I love this place. Francais slice, add bacon. repeat if necessary. DELICIOUS.

I love love love the thin crust and the atmosphere is nice. I especially love the decor and the overall attitude of the place is fun and relaxed. you'll find a lot of artsy folk/hipsters hanging out here and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Everyone is nice and I've enjoyed every meal I've had here.

I really wish I could give this place a five star review, but it has changed - for the worse in the last five years or so.

When I first started going here in high school, I thought it was the bee's knees - now its okay pizza with a great beer list (bottles and draft).  I contend that the best time to go here is after the lunch crowd and before the dinner crowd.  It's worth checking out, if you don't like the pizza, you won't  be disappointed with the beer selection - unless you only like Bud Light.

Their basil pesto is delicious, I can't say much for the other sauces - but there are several to choose from and an impressive list of toppings, including soy cheese.  Also, they will make you a baked potato or sandwich with any of their many toppings for, I believe, the same price as the slice.  I would not recommend ordering a whole pie, as too often the middle is underdone.

My staple order? - basil pesto, corn, capers, almonds and provolone - a curious delight in my tummy.  The French slice is quite good, too.  I always order a side of basil pesto for my bread and my general enjoyment of it's thick, flavorful consistency.

I always try to stop in when in town, but I wish it was the old Yia Yia's.

IMPORTANT : you must wait in line at one of two registers to place your order, you will give your name and they will call it when your slice is ready.  Do not think that just because you found a seat at the bar that anyone will notice you waiting - this includes beer orders.  You will get served at the bar when and if there is no line at the register, that is why I highly recommend going to Yia Yia's in the middle of a weekday afternoon.

This place is better than Pizza Hut, Dominos, and Papa Johns. I love the thin crust and since I've been in NYC for 2 years now, I have to say Yiayia's isn't too bad.

In a nutshell:  Token Bohemian Pizza Place

You'll Like It If:  You are bohemian, you like swanky beer

You Won't Like It If:  You have any sort of standards for pizza, you hate Bohemians,

General Thoughts:  This place has the best bottled beer selection in town, without a doubt.  The seating situation is diverse enough that you can come in with a pretty big group and sit together without a huge problem for the most part.  These are the two big pros.  The main con is the pizza ain't that great.  I mean, its alright.  Its cheesy, and cheese is good, so it can't be that bad.  But it isn't that great.  They have some sort of pesto cheese bread that is killer.  Generally their bread is better than their pizza.  Really though, the only reason to go here is for the beer, or if you are hanging out with a group who wants to go there.  Or if you want pizza and beer, but you value beer more than pizza.

Context:  I've been here many times, and a lot of friends like their pizza more than me.

Final Disclaimer:  My ratings system is based entirely on my own enjoyment of the place.  If I'm a regular, it is getting 5-Stars.  Otherwise it will be tough for a place to get 5-Stars.  Point is, you are not me, so you may not like what I like.  The star rating is borderline worthless, really.

Great place to go for an exceptional beer selection, thin crust pizza, and pesto cheese bread.

Do you like beer?  How about pizza?  If you don't like either, you have serious problems, plus you probably won't like Yiayia's, which is your loss.

First of all, the beer.  You want to try a bottle of Woodpecker's Nutsack Ale brewed by gnomes in Bolivia?  They have it.  Pabst Blue Ribbon. Spaten Munich.  If they don't have a particular type of beer, you might have a hard time convincing me that said beer even exists.  If making a choice between that many beers gives you a headache, the staff are a bunch of drunks who are always willing to give sage recommendations.

Then pizza.  The pizza is made to order, either by the slice or a whole pie.  I would recommend either the pesto or red pesto sauce, if you dig that sort of thing.  Experimentation is essential, since I think there are probably no fewer than one billion potential combinations of sauce, cheese, meat and veggies.

Alas, I didn't drink the Kool-Aid.

I've never liked Yiayia's and it seems that everytime a friend had a birthday shindig, they insisted on Yiayia's.

The thing is, well, I have to describe their pizza like this: Take a cracker, throw some soggy gunk on it, some toppings, and bake it for about five minutes. That, folks, is what their pizza has been like everytime I went there (and I lived in Lincoln for 10 years).

The mad props on the stars, though, goes for their amazing liquor selection. But that's about all this place has going for it. You could easily plod across the street to Lazzari's and get a much more delicious and substantial pizza.

Oh, and don't fuck with the people who own this place. I remember a few run ins my posse had back in the day, including one instance where we got kicked off the patio for no good reason at all.

I thought the pizza here was horrible. For some reason, a lot of Nebraskans have a fetish for really bland pizza with some sort of gimmick to it. The gimmick here: the crust is super thin and tastes like its wood fired.

To get better pizza, all I have to do is go to some generic franchise restaurant where some 16 year old high school student follows some simple recipe.

Let's emphasize how bad this pizza is once again: I have never eaten the terrific pizza of Chicago or New York. I have the pizza-palette of a Nebraskan myself.

Really Nebraska, I love you, but give it up. This pizza sucks.

I do give it two stars though for the beer selection (although I could bankrupt myself buying beer there).

Love the pizza at this brick-lined eaterie that makes you feel you could be in New York, Chicago, or anywhere else in the world. Lots of combinations (as many as you can dream up!) great bread, thin-crust pizza and lots of ambience. Pool tables in the back and a full bar with the sometimes-hard-to-find Framboise makes this one of my fave places for lunch or a pre-movie slice!

Solid 4 star.

First: The beer selection is the best in the city, the only other place that has a selection even close is Myer's Cork and Bottle, and that is a booze store.  Fear no beer or refer to the knowledgeable staff for a detailed explanation of what all can hit your palate.

Second:  You can read any other review to tell how you can get it, I'm here to tell you it tastes great, but with a fair warning that it will stick in your stomach like a brick.  A big bonus is it's cheep as hell.  Not sure but I think it's around $3 for a slice that has a liberal amount of toppings.

Go for the beers, get the pizza if you need food.

Oh and don't bring the kids in the evening.

Great pizza by the slice.

You order it, and then they make it, so be prepared to wait anywhere from 2 to 20 minutes for your food to show. Good news? No over-warmed soggy crust or dehydrated heat lamp cheese.  Always fresh. Always hot.

They do single slices to full pizzas, just be aware that the thin crust doesn't keep well in the fridge.

They serve a roll with each slice, and this is one of the few issues I have with the food. The rolls are hit or miss.

You should also check out the cheese bread. The side salads are never really as good as they should be.

I also have to mention that they have one of the (the?) largest bottled beer selection in town.

My favorite slices are the pacific  with chicken (instead of ham) and the american.

Good brick-oven type slices, pretty inventive, plus I liked the fact that you could get a crazy beer like a Lone Star if the mood struck you.  Good pizza for Nebraska, but I took a dear friend from CT there, and by the look on her face...made me realize it's still not as good as any true East Coast slice.  Funky decor keeps the doltish away, so it's a good place to escape for an hour

Yia YIa's is the go to place for hipsters, whatever that means.

The pizza is the big draw here.   You can make about any kind of pizza you desire, choose one of their adventuresome combinations.  I tried nuts on my pizza here once on the suggestion of a bartender, and it's become a staple of my pizza order ever since.

There are lots of veg options, and even choices for low-carbers or other weird diet fetishists.  They even have soy cheese, which tastes, well, like soy cheese.

They used to play cool, hip indie rock, but of late they switch to satellite radio and so now there's a lot of crappy 80s music.  Once you drink a pint or 5 of their excellent selection of beer, however, the music becomes a non-issue.

Pros - Good beer selection, great pizza, lots of options on both beer & pizza

Cons - Sometimes their staff is a bit sketchy

Tip - Try all your pizza toppings on a baked potato instead of a pizza slice

Easily the best pizza in Lincoln, and probably in the state.  Excellent beer selection, and a cool atmosphere.  It's not the same without Demetrius' grumpy presence, but still...

To think I came to Lincoln, Nebraska to have one of the best pizza slices ever. They do custom made slices (!) and the crust comes out crusty yet chewy. In other words, perfect. And they have fridges and fridges of beer from everywhere (we had the Rogue Chipotle Brewed Ale). It's kinda perfect.

I love the pizza! Sometimes the service is slow, but the pizza is great, and the ambiance...especially when they play the 80's satellite radio!
