This is the last of my reviews for the famed downtown Yips trio of restaurants.  It takes a bit of wandering on the crooked streets of lower Manhattan to run across this place, but when you find it, as with the other Yips, it is the cheapest food around as long as you don't mind artery clogging food.

As with typical Chinese-American food, all the standard "scoop and dump on rice" dishes are here for your choosing.  This Yips location has a "Chinatown-style" Chinese food section which I had tried a few times.  Their beef stew noodles were pretty good, but the wonton noodle soup fell flat.  I have yet to find good wonton outside Chinatown.  Nice try for 60% of the true Chinatown taste.  On an aside, the bowls of soup, in my opinion were smallish and the dining room is a bit small for a high volume buffet and takeout Chinese restaurant.

I love headache inducing, cheap chinese food.  Especially when it's from a restaurant with a loveable name.  Yips satisfies all 3 criteria.  Plus the dining room has that "there are probably rats in the kitchen" kind of charm.

Don't go under false pretenses...it's cheap, dirty and nasty.
With that being said, sometimes I'm in the mood for awful.

WHY THE HELL DID YOU PUT THIS IN ME???? is what my stomach is saying to me right now. No, scratch that, SCREAMING at me right now. Yes, I thought $4 kung po (copied from the menu) was a deal. A wonderful deal. And it's take out Chinese, yeesh, how bad can it be?

THAT BAD!!! - stomach.

RANCID!! - taste buds.

NEVER AGAIN!! - brain.

and I have a cold and can't taste things too well right now, so I loaded up on soy sauce and hot sauce (sinus cleaner) and still threw half of it away. Oh well, at least it's only $2 gone. My stomach and mouth are still very angry at me. I am trying to think of a way to make it up to them. Suggestions welcome.

This place ruined my life. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I felt dizzy for 4 hours after eating here...so hey, free buzz.
