My only real complaint is that the food is a little pricy.

Everything I've ordered from this restaurant has been good, and I've ordered a lot.  All of the curries are good (except the Massaman tends to be a little sweet - I recommend ordering that one fairly spicy).  All the stir frys I've had have been good, the ingredients are always fresh.  The phad thai is one of my favorites in Seattle.  I think the only place I like better is Golden Singha in Belltown, however I eat here way more often because they deliver and you can order online.  That's right.  I can order really good Thai food to be delivered to my home, and I don't even have to talk to anyone - except for whoever delivers it, and they're always nice.

I took my mom out for lunch to Thai Kitchen, and we both had an excellent meal.  I had the Pad Thai with port and she had the Ginger Lover, and both were delicious.

I will return!

Thai Kitchen is a solid choice. Built in what is obviously an old home, it's a bit too quiet for my tastes to dine in and for what is obviously a small restaurant, everything is a bit slow.

But.

The Pad Thai is the best in town - incredibly tamarindy and what non-Ketchupy/actual Pad Thai should taste like. Aside from the Pad Thai, the noodle dishes are all fairly standard fare and aren't going to blow your face off.  All of the curries (yes I've had them all) are fantastic.

While Thai Kitchen probably deserves 3.5 stars, the Pad Thai and the strong curry showings push me to go for 4 instead of 3. 3 just doesn't feel right.

Just dined here with my family of 4. I love Thai and have tried most of the places in Seattle, usually more than once.  I ordered Massaman's Curry with chicken, 3 stars, and this was The.  Best.  Massaman's.  Curry.  Ever.  A hint of sweetness poking through the spiciness.  Perfect texture.  The potatoes were cooked just right, and the chicken (this is important) was almost melt-in-your-mouth tender.

What Thai restaurant doesn't overcook their chicken? It's almost a given that it'll be dry and you just hope the sauce and other components can soften a bit and/or help you ignore it.  Not here.  Tender and delicious.

Service was annoyingly slow, there were 3 service employees for just 3 tables, yet two of them (employees, not tables) stood around yakking for almost 5 minutes before one finally ambled order to ask about drinks.  Another long wait before our orders were taken.  Another long wait before the drinks arrived.  But the food came shortly after that.

The lemongrass hot-and-sour soup was also unusually good (is that Tom Kah or Tom Yum, I always forget).  Spring rolls were a bit bland on this night.

All-in-all, highly recommended.  Orrapin around the corner is reliably solid, but Ying Thai Kitchen showed me they can transcend.

Ying Thai Kitchen was badass. The pad see lew was incredible and as most other reviewers already stated, the pad thai was perfect. the converted house topped it off with it's charm and warmth.

my only complaint was the prices were a bit high.

Chicken Phad Thai is like the cheeseburger of Thai food. Its always the first thing I order. If they cant get a cheeseburger right, why move on?

I always always always get extra crushed peanuts as well. This time I wish I hadn't. It didn't need any . I dint want to say it but I think I might claim that this is close if not the best Phad Thai I have ever had in Seattle.

My lovely foodie assistant had the green curry. It was also very tasty but I will stick with saying that the noodle bowl owns that as the best Green Curry. I will be heading back to try the Swimming Rama and their other tasty food.

The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is kind and genuine. I had a good time eating here. This was my second time in 4 years. The first time was just like last night. I think its safe to assume they are consistently awesome.

I am a lover of Thai food and am constantly searching for a good hot soup to have when it's cold out or i'm not feeling well.  And I think I found it, we ordered the Ocean Garden soup and it was just delightful.  Sweet but spicy and very flavorful.  One of my complaints of thai soup usually is that the broth doesn't have enough depth to it, but this one seemed to have layer upon layer of good flavor.  I can't wait to try more of their soups.

The pad thai was good, also a bit sweet.  We also ordered the crispy duck, which had good flavor, but which had lost the crispy aspect of it by the time it made it to our house.  I bet it's a lot better in the restaurant.

The green curry is ok, I think next time we'll get a different curry.  It was a little bit boring.    All in all a good thai place, they deliver, they were prompt and unlike one of the other thai places they didn't get lost trying to find us.

One of the better Thai places in Seattle. I've gotten a great filling meal everytime I've visited. Try the yellow curry and spring rolls! I've never had a service or quality issue here, which is rare.

Nice outdoor seating, especially during the summer months.

Great thai food!  I love the curries, phad thai, and spring rolls.  The place is an old house, so you can eat outside on the "patio" (the pretty, tree-shaded front yard) in the summer.

I'm only giving it 3 stars because the service can be slow, and Orrapin is right around the corner with amazing service and the thai is better!  However, Thai Kitchen is still tasty and if Orrapin was closed/busy, I'd happily walk over to Thai Kitchen for some curry!

Uh oh, I'm in trouble.  No really, this does not bode well for the future of my waistline.  Really good Thai food just showed up on my doorstep, and I didn't even have to get out of my pj's.

I planned a night in, jammied-up around 7 for some RuPaul and No Reservations reruns, didn't feel like cooking, and turned to Yelp to see what might deliver to me besides pizza.  I know a couple italian places with decent salad and grinders but felt like something else.  Ying Thai came into view and I was so giddy I squealed.

The menu has a nice variety and prices are decent.  And delivery...HELLLOOOoooo!

We got Pad Kee Mao with chicken, 3 stars and it was tasty.  The noodles weren't mushy and there was plenty of veggies.  Also ordered Angel Rama (3*), which is off the vegetarian section, but added pork.  I wanted the mixed veggies with peanut sauce, not just plain spinach, and apparently that's not available as a non-vegetarian option so kind of made up my own dish.  It was GOOD.  Their peanut sauce is tasty and not overly sweet or rich.  Also not gloppy thick like I've seen elsewhere.

The shrimp crab spring rolls I will skip next time.  Tasted just like normal old eggrolls, nothing special.  And for 8.25 the portion seemed kind of small.  I could have ordered an entire vegetarian entree for 50 cents more and gotten 3 times the amount of food.  Live and learn.

ONE order of rice is plenty for 2 people.

They quoted 40 minutes and it was around 45, which is pretty good considering it was the height of dinner rush when I ordered!

I think they are still trying to work through their supply of styrofoam containers though, before switching to the required recyclable/compostable options.  Everything except the rice came in foam.

Dear Ying Thai Kitchen,

It was my first time seeing you last night and never before had my female accompaniment enjoyed the Thai food you serve. Memorable? Yes. Her first experience with Level 3 spicy went swimmingly, as the mongolian beef and chicken pad thai were delicious.

I would dish out five stars your way if it weren't for a few subtle, yet apparent flaws: the jasmine tea was a bit bland (a loose-leaf tea might be a fantastic choice) and the service was only sightly slower than I would have liked.

But Ying Thai (can I call you Yingy?) you had a wonderful warmth in your location and I plan on stopping by again for those fried bananas with coconut ice cream.

Cheers,
David

Feeling a good lazy Sunday roll to a close, we ordered two entrees from here & stopped at the Safeway for some other supplies. At $9.50 each for a massaman curry and prik khing (love the name) WITHOUT rice, it was an ok value considering the quantity. The curry was a little too sweet and might of been helped by me ordering it spicier. There were no complaints from my dining buddy as he devoured his meal in a feeding frenzy.

We grabbed a take-out menu & see they have delivery for Queen Anne, but this "may" come with a $2.00 gas fee. Hmmmmm...

It was ok, but with the plethora of excellent Thai places makes me think we won't be back.

IMHO, this place stands out a bit from the plentiful other Thai choices in Seattle. For example the prawns seemed to have a better texture and flavor. Fresh green beans were tender but crunched. Pad Thai wasn't a glob of noodles, currie was delicious and smelled great. Never had a bad meal here which I can't say about the place around the corner.

"Oh sweet gee-us they deliver, take credit cards, and it gooood."

This is what I tell all my friends who live in the area. What else do we need in a restaurant?

The Mr and I recommend the pad thai, crispy spicy shrimp, lemongrass soup, and the crab ragoon-y things.

PS the lemongrass soup is great when you are sick!

I'm constantly in search of the best Thai restaurant!  Ying Thai Kitchen was part of my journey.  I wanted to give Yin Thai Kitchen a 5 and the only reason I knocked off one point was because prices here are a little higher than prices other nearby excellent restaurants (like those found on University Avenue.)

To be fair to Ying Thai Kitchen is much more classy than any of the Thai restaurants on the Ave.  The decor and ambiance is a couple cuts above the Ave-style Thai restaurants.  This is the type of place you want to take a date, relatives visiting from out-of-town, or a best friend you haven't seen for 10 years

Thai Kitchen is a place you feel like slowing down at, having good conversation, and just soaking in the surroundings.  You can dress formally or casually you'll feel fit in either way.  I want to give this place a 5-star rating so badly and maybe I'll come back in the future and do so.

The Thai restaurants on the Ave have excellent food but are more geared for UW students and people in a rush who need to get back to work in 30 minutes and aren't so much interested in ambiance but want good food for a reasonable price.

Also be be fair, the food here is just as good as any of the best Thai restaurants on University Avenue and but the atmosphere here  is about 10x better.  If you're not in a rush, want great food and a great atmosphere then I highly recommend Ying Thai Kitchen.

Yelp, you steered me wrong. Well not completely wrong but for a poor girl who took a big chance with $270 of her hard earned pesos, it was a pretty sad day.

"Fresh" spring rolls covered in cardboard, weird processed beef-food pieces and slightly fishy tasting phad thai noodles.

My husband will eat a lot of things, but he actually spit out his bite of roll.
It was gross and endearing. At least he has some standards.

One star for holding good memories of swimming rama in college and one star for quick and friendly delivery service.

Note to Ying: The price of gas has gone down about $3.50 so since we're not in an "oil crisis" anymore, methinks you might adjust your gas surcharge when delivering less than five blocks from your restaurant.

Congratulations to Ying Thai Kitchen... they've defied science.  They've successfully hybrid a steer with a squid.

I ordered Beef Phad Thai, and the meat strips were rubbery and light-colored.  I bit in and it tasted slightly... fishy?  And unchewable.  Hmmm... But it has a beefy grain to it, so it isn't full-on mollusk.  The rice noodles were too Al Dente for my liking, as well.

My wife ordered "fresh" spring rolls, which the box they arrived in instructed us to microwave for 45 seconds (?).  After the microwaving, the wrap tasted like unflavored Pillsbury dough, and the contents were rubbery.

M'lady was impressed with the tofu "just the way she likes it," so I give one star for that and the friendly, prompt phone and delivery service.  Other than that... not sure what I did wrong to have such a nauseating experience with these otherwise very likeable folks.

But I tell you what, I'd have rather paid the same amount to see this "Beefsquid" instead of eat it.

This is for delivery only:

The woman that took my order was really nice; it was a painless process.  she quoted me 45 mins (did I have enough time to jump in the shower on my gimpy leg?  No...)

20 mins later, there's knock on my door.  hooray!  Food that isn't eggs or Ramen!  Pad Kee Mao tofu (3 star) and Pad Thai (3 star).  I love noodles.

Best part of the food:  not greasy.  I enjoy this place.  They deliver for $20 or more.  I was at $19 and needed to order $1.  That kinda pissed me off, but at least they hold true to what they say.  And that's why most of their entrees are $9.50.  They'll tack on another $2 charge for gas.

Friendly service and good food will hopefully make the swelling of my ankle go down as well as satiate my noodle craving.

Visited a friend who lives a couple doors down.  So glad she took me here for the first night's meal.

In a very cutesy hood called Queen Anne.  I ordered the Hot & Spicy  Crispy Prawn dish, and if they would let me, I will be having that for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the remainder of my trip in Seattle.

My companions ordered Tom Kah Gai (Coconut chicken soup), Pad Se Iw, and Garlic Lover with chicken...all to thumbs up.

4.5  stars for the delicious food (only demerit was that they charged extra for rice....NO Asian restaurant should EVER charge for rice with entrees) but they get an extra half  star bump for the Oriental Mai Tai cocktail, woo woo!

Looking at the recent reviews it seems either hit or miss--maybe a different chef? All I know is my husband and I are huge Thai food fans and when we moved here this was the only place that compares with our little favorite spot in San Diego. We've had their delivery 3 times and been there once--every time the food's been great. I have to force myself to try something else because I want to eat the last thing I had again! Two thumbs up for the duck, too!

Only downside was the one time we went to the actual restaurant/house and the bench seat was so high my feet didn't touch the ground and I towered over my 6' husband. I commented I felt like a giant and the ladies on either side of me instantly agreed. They easily heard because the two person tables were only about a foot apart. Depsite the awkward setup of that table/bench, the food was still awesome.

In the summer you can sit outside which is nice. And their delivery is always SUPER speedy!

Love Thai Kitchen. The panang curry is one of the best I've had and the prik king always has perfectly cooked green beans. We eat here about once a week and are never disappointed. Plus they deliver to our house and don't get lost, so big bonus points on that front.

Although I have experienced a bit slower service recently, I really can't complain. We go in, we sit, we talk, we get our food, we eat way too much of it and we go home. I'm not in a huge rush and enjoy the time I spend there.

I too was a fan of the Bellevue Thai Kitchen.  But this Queen Anne location had blah atmosphere, unremarkable food and weak service.

I don't know what to say about the food. The crab shrimp spring rolls were delicious, although they seemed to be stuffed with pieces of chicken.  I didn't like the rice, it was too heavy and had a flat flavor.  The prices were okay, for dinner.

The service pretty much ended my hopes for a nice dinner.  The host greeted us unceremoniously.  Our waitress was really young and clearly in over her head.  She didn't speak English very well and had the personality of a turnip.  She also wasn't paying attention when we ordered: when I said "Red Curry with chicken," she repeated back to me "So, Red Curry with Tofu?"  Then she completely forgot to bring our tea out, and when I asked her for it, she acted like I was ordering it for the first time.  Hello, anybody home?

The atmosphere was unremarkable. This is one of those old converted houses, so all the seating areas are chopped up and it makes a large space feel awkwardly cramped.

I would rather eat at Racha down the hill any day over Ying Thai Kitchen.

When I picked up my take-out the uber cute inside and gracious service made me wish I was coming to stay a while in the queen anne Thai kitchen house. The decor is elaborate and the seating intimate. There is even porch and garden seating in the front.

The food was OK. I ordered Pad See Iw with tofu. I was happy when they asked me if I wanted fresh or fried tofu. My entree was full of wide noodles, broccoli, and tofu. It also had the most egg I have ever seen in this dish. I freaked when my container tipped sideways anticipating the juices/sauces running out- It was all for nothing though- no juices or extra sauces. The noodles were full of flavor- but the tofu no so much. It was better than some I have had and not even close to those I rank highly.

On spied that the menu was many many veggie based dishes with lo cal sauce options that I will be ordering when I am eating better :) At least I know I have options at Thai Kitchen.

This place has been pretty hit or miss for me.  Sometimes I get a dish I really like, but other times I am amazed at how bad it is.  They clearly know what good Thai food can be, but they seem to have trouble executing on it.  Some notes on individual dishes

-Larb Gai- this is one of the worst I have had of this dish.  The ground rice was soft and mushy, giving it a really weird texture.

- Kra Prau- this one is weird for me.  I really like the flavor, but addition of lots of green beans really bugs me.  They use minced chicken and the right ingredients otherwise, so it tastes really good.  I tend to break out the beans and eat them separately, and they are really good on their own.

- Panang- this was a pretty good take on Panang, nice flavor, a bit soupy, sweet, and creamy, as usual in the area.

The service is fine but amateurish.

Sadly I've had more bad experiences than good here at this Thai Kitchen.  For years I had great thai at the Bellevue Thai Kitchen so had high hopes when this one moved into the neighborhood.  Service was slow and food wasn't great.  I'm still a fan of their tom yum though.

Hard to justify going to this place when Orrapin is right around the corner.  Thai Kitchen can be OK for a light lunch (Singha!) while sitting in the sun on the front patio.

I have had nothing but great experiences at this place - the food is fantastic and reasonably priced, it's a great old house-converted-to-restaurant, and the staff is amazing and friendly. My first meal here was Phad Thai (whenever I go to a new Thai place I order Phad Thai - if they can't get that right, they won't see me again. There are enough great Thai places in Seattle that I won't settle for mediocre food) which was perfect - not too spicy, tofu was perfect and plentiful, noodles were done just right, and it was a good-sized portion.

But what made me a customer for life was when I stopped by late-ish one night with a friend. We weren't sure how late they were open but as we drove by we saw that the OPEN sign was still lit, so we parked and headed on up. However, as it took us a couple of minutes to find a spot, the OPEN sign was off when we actually got there. As we turned around to forage elsewhere for food, one of the waitresses came running out after us, and told us to come on in. They were going to close early because business was slow, but re-opened when they saw us and served us. Now that's a good dining experience!!

OH MY GOD! Best Thai in Seattle. They deliver. They aren't over-eager to fill your water glass. Their spring rolls are amazing. They offer food to the god(s). The restaurant is done in golds and fashionable browns and very clean. I have never encountered an annoying child in this place. Their veggies and rice are fantastic. And the spicing is correct: if you order it 2-star, it's not so spicy and the sweet flavors really come out. If you order it 5, you're going to get a feeling and a flavor to fuckin' savor.

You gotta try it.

This is my favorite Thai place in the QA area. Their peanut sauce is to die for. I think I could put it on anything - even cooked spinach which I hate - and love it. The service at Thai Kitchen is excellent, and carry-out is no exception. I use to work near Thai Kitchen and when I would call in large orders they were always right on in terms of the time it would be ready -- never too early or late,  and they made sure we had plenty of forks and napkins.

My favorite place to sit is near the windows because you sit on a little bench with comfy cushions, and on a beautiful Seattle day, nothing beats sitting by the window noshing on delicious Thai food.

mmmm....My belly is full of basil fried rice, it couldn't be happier!!  This place has never disappointed.  All of the food I've tried has been amazing.  Usually when I really like something, I just keep ordering it again and again. However,  their menu is so good, something new always catches my eye.

It is very reasonable, the most you'll pay is $13.95 for seafood, fresh, really good seafood.  You could share most dishes between two people, but usually my husband and I are more gluttonous than to share.  There are menu items that are very similar to another *shall remain unamed* thai restaurant in Lower Queen Anne, but there they charge about double.

The service is great, pleasant, and considerate.  Sitting outside in the summer with some curry and crab rolls; nothing could be nicer.

First off, when you're walking up... it's a house.  I wasn't sure if it was a Bed and Breakfast at first (I didn't plan on coming here, just happened upon it) but saw people dining inside so we walked up the steps.  I definitely hope they deliver down to the bottom of the hill because I doubt I'll be ordering from anywhere else for takeout now that I've found Thai Kitchen.

I had the Ginger Fried Trout... didn't realize that I was getting an ENTIRE FISH that had been deep fried and then sauteed with a bunch of delicious vegetables served on top.  WOW.  Absolutely incredible.  We couldn't immediately tell that they had a bar, but I did have a few Singha's with my trout dish.  My mom was in town for the weekend, she had the spicy green beans with pork - also excellent.

While leaving, most of the family was by the door thanking us for our business, which I thought really added to the family environment.

It's an unassuming old house from the outside but inside you will find an intimate atmosphere and quick service.  The food is good and filling.  If it's a nice day they have a good amount of outdoor seating.  In my opinion, it's the best thai food in Upper Queen Anne.

Loved it loved it loved it!

Such a cool place and I loved sitting outside! totally amazing! I think we ordered something not on the menu and got it anyway!

How nice is that? We had a craving for some great Thai food, and didn't feel like going all the way into downtown to Wild Ginger. Wise wise wise!

Great food, great service and for a pretty good price too! Such a nice surprise!

Their food is like the best music you've ever heard, if food was music and your mouth was your ears. Man, I love the food at this place. I get Red Curry with Chicken every time I go and they never disappoint.

Some people may be disappointed with the decor or the parking - it's actually in an old house, converted to a restaurant and it's street parking in the busiest part of Upper Queen Anne, but it's worth it, hands down. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
