This place crazy. You make anything here. It's a creative cornucopia! I love the friendly staff and they are very knowledgeable about the crafts. They always walked around to make sure to ask how we were doing. Loved the bites from Brio! I think the food helped my creative side come out. My friend and I got creative and hit the candle station. While our candle was in the cooling water, we were able to create some bling for our wrists. Thanks to the staff at Make Meaning and Brio. Lindsey, another great event for the Yelpers!

wow this event was by far my favorite!! Thanks again Lindsay for setting this up. Such a great event!! I made a cake for my brother who was visiting!! Ahhhh I didn't want the event to end it was so amazing. I got a glitter tattoo that lasted a week and also had the little plats of BRIOs food yum, not to mention the cocktail. I wish every make visit was like that food not to far and alch! So much fun making my cake and being crafty. Best event for me by far. Staff was so attentive and helpful! I will be back to get my craft on and make the glass project. There was also ceramics and card making. Many elites made candles, jewelry and soap. $12 sit fee and projects under $20. I will be back to this great little hidden gem at the quarter for a good day of crafting fun! Also thanks brio for the $25 gift certificate.

This event was a blast! Thanks Lindsay for another killer event!!
Jewelry making, cake decorating and ceramic baking oh my!! I have been to several diy pottery places in the valley and Make Meaning really takes diy craft sitteries to a new level of fun!!
Upon my arrival to the super cute Make Meaning in the Scottsdale Quarter I was greeted by a lovely associate who promptly showed me around the store and all of the crafts that were available for my crafting delights! I have never been so torn on what to make as I was this night.
I decided to make a wrap necklace and instantly felt like a jewelry maker extraordinaire! Their were so many beads to choose from and little "pops" to boot! Pops are the extra bling that really takes your piece to the next level of wow! Chrystalle B. ended up being my partner in crime as we ended up being the first 2 ladies to ever attempt to make on of these dazzling creations at this store location. With food & cocktails from Brio my inner foodie was sated to boot.
Thank again Yelp for a great event and I am looking forward to returning to Make Meaning with some girl friends soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Leilani G.Topeka, KS17310845Jul 21, 2012
What fun I had at Make Meaning! This place is a creative wonderland. You can choose to make a Candle, Soap, Jewelry, Ceramics, and even decorate a cake. They have something here for everyone to add their creative touches to. I choose to make a candle. At first looking at all the examples I thought, "Mine's going to look funky." However with the most helpful staff, they gave me tips and directions on how to build my candle. You even get to choose a scent for your candle after you make it. I choose a scent called Staycation. After having it set a cool for half and hour, it came out looking awesome.
Brio provided the food and beverages. I tried the salad ( with apples & mushrooms). The dressing was just right and didn't over power.Their Berry lemonade was refreshing
I am looking forward to going back and bringing a few friends for a creative night out. I would really like to try and make a glass jewelry piece. The display of examples is quite lovely.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Trish E.Phoenix, AZ13717128Jul 20, 2012
Tonight was one of my favorite Elite events! Being able to see everyone's creative side was awesome! This place is like As You Wish on steroids. I can see this being great for birthdays, Mother's Day, Christmas, and just because.
I picked up a family membership and plan on bringing my entire family to do projects.
Brio as always was amazing, I am hoping to go there this weekend and enjoy more of their yummy food and beverage, their salad with apples and mushrooms was fantastic.
We also were able to get Glitter Tattoo's, which I picked up a kit for my daughter because I had so much fun with it.
I have told all of my friends about this place and plan on bringing every single one of them for their birthday's here. I would also like to do a Mother's Day event here, and certainly a girls night out!
Thank you Yelp, Make Meaning and Brio for a wonderful night!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Katherine T.San Antonio, TX8751439Jul 19, 2012
So fun! I loved this event and my apple pie cow candle. I also think this glitter tattoo may have super powers because it does not come off (not that I am trying too hard). I wish they were around when I was younger! Very fun! I loved seeing how creative and talented everybody is! The staff was so friendly and as always Lindsay and the gang did a fabulous job!

Thanks Lindesy and Yelp for making my living room smell like pink bubblegum!
Yelp's DIY Night Out At Make Meaning was so much fun! Between the delicious Flirtini's compliments of Brio and delivered by executive chef,Tyler, and the creative influence from Make Meaning, I created a pretty rad hot pink and black candle that has a bubblegum scent, awesome!
In addition to candle making, Yelper's could choose from a soap making station, jewelry making station, and a cake decorating station! Oh, they also have a Skinny Dip River that Sheryl, the Make Meaning ACE, rocked! All those options left many Yelper's dazed, confused and hungry due to the impending decision, but Brio was there for the rescue. They had their delicious Tuscan Harvest salad (Mixed greens, grilled chicken, mushrooms, bacon, almonds, Gorgonzola cheese, apples, and dried cranberries), a vegetarian pasta dish, and their chilled tomato caprese bruschetta. To wash down all that heaven, the had their alcoholic Flirtini drink and a non alcoholic lemonade and then, cause Brio is that awesome, us Yelper's walked away with a $25 gift card! I had such an awesome time, those that RSVP'd and didn't show up, you missed out on all of this PLUS a Yelp notebook (yep, I know that last part got ya)!
Thanks again to Lindsey and to Yelp!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yvette R.Phoenix, AZ14819398Jul 18, 2012
DIY Night out at Make Meaning was the first Yelp elite event I had gone to. I was a little intimidated at first being alone not knowing anyone. To no surprise, everyone was extremely friendly that I felt right at home from the second I walked in and greeted by Lindsey . I also meet a few fellow yelpers within seconds. We were given a $25.00 gift card for Brio, who catered the event. They served Bruschetta, Salad, Pasta and Yummy refreshments. All of it was delicious!
The staff at Make Meaning gave us a tour of the activities we could participate in. I chose to decorate a cake, Alyssa one of the Staff members showed me the best way to apply color to the cake, presented me with a wide variety of fondant colors , decorating items to use. They had everything from eatable pearls, glitter, pens, cutting tools, you name it. I felt like a kid in a cake store! Once I finished with my master piece, they put the cake in a cute little box for me to take home. My fellow co-workers tried the cake and loved it .
I had a blast ! Make meaning is a fun place for a girls night out or taking the kiddies to indulge in the inner craftiness.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 17, 2012
The sad part was that there was only time to do one thing! It all looked like so much fun, so I bought myself a membership and will be returning to try some of the other great options they have the very first chance I get!
Make Meaning is a great way to release those tense muscles from work and to get your creative juices flowing!
And Brio's scrumptious food is always wonderful . . . having a great gift certificate just makes me want to go sooner.
Maybe a great lunch at Brio followed by an afternoon of fun at Make Meaning? Sounds good to me . . . now who wants to go with me? Tiffany? Karen?
Thanks Lindsey! Fun! Fun! Fun! Especially my dragonfly glitter tattoo!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
