Errrrr, a really long time afterwards I decide to review this. It's like I'm in school or something ;) (shout-out to Blake F.).
I was the first one there!!! I should have taken all the candy before you all got there :-P But I decided to be nice and I even took my time in getting a drink, which was promptly made up by me ordering two drinks so I wouldn't have to get back up again. And for Jazmin, I really thought I would try to dress up but I don't fit into any of my costumes lol.
I knocked down a star because the appetizers were not exactly my thing. Chewy/hard pita bread, prosciutto with lots of salt, and watermelon/feta skewers were not the hits of the nights. BUT the drinks and the feta spread were great. I want one of those lemonades now actually lol. And now that cold weather has caught up to me, I'm pining for one of those hot toddies from the Supper Elite Event :)

Yeah, I'm four-starring an Elite event. That's not any fault of Monica's--great job, as always!--the one-star demerit is because I didn't feel like the appetizers were as good as at other events and the service at the bar was not exceptional. At one point, I tried using the bartender's own tricks against her and flashed some impromptu cleavage to get my drink order in, but alas, my attempt failed. When I did manage to land some booze, though, I found that both the punch and lemonade were good and strong.
Still, much fun was had and I met a few Yelpers I had not met previously. Good times, indeed.
What a cool place to have an event.Even entering the building, I felt like I was being led to a secret party at a speak-easy. Major bonus points.
The bartender, as others have said, wasn't super attentive, but she was nice enough I guess. This time it was the servers that caught my attention: the guy who served the "Exotic mushrooms" seemed very enthusiastic about the item he was serving (and also reminded us that it was something from their regular menu!)
The exotic mushrooms were exquisite; I never would have known they were mushrooms solely by the taste. Plus they invoked a nostalgic yearning for green-bean casserole. The bread that came with it was very mellow which balanced out the rich taste of the sauce of the mushrooms.
However, the rolled meat appetizer (didn't taste very special) and the spiced feta on pita bread appetizer(the pita bread was extremely tough) were disappointing.
Next I tried the Prive punch, rum mixed with their 'homemade' recipe. I thought it was pretty good. You can taste the rum in the first sip, but not so much after.
This time I was able to mingle and meet some people, which was fun. Hopefully I'll meet some more people next time; just come up and say hi!

Oh Yelper Elite, I am seriously disappointed in your lack of costumes! Aside from a guy from Devo, Batgirl(?), a doctor, a bunny, and a few masked individuals, no one else seemed to get into the Halloween spirit and get tarted up. For shame!
The food and drinks were interesting in concept, but a little odd-tasting in execution. Watermelon-feta skewers with a drizzle of balsamic was an interesting combination, but I'm still not sure how I feel about the flavor. Also, the lemonade drink had a confusing aftertaste. The mushroom risotto, however, was magical and heavenly, as was the punch.
The servers seemed to get off to a slow circulatory start, but once I mentioned that not enough hors d'oeuvres were filtering into the back, they were quite lovely and accommodating. The bar tenders were fine. (Still, I think the food, drinks and service were the best at APO.)
So, Yelp, I give the event at Privé 4 stars, but don't worry, I don't blame you for that.
This event was SO FUN. The space was beautiful, the crowd was beautiful, the Monica was beautiful.
I have to agree with Christopher R, though. I didn't try and flash and cleave, though.
Secret Agent Man entered through the Gates of Steel, And you best believe that he whipped it good. I was not man. I was Devo!
But it time to break out of character for a moment (especially since I was very much in character all Halloween Weekend long when I went as Joker!), and focus on the event. The Bartenders might have been a little slow at the jump (good thing I did try Christopher R.'s flashing tactic). And Prive's odd lighting upstairs might have caused weird color tints to reflect off the safety glasses I was wearing, making it hard for me to recognize people at first (sorry about that!). But over all Prive was a blast! I might of had a few too many prosciutto and fig roll ups, and I liked seeing feta presented in ways that I never thought possible (not as much as the taste, but still.). Chupa Chups have been my big time vice ever since, Monica Delivered on her ghoulish songs soundtrack, and Ferry made me look pretty rawking! so overall, good times indeed!
Ah, my first yelp elite event. I did not meet anyone! But that is my own fault. I said hi to Monica and Alexandra but I had met them previously at the film fest after party.
The drinks were good, albeit weak, but they were free so who cares! The mushroom risotto was fantastic.
Prive was a really nice venue, not somewhere I'd go on my own otherwise. The bathroom sinks were really cool!
Overall I had a enjoyable time and will be sure to introduce myself to some of you next time if you promise not to berate me for being a Polanski supporter. :)
I've got all the photos to back up what everyone's surely thinking--this was the best looking event yet! The upstairs at Privé did get a little congested, with all these fine looking Yelpers occupying the way, but the drinks were strong, music was good, and company excellent. Though the Phils didn't take the Yankees down another peg, this was still a very fun night.

I have to say, I ran up those stairs expecting to see a group of five to ten and I got a large party with smiling masked faces! The wonderful man who check myself plus one in was adorable and sweet! And everyone I talked to was really kind and funny! Did I mention that the Elites of Philly are hot? I was pretty impressed! ;) No but seriously, I want to say I had an amazing time and I was so sad it was cut short by my dear friend getting sick. :\ I really would have liked to stay longer. Next time!
I want to talk about this Prive food cause it was delicious! I loved the mushroom risotto especially. And those pitas with the feta red pepper spread were spicy and delicious! I liked the watermelon but I didn't really like the feta in between. Tooooo strong! The punch drink was delicious! It's the only one I tried but I agree with Susan G, I do wish it could have been faster but then I think I would have become an intoxicated hot mess if it had so I can't say I'm too upset about it. ;) All of the above? It mixed wonderfully with the airheads and hershey kisses on the tables ;)

YAYYYYYYYYY -- this was my first Yelp Elite event, which I had promptly RSVP'd to after joining the Yelp Elite Squad. A lot of people came up to me and introduced themselves, somewhat awkwardly, saying that they had never introduced themselves to strangers at Yelp events before, but hey -- what the hell else are you going to do if the event is mainly organized around strangers who have never met except on the internet before?
I think Yelp did a really good job of making sure that the number of people at the event and therefore trying to access the open bar was a reasonable amount; it always took less than 5 minutes for me to get a drink. As for the place itself, the complimentary drink that I partook in itself was totally rockin': called the Prive Punch, it tasted somewhat like bubble gum and was just enough to get my super low tolerance self a tiny bit tipsy after 2-3 drinks. Loved it! The appetizers, too, were delicious, and the servers at Prive tried hard to get my +1 served with the best appetizer -- "exotic mushroom on focaccia bread." The only appetizer that wasn't absolutely yummy was the prosciutto: too salty. [And the decor? Well, it seemed kind of generically semi-upscale and lounge-y, i.e. not really anything worth adding or subtracting points for.]
But overall, this was a really good place and a great event where I met a bunch of friendly people. I hope you guys friend me back and keep in touch!!!!!!!!! ;D Thanks for having the event Yelp! I can't wait for the next Yelp Elite event!
Since this was my first Elite Event, I really have no point of reference but I got to say it was fun. The food was good, the drinks were decent and people were friendly and fun...
Definitely looking forward to the next one!

Good times and bunny ears. Need I elaborate? Well I will anyway for those that missed out. Upstairs at Prive is a nice space with a bar flanked by two sit down areas, not the best layout for the large gathering we had, because the bar area was super congested and the bartenders seemed not to be able to handle the surge. Still it was a lot of fun meeting new Yelpers and if/when you finally did get a drink they were pretty strong. The food was so so, I expected better. The little pita wedges were overly "crisp" and easily would cut your mouth open. Most of the rest of the things I tried were a bit on the salty side.
I have to admit I was king of shaking in my sweater top boots to attend my first Yelp Elite event. I dragged my husband with me and we totally forgot our awesome animal masks. Damn it.
Turns out I had nothing to worry about it and the event was super fun. Good job Monica! I met a bunch of new people and got my drink on. I tried both the Prive Punch (a fruity pineapple and rum based cocktail) and the oh crap, I forget the name of it, some sort of Whiskey Lemonade that left a synthetic aftertaste. Both were strong and free, so really I can't complain. I tried almost all of the appetizers and they were amazing, especially the triple mushroom risotto that definitely had truffle oil in it. Man I think I have to go get some dinner at Prive now! The ambience was great, I loved the Yelp buttons that were artfully placed on the counters and the people were just lovely. The waitstaff were super friendly and knowledgeable and the bartenders were hot. They were a little bitchy but I've come to expect that from hot bartenders. Oh and the bathroom faucet fixtures at Prive are awesome and my husband made me promise I'd yelp about them. Promise kept. I took off one star because the one drink we actually bought, a Stella Artois was super skunked and icky.
I can't wait for the next one now that I have some experience. I'm not afraid anymore.
I've never seen so many good looking people at a Yelp event before. Quite outstanding as were the bold few donning costumes (5 stars for the combat boots). My friends posse'd up for the event, but were quite pleased to make new friends. Excellent music selection. I don't remember eating the watermelon, but I ate the feta. Both tasted like little vittles of heaven. Monte you looked just dashing. Let's make it a Swash Halloween.
I gave an extra star for all the nice people I met. And it was very well organized with some very considerate touches (like buttons and plates scattered throughout and a greeter to point the way at the door. Poor girl probably froze all night :( - thanks for being such a great help). But I am basing this otherwise solely on the food. It was very disappointing. They only had 4 appetizers: 1. watermelon feta skewers with a honey lavender drizzle 2. prosciutto wrapped around some sort of salad with what I (with help from my +1) believe was figs 3. spicy feta spread on a cracker 4. mushroom risotto on a piece of bread. The only decent one was the mushroom risotto, although it was exceedingly rich. The watermelon skewer seemed a bit of an odd combination. The prosciutto was odd all around. The cracker under the spicy feta spread was hard enough to crack a tooth, although the flavor was good.
Perhaps the drinks were good, but since I don't drink and it did take forever to try to just get a glass of water....
Glad I came out to my first "Elite" event with a buddy of mine and was happy to see a great turn out. All the appetizers they had were quality and free, so no complaints there and I liked the busy but not too crazy atmosphere. Hats (masks) off to Monica for pulling off a quality event like this.
Man, I am overdue for a review! Had a great time at the event. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and I really liked the fake cobwebs against the grey brick wall upstairs (well, let's hope they were fake). As other reviewers stated, the watermelon and feta with lavendar honey vinaigrette were definitely different, but I loved them (and was glad for vegetarian options). Even better was the feta and sriracha spread on pita crisps. The pita was delicious, and sriracha makes pretty much everything amazing but I never would've thought to mix it with feta. Thanks, Prive, for the creativity and deliciousness! My boyfriend loved the prosciutto fig appetizers and even considered joining Yelp to rave about them (we'll get him next time...) I really wanted to try a mushroom appetizer, but alas, the server never got to our back corner and I didn't feel like clogging up the bar area. Minus one star because I'm greedy and wanted more food options (and just more in general). But overall, a great time and I finally got to meet the lovely Monica! I would never be able to afford Prive on my own, but yeah, good food.
