Customer service is good.. staff is friendly and accomodating.. the lockers are well.. not gross on the guy side just very YMCA.. as for the crowd.. well.. let's just say I see more wrinkles in the am then a raisin farmer..
If you are lookin to work in a social angle u can forget it here.. However they do well by the kiddies and the teenagers..
Workout equip is ok.. rush time should be avoided..
I joined this gym because it was really close to my new townhome in Brookhaven. However, I quickly realized it was not the place for me, and cancelled after a few months.
Pros:
- 2 full-court basketball courts and large swimming pool.
- Weight machines have the FitLinxx system. This is a really cool system where the computer tracks your reps and sets on every machine. You can even log in from home and see your results.
- Good customer service; everyone is really nice.
Cons:
- Cardio and weight machine area is tiny and very cramped. It feels like working out in someone's basement.
- Crowded in the post-work rush hour. Sometimes a wait for a cardio machine.
- No eye candy at all. The crowd here is typically older and not in very good shape. Personally, I like to be around fit people because it motivates me more during my workout.
- Locker rooms are gross. Easily the worst I've ever seen at a gym.
- High prices.
I would pretty much stay away from this location.
I enjoyed this YMCA very much when i was here. I would always go in the morning and watch a DVD when I am on the elliptical for an hour or so. I did not mind all the old people because i was not there to pick up any one. I like the Zumba class among the others they offer. I also liked the Fit link system because it helps keep track of your progress. I will agree that you will see a LOT of wrinkles but just keep your eyes up and it will be just fine.
