definitely larger than my stomach when I ordered a large plain with mango, strawberry and fruity pebbles for $5.95. I ordered a large thinking that I'll get enough to satisfy me (I'm no stranger to ordering the largest yogurt size from Pinkberry and happily not sharing it with anyone) but the cup was jam packed full with yogurt. No hollow areas. The guy working there really filled it up and gave it a decent swirl height. Because my cup was filled up (and heavy!), there wasn't a lot of room for my toppings without spillage occurring so I only had a skimpy amount of each. This size would've been easily perfect for 2 people to share.
The yogurt was so smooth, thick and creamy--it reminded me of Willow Glen Frozen Custard in San Jose. The tartness was very light and the yogurt had a clean sweet taste. If the yogurt was just a teeny bit more tart, it would've had the perfect balance of creaminess, sweetness and tartness. No icy yogurt here!
I spent a good 15 minutes eating my yogurt sitting on the bench in front of the shop. Definitely ordering a small next time!
Yogizmo does the fruit/yogurt fusion swirl like Yogen Fruz. Must give this a try in the future.
I absolutely LOVE this place. It is hands down my favorite place to go for frozen yogurt. I love that I can have them add fruit, mix it up and yum yum. It is nice to have that option instead of the usual frozen yogurt selections
I'm addicted to the tart yogurt. It's creamy and just the right amount of tartness. I tend to be a purist and get no toppings-sometimes just a drizzle of honey.
It is a bit expensive but oh well. My kids love the peanut butter flavor. I hope they can make some new tart flavors in addition the the regular tart. I can't see spending extra to use the Gizmo machine to add fruit-maybe they'll do some soft serve tart fruity flavors soon?!
Here's a tip- we were getting a pint of quart to take home and they fill it to the top and cap it, but if you tell them you want to eat it first they'll give you extra swirls on top -just ask for a lid so you can seal it to freeze after you've eaten some.
Yogurt is apparently all the rage lately, so after dinner in Scotts Valley one night I went across the parking lot to this yogurt place. They had a lot of options and the price wasn't bad. I picked out this neato vanilla bean stuff and had them put strawberries on top. It wasn't until after I'd paid that I realized it was ice cream and not frozen yogurt, but darned if that wasn't the best vanilla ice cream I'd ever had.
They were also pretty liberal with the strawberries. Great value and fast service. I will be going there again next time I'm in the area.
I don't care what the other reviewers said, this place deserves 5 stars. Lisa, the owner, helped us today. Perfect for getting a healthy dessert after a tasty meal at Jia Tella's Cambodian Cuisine next door. Here are some of the highlights:
- Best flavored frozen yogurt in all of Santa Cruz County. We've been to yogurt sensations, yogurt delight, yogurt express. They're all varying degrees of "adequate", but only Yogizmo yogurt was so tasty that we didn't have to mask the flavors with sickeningly sweet candy toppings.
- Yogurt is actually weighed, and has "point value" for each size to help out folks on weight watchers. Hey, I think that's pretty considerate and takes some of the pain out of indulging out of the house.
- Yogurt flavors include "original" flavor, much like Pinkberry. Tart, fresh, and delicious. Furthermore, toppings include fresh fruit, and other pinkberry favorites like cap'n crunch and fruity pebbles. Awesome.
- Student discount. Any type of student. 15% off. All the time. Rock.
They've only been open for nine months, but I can't imagine going to the other places after enjoying the yogurt here. Also, they take credit cards. Hah, take THAT, other yogurt places!
I'm with Bradley O. and M.L. on this one.
There's nothing like a little walk from my parents' house to get some yogiz after-dinner (or before-dinner, for that matter) action.
Their plain yogurt is my favorite and has never failed me. It's tart but not sour, and when you add strawberries, granola with flax and honey (today's yogurt combo of the day), you can't go wrong. It's a sweet-but-not-too-sweet dessert.
I just wish Yogizmo had been here like fifteen years ago when my entire social life consisted of riding my bike to Victor Square with my sister and neighbors. Maybe we would have branched out beyond Wendy's frosties and Zannotto's (the SV Market used to be Zannotto's) ice cream pints - and saved ourselves some calories in the process. Oh well...
I haven't tried their yogizmo yogurt yet.. but I love the name!
Came here when I had an urge for yogurt. Yogurt was good and creamy. I had chocolate and peanut butter. They were both non-fat flavors, but didn't taste it.
Will definitely be coming here more often since it's right down the street from the house =)
Best frozen yogurt in the greater Santa Cruz area. Love this place!
This place was a nice find in scotts valley! it was unexpected to find tart yogurt that could almost compare to pinkberry. its the same idea. tart yogurt + fruit toppings = delicious & refreshing treat!
The owner is such a sweetheart, and you can tell she has put a lot into the store, to get it to how it is! You can make a frequent account, that is tracked through the computer, so no messy cards involved. just a 5 digit number and a name!
the yogurt here is delicious. it's thick and creamy. they offer student discounts which make the yogurt at a reasonable price for the amount of yogurt they give you per serving.
my favorite is vanilla yogurt with pineapple and raspberry. instead of receiving all content individually in one cup, they use this machine to combine and mix all toppings. it really balances out all the taste in each bite! no other yogurt place i've been to has this invention. it's really creative.
the service is great. they're there to help you out in what you want if needed.
They have good tart yogurt and other flavors. Toppings are fresh and there is a good selection.
'A-OK'
i work in this area now so its great to have this fro yo place down the street.
Overall, it isnt bad. the consistency of the fro yo was a little different.. it was more airy or like buttercream... its wasnt icy or milky...
I really like how they offer the smallest servings with the points... weight watchers i assume.
ok.. so what set this fro yo place apart from others?
they offer nutella as a topping. how crazy is that!
imagine having gooey hazel-nutty chocolate on your fro yo swirl.. it pretty much freezes up and hardens a little bit.
de-lish.
alright.. so you have that picture in your head?
now imagine me swerving down the hill.. down highway 17 to SJ.. one hand is on the steering wheel and another scooping some fro yo nutella into my mouth..
oooohhh
if i die on this road.. at least my last meal was fro yo with nutella. :P
Love this place.
Stupidly expensive. But being that their target market is made up primarily of house wives and high school kids with more allowance then they know what to do with, who can blame them for charging $5 for a bland 12 oz smoothie?
However, despite their prices, it is exciting to finally have somewhere in the valley to quench my ever insatiable craving for froyo. They're doing the whole fresh fruit and plain tart yogurt Pink Berry copycat thing which they jazz up with "the Gizmo." All "the Gizmo" means is that if you so choose you can have them throw your froyo into a blender like thing with the toppings so its all mixed together. A dramatic title for such a mainstream gadget in my opinion, but whatever, makes the whole yogurt experience that much more fun! They also carry Marianne's ice cream, which is Santa Cruz's equivalent to Mitchell's, if you're really feeling indulgent.
Yogizmo is a godsend. Finally somewhere to get a cold refreshing low calorie snack in the sauna that is Scott's Valley.
Minus one star for the outrageous prices and another star for not being there in high school when I needed it....
Bad value. The trademark Infruzion is a novel idea of fusing fruits with yogurt or ice cream but it is ridiculously priced for the quantity served. You're better served just grabbing a fruity flavored yogurt elsewhere.
I live in San Jose and I wished there was a frozen yogurt place like Yogizmo on my side of the hill. I am a huge fan of tart yogurt and theirs is very tasty. My favorite thing is the fruzions. You take a base- ice cream, for me tart frozen yogurt, and add whatever fruit you would like (my favorite is raspberries and strawberries), and this machine mixes it all up for you. It's delicious! I would have to say it is one of the tastiest treats I have ever had. I guess its a good thing I don't live right next to Yogizmo or I might go there too often. I have also had a swirl of the vanilla and chocolate frozen yogurt when I was craving something super sweet, and that was great also. The prices are good, the treats are high quality, and each time I have been there the service has been good.
I hate yogurt. It took about all my friends energy to get me to try this frozen yogurt, as I was sure I was hate it as well. Oh, how wrong I was. This place is delicious. The people are friendly, the proportions generous (I recommend the small), and the yogurt delicious. I haven't tried the tart plain yogurt, as I don't like regular yogurt so I don't see why I would like it frozen. My friends have, though, and they love it. I usually order the Coffee flavor with Oreo. Unfortunately I've found that Coffee is only available on fridays, so whenever I find myself there on any other day I get a vanilla with strawberries, mini meringues, and oreo. DELICIOUS! GO GOGO!
i LOVE Yogizmo! the plain yogurt tastes soo good when you add fresh mangoes and honey to it...yummmm. It's tart but not too tart and not too sweet. The prices are ok...i think it's a better buy to take home a quart. Way better than any other froyo I've had in San Jose. When I first discovered this place, we drove several times a week over the hill just so I could get my fix. We haven't stopped by in a month or so but can't wait to have it again!
