I am fairly new to yoga, but have had nothing but good experiences at YogaSole. I've taken classes on many different nights with many different teachers and have found the classes to be both challenging and relaxing. Every teacher is a little different and I never know what to expect, but that's one of the reasons I enjoy practicing here so much. I've primarily taken the 7:55p Gentle Flow classes on weeknights found all the teachers to be hands-on and helpful, conscious of limitations, but always pushing students to go a little further.
I too have found the prices to be fairly reasonable, especially in regards to the ten-class pass which is $135 for three months. I generally head to yoga two to three times a week, so this works perfectly for me. I also appreciate the $1 mat rental, as I have purchased my own yet. -

After having been to a good number of cramped and dark yoga studios with practically no natural light, it was refreshing to practice in such a bright and airy space. You can hear the birds chirping in the trees as you practice.
I took one open class with Roman and an open class with Lia. Roman's style is pretty different from what I've experienced so far. I lean towards the beginner side of the spectrum and sometimes felt a little left out in his class because I couldn't follow some of the higher level asanas, but overall he was a good teacher. I feel like I got a lot more out of Lia's class, both in terms of instructions and the sequence of asanas we went through.
In terms of location, if you live in Manhattan like I do, its a bit of a trek. But if you want to get away from the noise in the city and practice somewhere quiet and peaceful, this is worth the trip.Listed in: Yoga Passbook

I'm a recent return to yoga after a year or two hiatus, and I'm finding Yoga Sole to be a great nearby studio. They offer a wide variety of classes at times that work for me in a really airy, comfortable location.
Their prices are comparable to other area yoga studios, and though there are some cheaper options, the atmosphere, the skill and friendliness of the teachers brings me back here.
I particularly like classes with Evelina and Merav. They're both very supportive, very clear in their instructions and can really get you working. I also love that they offer free yoga in Prospect Park on Sundays in the summer.
I'm really happy to have found this studio. I'm hopeful that this time it'll help keep me doing yoga so that multi-year hiatuses will be a thing of the past. -

Last week my husband and I tried yoga for the first time and we fell a little bit in love.
We decided to try out the Tuesday night gentle flow basic class with Daniella. It was a wonderful first experience.
I was a little concerned that since we had never been, it would be intimidating or that we would feel self conscious and not be able to keep up with the poses, but it was completely and totally the opposite of that. I was also concerned that it was going to be too... hippyish, but again, Daniella taught with humor and made it very enjoyable.
The class flew by - when the class ended, I was shocked that an hour and a half had passed. And to boot, I felt fantastic - very relaxed, yet like I definitely had a work out. -

I have taken yoga and stopped and taken yoga and stopped. Why? Well, I am one busy friggin person. Which is probably why I need yoga. I did the living social coupon here for a month. I am going back, when I get back from vacation. These people are awesome, the place is clean, and the yoga is good. I love it. you will too.

I absolutely love this place! Who knew that this hidden gem was only a 5-10 minute walk from my Park Slope apt. I got a 30 day living social deal and it was the best LS deal I ever bought! The studio was beautiful with 2-toned wood floors, very clean, with bright light and fresh air. All of the instructors and the owner are the best, sweetest and most knowledgeable instructors I have ever had...and I've been to yoga all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and other parts of the world! They also offer water for the guests, mats (donations go to cancer) and yummy treats. One day when I was there, the owner brought in birthday cake for one of her instructors, and one of the students..I was so impressed with the personalized touch! The best part for me was that I brought my dog with me everyday and he was bask in the sun in the beautiful courtyard. Everyone loved him and was super friendly! I already miss this place and brought my boyfriend by to show him a good Christmas gift and/or Birthday gift, so hopefully I'll be back soon! :)

I love this studio! I live in Kensington and it's an easy, quick bus ride (the bus runs very often- don't think I've really ever felt like I had to wait long for one), or nice long walk away.
I decided to try this studio for the first time when I got pregnant and I saw on their website that they have a prenatal yoga series. I've enjoyed the prenatal classes with both Latham and Sokhna, and feel like I've learned a lot, not only about safe prenatal yoga practice, but also about overall health and nutrition, and preparation for labor and delivery. The studio offers a great deal of workshops and series, in addition to their regularly scheduled classes, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming breastfeeding class.
The pricing is reasonable and the owners were extremely flexible when I needed to change an option that I originally signed up for. The studio has all the little touches to help you feel comfortable and relaxed, it's clean, has a nice bathroom, plenty of tissues and water available, even healthy treats at the counter.
Highly recommended!! -

Was so close to signing up for the unlimited yoga option they offer - but their teachers are so different in demeanor.
Huge fan of Daniella and Evalena. Phil is good. Merav is so-so when dealing with beginner/intermediate individuals.
Angela (same one from Bend & Bloom) is good if you like your yoga teacher to mock you, give bad adjustments and have a lack of compassion (namely for beginners) - she would be an amazing football coach - beginners steer clear all together. I'm not a fan of Jillian Michaels style yoga - some people are and find it helps them to be pushed in a jarring way. I'm not a fan of negative commenting especially regarding yoga - but I am a fan of honesty when sharing experiences. And my preference is a teacher who is calm and reassuring.
I'll continue to practice with a few of the teachers. The studio is super clean and comfy. But overall - there are better studios, and though this one is close to home for me, I have zero desire to risk leaving a yoga class feeling upset because of being treated poorly by a teacher. Not why I fell in love with yoga and its community. -

I always said I would never commit to a yoga studio because it was too expensive, so whenever I needed a break from running, I'd sign up for a week of Bikram ($20), get a good detox and return to running with the occasional yoga DVD practice.
But, then, I don't know, I decided to check out the non-Bikram yoga studios in my neighborhood, which led me to both Yoga Sole and Jaya Yoga.
After three classes at Sole and two at Jaya, I decided that Sole was my studio.
First off, the space is beautiful: comforting, serene, inviting, warm, clean. The instructors (my favorites are Phil and Evalena) are very hands-on and helpful, and they offer challenging classes.
I love that the classes I've been attending are small, but regardless of that, the studio seems to have a loyal following, as it should.
I still think it's an expensive practice, but I know what they charge is the going rate; however, it doesn't seem right that you pay the same for an hour class that you do for an hour and a half. Other yoga studios DO charge LESS for shorter classes. Hmmmmm. -

This place is immaculate, warm, and inviting. Light (in abundance), sound (lack thereof), and smell (incense) unite to promote deep relaxation. The instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. There are a variety of classes to pick from for all levels. I just wish they offered Pilates at a time when employed people could attend.

This studio is beautiful, intimate and the sunshine filters into the studio making it naturally upbeat and bright during the day. I have taken two wonderful classes here. The teacher was attentive, encouraging and challenging. It costs $1 to rent a mat and that money goes towards breast cancer research foundation, that's just awesome. I look forward to continuing to take more classes at Yoga Sole.

I bought a monthly unlimited pass to Yoga Sole off of Bloomspot without ever having visited the studio before (nor have I practiced much yoga elsewhere, aside from home dvds). I'm happy to say that I've been very pleasantly surprised by Yoga Sole. The classes and instructors are great, though some I naturally like better than others as each has their own style. Everyone is super nice and inviting, the studio is a very nice space, and the classes are never overcrowded (and I go after work). My only gripe is that I'm definitely not going to be able to do an unlimited monthly pass again at their full price as it's almost double the cost of going to a gym, however that doesn't seem to be all that unusual for yoga studios so I can't hold it against them, I guess.

The first reviewer wrote that Yoga Sole feels like a community, and that's my feeling, too. After going tor several months, I'm getting to know the teachers and my fellow students, and there's something about the energy of the place that helps people to connect. The yoga classes are great, the teachers are varied but all very knowledgeable and helpful to students at all stages. And the space is beautiful. I've done yoga at several studios, but this one is the best by far.

I came here as a beginner and felt very welcome from the start. The teachers and owner are experienced as both instructors and practitioners and have a lot of patience with newcomers to yoga. It is definitely a community and you will certainly meet some of the same people if you go on a regular basis. During early Wednesday morning class, the light comes streaming through the East-facing windows as you "light" your body through physical practice. There are kids' classes and occasional special workshops designed for a diverse community.

The classes are small and the space has great light and doesn't ever feel too crowded. The instructors are nice and friendly and often will gently correct your poses. I bought an unlimited monthly pass and it's great because as I get to know the instructors they offer recommendations specific to my abilities.

BEST YOGA STUDIO in Bklyn! Having practiced on and off for 20 years and in many studios in the area, I was not expecting to find myself totally committed to attending daily classes here. I attribute this to the amazing, knowledgeable teachers. They know their stuff and in each class I feel I get individualized, enthusiastic attention that continues to fine-tune my poses. Every teacher offers something new to discover so I recommend trying them all. This studio is a COMMUNITY GEM. I feel the teachers consistently give their all to each of us. Watch yourself get hooked!
